Hello,

I recently purchased a Benelli M2 Field Left Handed model. I love it but my only critique is I usually prefer around a 4 lb trigger pull and it's closer to 6 1/2 - 7 lbs.

TTI advertises a replacement hammer and trigger spring. Has anyone used them? Does it help and is it reliable?

Also maybe dumb question but what is the point of the hammer spring? I'm assuming the trigger spring reduces the trigger pull, or do you need both.

Thanks!

The TTI spring kit definitely reduces the trigger pull. I have an M2 that has the whole TTI enhancements for competition and that includes those springs. I believe they also did some polishing as well so I can’t say mine is just springs.  I can say my trigger pull weight is about 2.5lbs.

The trigger spring and hammer spring are reduced power in the TTI kit to reduce the pull weight. Yes, the hammer spring also reduces the trigger pull weight because the amount of tension the hammer spring puts on the sear, the more weight it takes to release the hammer.  The down side to the reduced power hammer spring is reduced force on the primer.  I haven’t had any light strikes with my TTI M2 but it is something to be aware of.

I swapped just the trigger spring in my m4 to the TTI. It’s lightened the trigger pull considerably and haven’t had one light primer strike.  The trigger’s a lot lighter but not too light if that makes any sense. I never measured it unfortunately.

Can anyone tell me if the standard right handed M2 trigger group be converted to left hand safety?

Switch the safety to left handed operation using the notes below (which I copied form this forum). That is the only difference in the right hand vs left hand M2 trigger groups ( you will notice that the cartridge drop lever and bolt release are on the right side of the LH guns, just like the RH models)

Remove the trigger assembly from the receiver.

Drive out the pin (012A). Be careful, the parts under the pin are spring loaded and will fly out when the pin is removed. Cup your hand over the hole to catch them.

The spring (007A) and detent (008A) should fall right out now. This will free the crossbolt safety (013J) for easy removal.

Reverse the safety, reinsert the detent and spring.

Depress the spring below the hole for the pin and reinsert the pin.

Test thoroughly before loading!

Well written Steve.  I woluld ad, the challenge fore some would be:

Depress the spring below the hole for the pin and reinsert the pin.

If this is not done as noted, you will carch the safety spring part 22 and potentally destroy it.
