scott bernhard Posted January 21, 2025 Posted January 21, 2025 My Benneli SBE 3 1/2 has a frozen choke tube. Probably rusted. I have soaked it for 4 days in Kroil penetrating oil and still cannot unscrew it. any ideas? Quote
scott bernhard Posted January 22, 2025 Author Posted January 22, 2025 I have a 2001 Benneli SBE and need a new firing pin. I have looked nationwide at most Benneli gun parts distributors but have not found one. Any ideas anyone please! Scott Quote
remarkable Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 Send the barrel to Briley in Texas and have it cut out. Reach out to Briley for details. Mark Quote
NCswamp13 Posted January 31, 2025 Posted January 31, 2025 A little heat might work....but be easy with the heat. 1 Quote
bambihunter Posted January 31, 2025 Posted January 31, 2025 (edited) I agree with NCswamp13, heat. It works for rusted nuts and bolts. Of course I am not talking about a torch. I'd start with a hair dryer. Then move up to a heat gun. I think I'd stop there though. I doubt the metal is thick enough to try to chill the choke then heat the outside of the barrel (cold shrinks the choke, heat swells the barrel). It's probably so thin it'd be nearly instantaneous. I assume you've looked at Numrich, Brownell's and Midway for the firing pin? Edited January 31, 2025 by bambihunter 1 1 Quote
NomadPilot Posted February 18, 2025 Posted February 18, 2025 (edited) A good quality choke wrench that you can get some torque on it might get it out, or as the previous Poster said; send the barrel to Briley, or back to Benelli. Next time, put a little anti-seize on your choke tube threads & this won’t happen. Just a tiny bit goes a long way. When you clean your barrel always unscrew your tube and inspect your threads.
