BenelliBoy Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 I am looking to buy a 20 gauge towards the end of september and i was wondering which one is better. In your opinion.. I hunt Deer,Turkey,Ground Hog,Phesant,Squirrel,Rabbit, and i shoot clay birds, and targets.I hunt crow and waterfowl once in a while.. The prices at the local dealer is 870 Wingmaster 20 gauge-439.99 and i think the 20 gauge novas are like 300 in synthetic and like 350 in camo.. i am leaning more towards the 870 Wingmaster.. If you can help i would much appreciate it.. thanks.. Later, BenelliBoy Quote
fezman Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 get the 870 or a nice used o/u for a few bucks more Quote
BenelliBoy Posted August 29, 2004 Author Posted August 29, 2004 yeah thats what i plan to do is get the 870 Wingmaster.. They are nice guns and i like all of them that i have shot. Thanks fezman for anwsering me and my questions... Later, BenelliBoy Quote
Chessie Dog Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I've owned both and both are good guns. I'd go with the Nova, it comes with eyelets for a sling, three choke tubes and a five year warranty. If I'm not mistaken, the 870 has a one year warranty and no eyelets and one choke tube. Quote
upland04 Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 The 870, like most auto and pump guns has the safety at the rear of the trigger guard. The Nova's safety is forward of the guard and would definitely take some getting used to.................just a thought....................Upland04 Quote
goldeyeslayer Posted September 3, 2004 Posted September 3, 2004 I personally feel the wingmaster is a better weighted gun. The nova feels a bit barrel heavy. Quote
birddog Posted September 3, 2004 Posted September 3, 2004 I've got both and I'll say that I'm biased to my Wingmaster but, the Nova has been doin' fine. Quote
BenelliBoy Posted September 4, 2004 Author Posted September 4, 2004 i am trying to decide weather to get the 870 Express or the 870 Wingmaster. I am also trying to decide weather to get a 12 gauge or a 20.. i am not sure. I like 12's and i also like 20s . if ya could help me out that would be great. later, benelliboy Quote
benelliboy07 Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 hey man, im 14 and i just got a nova 12 GA . and i love it it doseint beet ya up to much .but i think that if ur afraid of the kick ,well just don't be .with a 2 3/4 its just like a 3 in 20 if not less ,and u can always work up to a 3 1/2 in mag . and theres recoil reducers. well good luck .
