  1. you are right, in that one cannot just bend 1095 hardened spring steel... I've broken several while making fabricating this product, and I continue to break them from time to time if they are not done 100% perfect with the right amount of heat. I have not worked with 4140 steel in this thin of material. The reason I chose to go with 1095 spring steel, it has high manganese content to give the steel more resistance to fatigue, and it also has a high elasticity. Also thanks for kind words on the design, I spent quite a bit of time fine tuning the aesthetics believe it or not.

  2. I just bought a 2016 NOS Flat Dark Earth M4 It didn't come with the original box but is un-fired and came with a new Pelican case.. I wasn't sure just how I would like it as most photos are all over the place on color, some with a green hue some darker, almost bronze in color and some much lighter almost sort of a spiced mustard color.. after getting it in my hands I really like it.. its darker then it looked in the photos I bought it from.. here are a couple pics of it.. the first photo is more like the actual color.. anyone else that has a Dark Earth M4 please feel free to post them here.... lets see the ones you have !!

  3. Just updating this product.. Still testing various designs on the mechanical fitting of the steel and titanium. I have settled on the weight, I will be keeping the weight of this charging handle no more than 12.5g, to match the weight of the OEM handle. The larger titanium handle (5/8" or 0.6") is adding a bit of weight to it, but I feel it is worth it to get a bit more grabbing area than the 1/2" diameter. Thanks.

  4. One other thing - I contacted Mesa Tactical and let them know about the stock loosening issue and the solution - Nord Lock washers! Hopefully, they will take note and include these in their products going forward, so we don't need to come up with solutions!

  5. I received a couple of messages on where I got the Nord lock washers from. You would be looking for a 5/16" Nord-lock washer. They come in steel or stainless steel. I just got the steel version. Here's where I got them. https://www.boltdepot.com/Nord-Lock_washers_Delta_protekt_plated_steel.aspx I've been using the same lock washer for quite some time now and it holds solid. When I recently unscrewed my stock the nord washer separated into two washers (they are two washers stacked on top of each other). I just put them together and screwed the stock back in. No issue. It still holds firm. You may want to purchase several. They are only $1.10 each.
