  2. Make a nice movie prop maybe. lol Honestly I don't have the wood, but checkering on the wrist look out of place with the rest of it, looks like it belongs on a mid priced 1970's bolt rifle.

  3. Heat the receiver evenly around the tube not both or youl expand both parts evenly. That’s bad. Get an inferred thermometer. Mine came off at a receiver temp of 250-256 degrees Fahrenheit. Took about 15 minutes with a heat gun. I assume much less time with a torch. I could hear the locktight separation at around 200. Sounds like little cracks. Use a hot mit and twist it off at the 250ish mark. I encountered no smoke. Your results obviously may vary from mine as some are stubborn.

  5. The supplier that does black nitride for me, they also offer a QPQ after checking with them. There are so many factors at play that have crossed my mind, and it brings me back to one of my concerns of black nitriding, which is thru nitriding of the very thin wall section on this part causing embrittlement and potentially failure. So I won’t be switching to any QPQ.. *shrug* maybe I’ve over thought the whole thing, but that is usually how I do things.

  6. I bought a lawn chair bag for carrying my M4. While traveling the bag doesn’t garner a second look in the backseat of the truck. At the end of the travel day, I grab the bag and walk back to the camper. Looks just like an RVer carrying their lawn chair! The zipper and the bag is plenty heavy duty and above all else does not scream ‘gun’.
