  1. Purchased a second set of handguards to stipple with a bit more of a mature/M1-ish layout, while preserving the originals. Apparently the “NEW” handguards purchased were of an older iteration, because they would not fit, as the mold did not have the notch for the barrel indexing collar. I fit the handguard and no one would be the wiser. Added a match saver, having to counter sink the nut to avoid piston contact. It worked well, but in hindsight, I wish I would have stuck to Velcro, given acceptance of Velcro as an accepted means for side saddles. Anyone know when Benelli transitioned to the use of the barrel indexing collar? These are a little more sheen compared to a more matte finish on current GEN….

  3. Some have different shape / length "noses" on them. I've wondered "Is there a reason? A benefit or down side? Or are they just made for different guns. I know the Nova and other models have one of a different shape, with the step in it. I'm pretty sure my SuperNova doesn't have the stock follower in it, but I'm also pretty sure I don't recall buying a "special" one for it. lol I need to check when I get home out of curiosity. I'm about to buy a couple Phase-5 blue followers... because they're blue. Being "colorblind", the red, orange and green ones all can all look a little too similar to a case head to my eyes.

  4. There's a notch on the receiver extension (the part that the stock slides on) between the 2nd and 3rd position. You hold the button and rotate the stock to the left, then it slides off. It can be a bitch to get it aligned properly.

  5. The polymer is actually stronger for impact resistance than the aluminum. People like like the idea of “metal”, but the current OEM polymer nylon trigger housing is strong.

  6. IMO not in any way. Honestly I don't feel it's worth it for anyone, but that's just me, I know plenty with disagree till they're blue in the face. (I have factory polymer as well as factory and aftermarket metal ones) I put a "pretty blue one" on my race gun because it was pretty blue. I've found no other advantage to it. I had to shim/peen it to fit the receiver well and not rock/rattle around. It's no easier to load with it. MAYBE it's stronger if I use my shotgun as a club and hope the trigger still works? Maybe not though. I only have one spare plastic housing and no spare metal one's, so I can't do a side by side torture test. Waiting on the federal funding.

  7. Almost finished with my Benelli M4 H20 , but wanting to put a red dot on it ( not a rmr ) any suggestions? I am not interested in a co witness. The ghost ring sights are great , but i do not want them on top of each other. I want a red dot above them so things aren t cluttered.

  8. I agree. The rail systems are generally retarded dog shit. You can pull the barrel assembly out without tools and access the bolt carrier. You only need tools of you want to service the Argo system. I don’t like that, but I’ll live with it until someone makes something better. On the other hand, the light placement and activation system is the best I’ve ever used. Flipping the button around so you pull towards you was the game changer, particularly on heavy recoiling platforms. The internal looming of the wire protects the wire from actual use where it’s snagging on gear or getting laid on the rocks. The HotButton is better than any switch I’ve ever used and I plan to adapt the style to my rifles as funds allow. I’ll have the IR head by mid March and I plan on going on an adventure with the Benelli in mid April out into the Mojave desert.

  9. Agreed with Doge. Notches farther down the tube offer little value for the end user. Few would use the positions since it changes your cheek weld significantly for the sights. Kind of like how the fully collapsed position is pretty much only usable for storage. If you placed your additional notches closer to the end, say .75" apart, it would give the end user more fine adjustment for getting a proper length of pull for their body types, or adapt for vests/armor. Glad to see you making these tubes for the market! I've installed hundreds of the OEM ones over the past decade. Looking forward to seeing how yours stack up to them.
