She's a woman. She's wrong.

I would expect it to be available in LH models eventually.

Very nice! Now let's see a picture of your namesake gun, the M1014
-
I considered pods, but this one levels off very well with two or three people in it. Three is a little tight, however.

No. Just the one day. I may go again Saturday, depending on the conditions.

Still, it was a good day. Goose poppers next week!

The point was rocky, but it was where we wanted to be. I've hidden the boat about 200 yards down the creek channel in some willows. Tommy to my right Sean to my left We're ready. Initially, about 50 settled about 300 yards above us, at the mouth of the creek. Around 9 Am, they moved off and we thought we were screwed. 9:30 - 10:00 was the hot time. First group had 8-9. We only got four. OK, cobwebs cleaned out. Now we're ready. Second group of 7. One left there with a limp. The rest were scattered about the mud flats and the creek channel. I got one with each shot and joked in my best Tom Knapp voice, "Ho, ho, ho... A triple on the Benelli cam!" We should have left right then, but we're hard-headed. We stayed on the spot for the rest of the day. After 10 hours or so, those darned rocks were quite uncomfortable. We turned a good morning into a long and uneventful afternoon. Had one more pair come in for a look, but never got close enough for shots.

A very nice cool morning by Southern VA standards. We setup off a creek channel in some flats, just off the main lake a ways. We've seen up to 80 birds using this area. Just a 1/2 dozen full bodies, but we put them on the X... or so we thought.

Storage box added doubles a middle seat. All flooring an decks were rolled with truck bed liner and then sprayed camo.

New aluminum braces for seat and grab bar, as well as aluminum bracing under the shortened front deck. I re-wired the entire rig yesterday, putting new switches in a more convenient location. She's all set to go out for the goose opener tomorrow! I just need to fill my spray bottle and remember to take it with me.

Plywood, 2x4's, carpet, and 2x2's out. My boat is no longer a termite magnet! continued...

Sewing the mud flats a few weeks ago. Not a big fan of summer. Can you tell? continued.....

Yes, but the Benelli may not cycle light loads. -

Those are the best three in the business. Try all three hands-on and pick the one that feels best to you. Enjoy your new Maxus. -
It should be under warranty. Call Benelli CS on Monday.

Shooting a RH gun Left-Handed for cross-eye dominance is fine. But you are truly left-handed, and you do most things with your left had, then operating the gun is easier and more natural if it's set up for your dominant hand.

I have a LH 26" in matte black. It comes with the factory tubes, a turkey tube, and a black cloud tube. It also comes with a receiver, stock, forearm, and mercury recoil reducer. Buy the barrel for $1200 and the rest is free.

I'm not comparing it to the shotguns. I'm comparing it to the R1, Benelli's previous rifle offering. Here's the quote from Benelli on the R1 - "The reliability of the R1's auto-regulating gas operated (ARGO) system has been proven in the US Marine's choice of the M1014 military shotgun and has been adapted for centerfire rifle cartridges with a three-lugged rotary bolt. The rifle's gas cylinder is positioned just in front of the chamber allowing for short operating rods and reduced recoiling mass." Look familiar? Does this not indicate that the R1 and MR1 are employing the same ARGO system? The one that wears out quickly? Benelli has always seemed to have a liberal way of describing their weapons. So I tend to take their claims with a grain of salt. Fastest, lightest, accurate, reliable, lowest recoil, etc., and so on. They make a great shotgun product. Rifles? I'm not yet convinced on their claims.

ACCOKEEK, MD (August 1, 2009) -- A combat carbine has to perform the first time, every time. The ultra-reliable ARGO (Auto-Regulating-Gas-Operated) system incorporated into the new Benelli MR1 does it for the U.S. military, and now can be the centerpiece of an effective home defense plan. The MR1 rifle, Benelli’s latest offering, is chambered in 5.56mm NATO (.223 Rem.) and uses the battle-proven ARGO system—the same system developed by Benelli for the M1014 and used for over a decade in multiple conflicts by the United States Marine Corps. The sights are a military-style aperture, adjustable for windage and elevation in the field, using only a cartridge rim. A Picatinny rail allows mounting of both conventional and night-vision sights, while retaining metallic-sight capability. All steel parts are black phosphated and aluminum parts are hard-anodized in a matte finish for low visibility and corrosion resistance. The Benelli MR1 carbine comes standard with a five-round magazine, and can also accept standard M16 magazines. An optional Picatinny tri-rail forend kit is available for mounting a laser aiming device, front handle, illuminator and other accessories. The MR1 features a stainless steel, self-cleaning piston that operates directly against the proven rotating bolt, thereby eliminating the need for complex linkages found on other inferior gas systems. This piston-driven system (ARGO), perfected by Benelli, incorporates a gas port located just forward of the chamber where the gases are hotter and cleaner, resulting in less fouling and more reliable cycling. In function testing the MR1 exceeded the military requirements without malfunction. The result is a Benelli carbine with Marine-tough reliability able to function under the harshest environmental conditions. “The MR1 is another great development, and certainly a major milestone for Benelli,” said Stephen McKelvain, Benelli's VP of Marketing & Communications. “Any shooter who appreciates accuracy and reliability will have to own a Benelli MR1.” Specifications: Model MR1 Caliber 5.56mm NATO (.223 Rem.) Don't throw away the factory rail.

Like duck and other dark wild meat, overcooking makes it dry, tough, and gamey tasting. A nice sear on the outside and pink on the inside is the best way. We did recipes here a couple of years ago. Here's the link, if you want to add to that thread. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14097 Bacon-wrapped with jalapenos and BBQ sauce is also killer.

These guys can't possibly be "real" duck hunters. I don't think any of them have bands on their lanyards. Until you get you some of those, you're no duck hunter.

I just ordered a couple dozen. I'll let you know how they do.
