  1. T-H, Thanks for posting those instructions. I am pretty good at pin work. Do you happen to recall if there was a special punch size needed? I have a excellent quality 3/32" and 1/16" punches. Or is something smaller needed?
  2. I wanted to try to do it myself. I understand the GG&G unit is tough. Were you able to do it yourself? M1014, That looks like a 1911 extended mag release. Where did you get it and how did it go on?
  3. I found three: http://www.arredondoaccessories.com/category.cfm?cid=1004,2008&PID=fc25l4901tgfeq&GID= $19.95 - looks like a drill and tap over the original button GG&G http://quanticoarms.com/asp/itemDetail.asp?dispItemNum=727&type=M&CMN=GG&G&CMNum=21&CMSNum=72&CMSN=Shotgun%20Accessories $90 and hard to install from what I hear. Replacement for the stock release. Celtic Mist Machining http://shop.tac2.com/product.sc;jsessionid=34839736F353EDF345296CD2AEAE04CD.qscstrfrnt01?categoryId=1&productId=1 $50 - looks like another drill and tap over the original button Any recommendations?
  4. Please don't forget that our (or at least my) favorite Republican President Reagan, sold all the class-3 shooters down the toilet back in 86. Anyone would be willing to screw us over if they despirately wanted something else passed - the old Washington horse trading game.
  5. I wonder if a '3 Gun Compitition' is considered a 'sporting purpose'?

    M-4 & eotech

I have an Eotech on my M1014. Love it. Splurge for a LaRue mount and you will like it. Add a set of GG&G Eotech covers and you have a super setup.
  7. I got mine from Optic's Planet. At the time, they had them in stock and offered immediate free delivery. It is a nice addition. I added a set of Brownell's locking rail covers and a folding forward grip. A light might be nice.
  8. I am not sure I found it. Did you buy the one for the 1911 and adapt it? This what you used? http://www.johnmasen.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=J&Product_Code=4542
  9. I'm looking for one too. Please let us know!
  10. I'm interested in a set if they are stamped 'Made in the USA' and the price is not totally obscene.
  11. I'll take one if it has Made in the USA stamped on it.
  12. I was looking for recommendations for a Tactical Bolt Release for my M1014. I found two: http://www.arredondoaccessories.com/category.cfm?cid=1004,2008&PID=fc25l4901tgfeq&GID= That one looks like it needs to be drilled and tapped to install. http://www.skdtac.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=442 Looks like it needs to have pins knocked out to install. Much higher cost than the first one too. Which is better? Any other recommendations?
  13. I think I had the same deal and I just played around with it a bit and figured it out. I did put put a good coat of oil on the barrel to let it move and as corrosion protection. Seemed to slip right into place with a bit of fidgeting. No force was necessary. You don't have it on backwards?
  14. SPF 9/14/2007 I got a used Mag Tube extension for a M4/M1014. Excellent shape. If anyone needs one and wants to make a 'reasonable' offer on a used one, I'll sure consider it. Email: [email protected] (Remove the DONOTSPAMME) if interested. Or you can post here. Please do not PM and that does not seem to send me an email that someone is trying to get hold of me.
  15. I just tried to put it together. No instructions are necessary (which I guess why none are given). You just remove the barrel and slip the unit over the gas tubes. The flexible stuff holds it on just fine. Then you slip it thru the mag tube and it holds in place. No screws, no need for locktite, even though they include it.
  16. Just got my Surefire M80 rail system for my M1014. It included the rail, some rubber 'ladders' and a tube of blue locktite. Nothing else - No install instructions! ARGH!!! Anyone have any advice on how to install it? I assume it just does not slip in like the original plastic ones else they would not have supplied loctite?
  17. I found that Optic's Planet seems to have them in stock now. I ordered and it shipped yesterday, and should be here Monday. http://www.opticsplanet.net/surefire-picatinny-rail-system-m80.html
  18. Thanks, I ordered one.
  19. Folks, Was looking for recomendations for a new (US made) mag follower for my M1014 to compliment my new mag tube that Joe just supplied. I see that Midway has some: http://www.midwayusa.com/ebrowse.exe/browse?tabid=9&categoryid=19190&categorystring=10636***10560***11422*** This one looks like it is made of aluminum. I found one that is teflon coated: http://www.cactustactical.com/osc/product_info.php?products_id=1257 but I am not sure that it will work in the M1014. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  20. Which Turner store was that? I would like to call them and ask if they can ship it.
  21. What vendor has these in stock? Last I check, they were not available.
  22. I emailed one of the vendors regarding availability. Here is their reply:
  23. I recently added an EOTech sight to my M1014 and I started to notice it FTF often. It seems to operate properly when I have it firmly seated to my sholder. When I shoot it from the hip it FTF pretty ofen. Generally when I shoot it from the hip the stock is not resting on any part of my body. I don't recall it FTF in the past when I shot it from hip. Not sure if it has something to do with added weight of the Eotech, or there is something mechanical going on. I clean it after every use. Have always used the same ammo. Anyone else have any FTF problems shooting it from the hip?
  24. I am intrested. Would like to see some pictures and hear how it attaches and if any modifications are necessary to mount it before I would order.
  25. That is Bob Cogan of Accurate Plating and Weaponry. He is in Alabama now. Does fantasic work. Just specify you want three positions. Only thing is that he has to remove the finish on the recoil tube and cannot refinish it. Very reasonable $.
