  1. I would like to know if they work on an M4/M1014 too. Manufacturer spec says they do. BUt I saw a review on the Midway USA sight that says it would not because the pistol grip interferes with it. Anyone know for sure?
  2. The one above is a two position tube. I ordered one and returned it. Keep your eye on GB. If you are patient, you will eventually find one for a reasonable price - usually one that gets no other bids. Don't feed into the bidding frenzy or you will overpay!
  3. WHat rail system do you have on that puppy?
  4. I can't wait for the Obomanation and Nanzi Polosi to export that to the entire country. As soon as they finish destroying our healthcare, take care of all the illegals - it is next up on thier agenda. Stack the ammo high and deep. Locally, I have seen ammo availability increase and some price actually come down slightly. Used to be Georgia Arms was sold out in 30 minutes at the gun shows earlier this year. Last show there was no line even.
  5. Nice - Enjoy your blasting! Best stock up on some 308 ammo!
  6. I just received the mounts for the ACOG and it is now on rock solid. I have not tried it yet but I like how the AR mount raises it up. I get a more comfortable cheek weld. The 2x is perfect, no problem with eye relief, focusing and a great sight picture. I am glad I did not go with any higher magnification. I also like the cross hairs too. Yes, they are, and noisy too. But a lot of fun for close up blasting! I bet our boys in Taliban land would love some M1a's - would do a lot of good by putting a lot of towel head dicks in the dirt!
  7. I started out with an Eotech and 3x magnifier with FTS mount as pictured above. No problems with that setup. Loved it. However, I recently had cataract surgery and all my red dots gave me a halo effect. So I am selling them all. I was very undecided about which ACOG to get. I settled on a TA47R-4: 2x20. More or less because I wanted used to save $. I kind of decided that I did not want 3x or higher magnification on this rifle (like I have on my AR). I don't use it for that long of a distance. It came with a low mount, but unfortunately that mount does not lock on securely to the weaver rails on the Sage. I tried my ACOG from my AR-15 on it and it locked solid as a rock. I also liked the little bit higher mount too. So I ordered another American Defense QD mount for a compact ACOG and a M01 special ACOG mount. Still waiting for the parts to arrive as they are back ordered
  8. I have owned a SOCOM since they first came out. I heavily modified mine with a Sage stock. I have NEVER had any reliability problems - other then when I failed to fully seat in the mag. But that was me. They are great. They are quite a bit louder than an Scout or a regular M1a, but you should be waring ear protection anyway. It has consumed any 308 I have fed it. That is an old picture. I am mounting a ACOG on her currently - once I get all the pieces parts that are on back order!
  9. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these three. I think you should decide what you fell best with. My comments: A Revolver is great as it will go bang when you want it. Easy to pick up and use as you don't have to fiddle with safeties. A SG is great too - super for multiple attackers. 1911 is fine if you are good at using it.
  10. You mean the three position recoil tube for the M1014 or M4? If so they are usually available on GB, and the prices can really vary a great deal. The other alternative is to send yours out to be machined. Bob Coagan of Accurate Plating and Weaponry can machine them if you want to go that route. I have one he machined that I would be willing to sell for a decent price if you wanted to go that route. The other alternative is that you can get the one that Numrich sells but it is only supports the two positions - fully extended and fully collapsed (no middle setting). Replacing the tube is not too bad. You really need a vice and a propane torch, small pin punch and hammer, and a 27mm wrench and a pair of vice grips. First, you totally disassemble the shotgun. Remove the pin that hold in the grip and unscrew the grip from the tube. Spray down the whole thing with gun scrubber as you are going to get this baby hot and if you have any oil or grease in it it will set it on fire. Put it in a well padded vice - I did use scrap wood blocks that did get burned. Rubber pads will melt. Have a 27mm wrench and vice grips handy. You really need to use a propane torch to heat it up as an electric heat gun does not get it hot enough. A very small flame is sufficient and will not damage the finish at all. You don't have to force it - when you apply enough heat it will just unscrew. Too much force just means you don't have enough heat. Heat that baby up and you should be able to remove the nut. While continuing to apply heat, use the vice grips (covered with a wet cloth to protect the finish) to gently turn the tube. Eventually with enough heat it will break free without a lot of force. Continue to apply heat or it will immediately dock up. I liberally applied red lock tight and put the stock back on to make sure it aligned up properly with the stock on and locked the nut down. Reassemble, relub and enjoy!
  11. Ok folks, I did it. It was not too hard. First, you totally disassemble the shotgun. Remove the pin that hold in the grip and unscrew the grip from the tube. 12. Trying to help out a buddy install a three position recoil tube on his 1014. I understand I have heat the **** out of the back of the receiver (heat gun I do have) to get it off. I'll have to look for something heat resistant to pad it in the vise. But I see the tube really does not have anything for a wrench to grab hold of. Anyone got any good tips or tricks to help me make this go easier? I don't want to screw this up.
  13. I have the 8 shell Mesa holder on my M1014. It does replace the top rail. It comes with new screws which are not quite a good match to the Benelli screws, but they work. It does not screw into the side of the receiver. They give you a little peice of foam rubber to put under the holder so it will not scratch the side of the receiver. My pet peave is tha tthe rail on the Mesa unit is the same Picitiny type rail that the Benelli originally had. My Eotech would fly off when I used a LaRue mount which will not work on a Picitany rail. I finally ended up replacing the LaRue with a GG&G quick release which works greats.
  14. May I inquire where you obtained a 3 position recoil tube? All the ones I have found are only two positions (fully extended and fully collapsed). I know you have have the third position machined, but I never saw factory ones come with three positions. A linky would be most appreciated!
  15. I have the Surefire for on my M1014. I did have some trouble with it. It would on occassion make it so that bolt would not go all the way back, causing a FTF. The fix was not very hard, and I did document it in a post here. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15449
  16. Dugan, I had the exact same deal with my LaRue. Mine was torns up in the exact same way. Actually my Eotech ended up flying off the front of the rail after it got all chewed up! I use a Eotech on my m1014 and took the LaRue off and used a GG&G Accucam Quick Detach Mount. That cured it! Never a problem again. There are some generic available to this GG&G product - don't get them, they are cheaply made and suck. Get the real deal.
  17. I just used the stock spring with Socomguy's fine extended one peice mag tube and never had any problems.
  18. I am affraid that CTD is well know for that. That is why I do no buy from them.
  19. I have the GG&G one and never had any problems in my M1014.
  20. I plan to get my son a lifetime membership for his Birthday in January.
  21. I have had my 1014 (similar to M4) for years and never needed to replace any parts yet except for those I replaced to enhance it - like rails, extended bolt release, extended mag tube, etc. Numrich has parts readily available so I do not feel the need to stock any.
  22. I contacted Dave via email a couple of weeks ago when I wanted to know if his safety would fit my m1014. He got back to me both times within an hour. Super service! Not sure why you are having problems.
  23. Joe, Congratulations. Yes, you have one of the Limited Edition ones I believe since it has the little flag. Mine does not say LEO though. Shoot it well. I believe the manual is available online. I don't have the link handy. I have the Marine Corp manual if you like it in PDF. Shoot me an PM with your email and I would be happy to forward. M1014 and I have both modded the heck out of ours. We love them. If you want the stock to fully collapse, I am not going to get into a legal debate here. Been beat to death. You have two choices. You can send your rifle to Bob Cogan at Accurate Plating and Weaponry and he will machine your recoil tube to three positions for a very reasonable cost. Only thing is that he cannot refinish the recoil tube to the original color, but it looks fine with plain metal. The second choice is you can get a two position new recoil tube from Numrich and replace your tube. It is VERY hard to remove your old tube. People on this forum have done it - it requires a tourch and application of severe heat. But even Bob told me that it would be a tough job for him to do. So beware if you choose that option. I can tell you that mine seems to like grease (Tetra Grease) rather than oil. Also it seems that if I don't have it firmly planted on my shoulder or hip, it can occasionally get a FTF. But it is truly a blast!
  24. Got the Dave's Metal Works safety installed. No instructions supplied, but Dave provides super customer service and answered my email in an hour. Installation was simple. Despite some other feedback I got on this forum, this part does make it much easier for me to disengage the safety with my trigger finger. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade for under $25. Works perfectly on my M1014 just like Dave said it would.
