  1. http://www.trulockchokes.com/interchange.htm easy to get confused and really need to pay attention when buying them, they get expensive fast! I do not own a berreta so i would stick with a choke that specificaly said your model gun. chart at bottom of screen tells what gun Benelli chokes fit and i would suspect if a choke is marked for both that it would probably work for both as in Benelli/Berreta hopefully this list will clear things up or give them a call before using!! Buying chokes ya gotta pay close attention on the application specs or you will have a bag full of spare chokes fast! http://www.trulockchokes.com/chokeidentification.asp
  2. i guess all the facts in first post could have solved this and Remington would have not gotten any props? just throw on a couple extra coats and LOP will adjust by itself!
  3. So what are the different LOP Pads for? Drop is not the only adjustment that affects shooting high! LOP should be done first and then ya might get back on board! Checking your shotgun barrels, choke and cartridge performance In the same way that a well-tuned and zeroed rifle allows you to shoot well with confidence, a properly patterned shotgun will enable you to do likewise, with important animal welfare outcomes. Patterning your shotgun is essential to determine for yourself that it is performing as it should. Some guns produce oval rather than round patterns, which can reduce margins of error in forward or vertical lead allowances. If gun fit is incorrect, the point-of-aim and point of delivery will be at variance. Stocks that are too short will cause you to shoot high and long stocks will tend to shoot low. High combs cause the gun to shoot to the left and/or high, low combs to the right and/or low. A proper length of stock with a high comb is deliberately incorporated in trap guns, which are used on rising targets where the upward (forward) lead would normally obscure the target with the barrel end, and where shooting high automatically provides that extra forward allowance. The comb is made thinner to stop the gun shooting to the left. Remember that your shotgun has no rear-sight and that this is replaced by your eye position and in turn by the position of your face on the comb of the stock. Patterning your shotgun will help reveal gun fit errors. A shotgun should be fired with both eyes open, with your dominant eye focused on the target, with the shotgun subliminally interposed in the gun-fit-mounted position. Importantly, if you shift your focus to the gun barrel at any time you will miss the target. This is called rifling the shotgun. Not a wakeman article!!
  4. here is another opinion of his! guess nobody knew of these issues? Nothing ever displaces fit, and nothing ever will in a scattergun, and personal preferences remain just that. My experience with the Benelli Super Black Eagle and related models has been less than satisfying. They kick, and in high volume shooting situations can pound you into the ground like a tent stake. Their triggers have been universally poor, and are hard to easily improve. No ranked shooter I know of bothers with them, but the SBE's have a strong following in the field, particularly for waterfowlers, as they are touted as "super-reliable." Horses for courses, like anything else. myself not being a competition shooter i bought a shotgun that fits my wants and needs and hope that is why yall are buying them also! I have no issues with recoil or trigger, just an opinion!
  5. Have you addressed your LOP with a pad or shim to increase you LOP? This could be only real thing to check other than sending back to Benelli to check barrel? Short stocks will cause this and only way to fix is fixing LOP! Length of Pull - The length of pull or LOP is measured from the forward face of the trigger to the end of the butt plate or butt pad. It should be measured to the point halfway between the heel (top) and the toe (bottom) of the butt plate. LOP is considered a very important measurement for any stock because the length of the buttstock will greatly affect how well you can hold your rifle and how well you will shoot. If the LOP is too short, you will tend to pull your shots to the right if you are a right-hand shooter. If the LOP is too long, the rifle will tend to ride upward and outward during recoil which will usually make you shoot low and to the left if you are a right-hand shooter. Reverse these directions if you are a left-hand shooter. For the air gun shooter, correct LOP can be determined by placing the buttstock along your forearm. Slip your trigger finger onto the trigger and the rest of your fingers around the pistol grip or wrist just like you would do if you were shouldering the rifle. Look down and see if the face of the butt plate or butt pad rests against your biceps. If it is just touching the surface of your biceps then the LOP is very close to being correct. You can further test for a correct LOP by shouldering the rifle and relaxing your right arm and letting your elbow drop as low as possible without being uncomfortable. Your elbow should be approximately in the centreline of the side of your body. If it's too far forward the LOP is too long. If it's too far rearward, the LOP is too short. These tests are just initial indicators of correct LOP. Because of variations in shooting styles you may still need to lengthen or shorten the buttstock to gain a correct fit. If you suspect the LOP is too short, you can experiment by using masking tape to affix pieces of 1/8" thick cardboard to the butt to see if this improves your hold. If the LOP is too long you can remove the butt plate or butt pad and see if this helps. Before cutting a buttstock to adjust LOP I would suggest referencing a few gunsmithing manuals to find out the correct tools for the job. Cutting a buttstock to shorten the LOP is not a difficult job but it does require specific tools and some specific knowledge on how to properly refit the butt plate so it will look correct. Whatever changes you make, remember to test them out thoroughly before making them permanent. Back to section list
  6. http://www.trulockchokes.com/chokeinfo.asp extended chokes will keep shotstring together longer for a longer shot say for Turkeys at an extended range or Geese at an extended range. Benelli also recommends not to use hevi-shot/steel shot in OEM chokes Improved Mod or Full and, they need to be aftermarket tubes which are specd for its specific use! due to choke damage if ya do use it with OEM Benelli tubes! here is some good info http://www.gunnersden.com/index.htm.shotguns-shooting.html explains a lot!
  7. nothing wrong with opinions!
  8. yep you will have to buy the Tritium sights Benelli PN #60795 probably a little less than 100 bucks. They can be ordered thru Benelli! I hate their catalogs they are so confusing and misleading but it shows them in the parts section in the 07 Catalog and the online catalog! http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/partsAccessoriesSights.tpl the ones below where it says tactical, i would call them and ask to make sure before you let a dealer order the wrong sights though!!
  9. which tactical stock did ya get? Comfortech or Pistol grip? http://www.tacticalshotgunner.com/meprolight-night-sights-for-benelli-p-100.html i thought the super nova came with tritium sights? dig around here! http://www.tactical-store.com/ & here http://www.gggaz.com/ also http://www.tacticalshotgunner.com/ lotta stuff around but most for M4 but you can find some Super Nova stuff! best bet is hang around till a Officer posts up!
  10. SBEII to me is a Waterfowl MONSTER and using it for other applications is possible but find a Range gun to be a whole different critter, as in a O/U or SBS which is the preferred Range/Upland choice. Do not get me wrong it will do it all but i have used it for clays and was limited to one shell in chamber on Trap and only 2 for clays, just a range master rule and caused carrpel tunnel trying to load all the time. My SBE II has NEVER malfunctioned so if ya break it in correctly it should shoot anything and for me it has shot everything!! would take it bird hunting in a heart beat but would rather have a Browning Cynergy Range O/U for upland and range shooting!!
  11. What would it hurt?
  12. http://www.limbsaver.com/Company/Contact%20Us/Contact.aspx?t=tech&n=Chris%20Perrott might be a good starting point?
  13. http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=9935_13769_6057_16906 call these guys and see what their wait is?

    2008 Benelli's?

M3T but it was not a new release for USA it was a European L/E or Gov Contract, nice looking folder. http://www.benelli.it/articoli/Armi_schede.asp?ID=779&idFam=7&Vista=FotoG
  16. http://www.impactguns.com/store/benelli_barrels.html these guys may have a few barrels?
  17. cheap ear canal plugs and ear muffs will give you great protection and will not break the bank! worked for me for 20 years around jet engine turbo props and most of the time it was cheap foammy ear canal plugs and Dave Clark headset but i aslo used just cheap ear muffs and i do have a little hearing left! If it is good enough for jet engines it's good enough for range, but important on who they put next to ya and what they will be shooting!!
  18. Seems this is not done a whole lot and props to you for sharing your pleaseant, patient, courtious experience! Glad somoene is happy with them besides the other 90% that share your opinion with their service!
  19. you need to move to the WWW and just slow down before ya get to left coast!! Police here are aware of gun laws and they should not be provoked!! Not too many are dumb enough to do that !! just keep your hands where they can see them and you have no problems!! guns get a bad rap and seems consumers pay the price for that in Canada, what a shame!!
  20. http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-70-398-2241/disasters_tragedies/montreal_massacre/clip7 seems this article says it was not banned? i think this is a really nice pack gun and hard to get it to malfunction and accurate enough at mid to close range even with small clip, just get a handfull of them! i would want it for bear before a shotgun anytime!! probably in the MIni-30 round though!! click on 2nd page of story and it states this!
  21. I thought i recognized the typical Senior Enlisted/Officer Test format, after 20 years i got real sharp on recognition of SOP BS! Nice the way everyone was baited and hooked and outcome was probably known during entire test, i guess i was the only one that did not pass
  22. Sorry to hear about the Mini 14 and why would they blame the Manufacturer? plain wrong and i will check out that article i am allways interested in a good read ebven if it does give ya a headache!! we used to fly in to GB with the USAF on our rotations to Mildenhall, UK 2 times a year and really enjoyed what little we got to see!! St Johns was like a College party town and we really enjoyed it!!
  23. Sounds like reliable firearm and worth the 4 bills!! Hey i used to fly into Goose Bay frequently and man is that place cold!! on occasion we would also get into St. Johns i believe it was! so ya shoot a group of slugs with it!! if it were me i would do the mini-14 or 30 just because it is one mean little reliable gun and packable with folding butstock! plus ya can get a large mag for them!!
  24. does this mean the test is over?
  25. no problem so ya been replacing a bunch a parts? how has the nova held up and do ya put it thru its paces? i thought about getting one and just did not wanta do the 870 and was going to restore a Winchester Model 12 but wanted something i could use and abuse without messing up a refurbished shotgun!!
