    Heavy Loads

Seems from what you have said i think ya probably allready have it broken in and after reading your owners manual i am cluless on what 36 Grammes shot load might mean and i used to reload shotshells, obviously that was back a few years when a fox squirrel had no chance in getting away from me! and only takes a few minutes to call Benelli C/S, i called a couple days ago and had my answer in less than 5 minutes! any round ya would shoot at Pheasant i would think would work on break in! Federal webpage explains the shot weight to grammes?? a little bit they said 1 1/4 oz shot weight equals 35.44 grammes which your manual say not to exceed 36 grammes if you have the 3" Mag 20, have not heard of anything smaller than 3/4 Oz and looked on hodgdons and federal sites and seems that is the smallest charge weight! good info on gramms /charge weights if needed!

    Heavy Loads

I would do the heaviest load i intended to shoot in that gun, so if ya going to shoot Turkey use a Turkey shell ie hevi-shot, If ya going to shoot Geese use a Geese shell ie hevi-shot, but for a skeet gun i would think the 3 3/4 Dram 1 1/4 oz #6 high brass would probably be heavy enough and a little cheaper than the hevi-shot if ya were not going to kill something. once ya break it in the low brass rounds should cycle and if they do not ya find one that does! Italian gun likes different shells than most! my SBEII likes cheap 7/8 oz federals and winchesters just a pian on the range loading one sheall at a time!

    SBE2 Quality?

Thats exactly what he claimed it was a bad shell? Seems if he manually cycled bolt ya would think he would take a look at what ejected and figure out what casued problem? After reading post again he said it snapped on him but no round fired so he cycled round and i guess he did not check ejected shell to see if the little red pointy thing was gone or still in old shell? Obviously it was lodged in barrell!! Go figure!! No casual C/S issue intended, just wondering if anyone else had problems with Hornaday SST's in their SBEII's guy seemed shook up pretty bad!! Was on Cabelas Talk Form under "SHOOTING" bottom of first page Thread named for Hornaday SST's Go Boom? Heneeds to brush up on gun safety /troubleshooting procedures from what i understand!

    SBE2 Quality?

So i guess the missfiring and cycling problems vanished without Benelli C/S being involved, that would be a good thing but funny how things fix themselves! read about a SBEII today that fired a Hornaday SST slug but, slug did not exit the gun and fellar fired another slug and gun blew up, almost blowing his head off. If i have the first issue Benelli C/S will be getting a call ASAP, missfires and cycling issues could be big problems if not attended to unless it's the old Italian Operator error syndrome! God forbid!

    SBE2 Quality?

Unfortunate that ya get a bad apple every once in a while! Hope he got these issues resolved or did benelli blow him off on fixing the issues and what were the fixes to his issues? Most of the negative remarks on the SBEII have been resolved by reading owners manual and learning to drive a foreign made shotgun, this shotgun has its own little way of letting you know i am foreign made and i have been shooting the SBEII for 3 years with NO problems! Did take me a few months to get used to it but it does not drive like an old FORD!! Some people have issue with being told they did something wrong but thankfully i am not one of them!! LOL well OK i may have issues some of the time but if "I" can figure the SBEII out maybe we all need to read owners manual or even call C/S instead of telling everyone here that we are CLUELESS by posting a bunch of operator error issues before even consulting Benelli! Just an OPINION!
  6. This inertia design is one of the cleanist shooting gas designed shotguns and really see no reason under normal conditions to clean frequently. Under extreme conditions i could understand frequent cleaning but unless ya trash it why bother cleaning a clean gun? guess if ya just wanta protect your investment could not hurt! were you using 7/8 oz # 8"s? cause my SBEII spits them out repeatedly with no problems, also the buckshot had to be over 1 1/8 oz?
  7. Go to home page and click on innovations and watch movie, explains a little about inertia system! Biggest issue is the weight of the gun versus felt recoil, heavier the gun lighter the recoil, lighter the gun heavier the recoil! Try Wixipedia, search inertia recoil shotguns and standard gas operated shotguns, they have great info!
  8. Have you shot it yet, and when ya do ya might wanta carry a 13mmsocket, shim kit and a 3/8 drive ratchet with a 6" extension, ya need to pattern it on a pattern board to establish your POA. Once you have done this it should be telling you which way it needs adjusted, so use owners manual and follow the instructions carefully. I made mistake of not changing lame front sight which i could not see to start with and i need to go back and pattern it again. just get a 36" square of card board and set it out at 40 yds and draw a small circle in the middle that is visible from 40 yds and get your POA and see where it is hitting and adjust it to your POA! Google shotgun patterning or gun fit and read a few articles and you will be hitting stuff and feel good about it in no time! Make sure to break it in IAW owners manual!! these guns have been known for not liking certain types of ammo so if it will not cycle it do not use it!!
  9. I saw no where in owners manual where it specified what size load was the smallest that it would cycle? I have a SBEII and it will cycle every thing i have loaded in it to include 7/8 oz Light loads for skeet with out a problem! I would call Benelli and run it by them!!
  10. M1 20 Guage only weighs around 6 Lbs so you can figure yes it will probably kick more than the 1100 Remington due to design and actual weight differences! But ya gotta love it!! How many rounds ya going to shoot thru it a year? Health issues with shoulder?
  11. If ya going with the SBEII go shoulder the 3 different lengths and see which one ya like and which feels the best and remember to pattern it before ya go shoot skeet/trap gun has adjustable features which will be an issue if not addressed! Never had issues with light loads in my SBEII just range will not let ya load but one shell at a time!! Some people have issues shooting light loads from this gun but feel that was due to improper break-in procedures, i suggested an O/u because i do not have one and my range an O/U is more practical but if your range will let ya filler up go for it!! MySBEII has not had 1 single malfunction "YET". I have noticed the O/U shotguns have a few more choke selections and most articles i have read, most ranges will not let ya load more than 2 shells in competition shooting? But if it's a local turkey shoot and no one cares by all means a SBEII would be overkill but worth every penny and biggest issue is adjusting the fit which does not take long!!
  12. SBEII IMO is not a range gun due to the hassels on loading it one shell at a time! City range here only allows 1 shell in chamber at a time but feel ya might wanta go with an O/U Ruger/Browning you will be much happier and your wrist will be forever grateful just do to the loading issues. I have been looking hard at a Cynergy Sport 28" for range shooting and their 32" swings really nice for a long gun!! length is not a big deal chokes and loads will gett ya where ya need to be! Gun fit is biggest player and if ya do not know how to just google it! shotguns have changed over last few years so ya might wanta check into that before spending big$$$ and not liking a semi-auto for range shooting! I hear the Cynergy 12 Guages really do not kick at all! but after owninga SBEII for 3 years i have become numb to recoil which IMO is not that bad!! unless you are patterning turkey shot!!
  13. not saying to purchase this stuff but to check out what some of the aspects of gun fitting include! some of the articles here explain how to adjust cast and drop and some good reading if ya never had an adjustable butt HEHE!! arrowlasershot.com
  14. Taught in Military to never use compressed air, why would you blow oil /cleaners on to your woodstock? or blow it into places ya cant clean without taking gun completly apart? Also taught to use lint free cotton cloth and a brush, course the gun we cleaned liked to be cleaned or it would not work, known as design defect!! made for good practise and never blowed dirt/chemicals into eyes. I suppose from what i have read that compressed air at 30 psi or lower is ok to use ? Found that on the briley website but not many other gun cleaning articles you will find perscribe compressed air! Briley also said to never leave choke tube tight in barell unless you are shootin it, they said to loosen when not shooting and to retighten prior to firing?
  15. He did you a favor and lucky he did not get hurt!! That factory sight was one of the first changes needed, lotta aftermarket sights that are easier to see than the OEM one!! the aftermarket sights come with the benelli size replacement screw in the package with the one i bought , think it was a Hi-VizTurkey with about 6 or 8 different light pipes!! So i guess yourfriend was lauging at you after you saw your modified front sight! LOL Must have not been a good friend and you must not care a whole lot about your shotgun? could a few beers been involved during this horrific event?

I guess this is the first time you have heard this soulution to this problem, ie, operater error thats what most people have issues with "ME" doing something wrong?? COULD NOT HAPPEN!! when ya learn to load it they will come as in hulls smokkin outta the side and meat on the table!! Cablea's has Shotgun recoil pads ya can wrap around your shoulder so ya do not get blood blister, probably need for hevi-shot if you are busttin 100 rounds a trip!! but ya might be surprised ya might try shooting some 2 3/4 rounds casue i used to never have issues killing ducks with them!! which shells are kicking so hard for ya BDOG? Old MUDHEN to the rescue i wish i could repeatedly answer the same old questions over and over again with the ability gingerly answer the word for word over and over. OOPS!!

Gotta love a quality shotgun even if it has those funny choke things sticking out the end, one of these days when i find out how to post utter nonsense and questions that answer them self i will ramble and ramble and ramble, but i thank Benelli for getting me a flawless SBEII or maybe they should thank me for not being a selective reader!! nuff said, yall keep asking the same old questions which are asked on about 4 other threads and maybe yall can figure out which answer applies to your situation? I know Tucker and Mudhen will keep yall in line and don't get water in your boots!! I do find the same old problems being answered over and over so i will be around getting a few laughs here and there and The Razorbacks will SMOKE those Cheese heads in the Florida Garbage BOWL!! WOOOOO PIG SOOOOOOOOIE

There ya go again!! but once again 100% correct, BDOG i hope you were paying attention and it's ok if you lost your owners manual!! just use some Mobile 1 or some ATF to lube your gun, a fellar on another website suggested using these products on all his expensive weapons. See i do frequent other gun forums but my my my ,the opinions really are kinda funny and sometimes quite complicated. Guess me originally being from Arkansas is my whole problem and i did inhale and no i did not vote for him so do not ask! Yall pattern some winchester extended range and let me see those smiles as you throw away a couple empty boxes!!

LOL!! No disrespect intended, i just wish we could all get along!! HEHE!! Is it not true that benelli says use their synthetic lube on their SBII's or am i above the 6th grade education level of reading that uncle sam has let me obtain? Also does the owners manual not say that if your gun will not cycle a shell it should not probably be in your gun to start with? Lotta people need help with simple issues wich are non issues and i hope their SBEII puts a blood blister on those who refuse to submit to the torture a SBEII puts out!! HEHE!! I feel like that guy in the benelli commercial that did not have the comfort tech stock and he got wacked back to the tree and just wished he had a benelli cause they do not knick as hard as a Browning?? sorry here i go again being incoherent, unintelligent and completly ,toatally WRONG so nuff said

Check out the Benelli website and find owners manuals and make sure ya read the British version and pay close attention in the SBEII manual on pages 48 & 54 i would be nice like Tucker and post links and underline and speak coherent but i am PC challenged and not a Comp Tech/Dr Burns, but most of what i have said can be found on these 2 pages!! My real problem is i am a retired "enlisted" C-130 Crew Chief with knowledge!! oops that was maybe TMI!! LOL, Oh yea after 217 days in Desert Shield/ Storm i surprise a lot of people but it's really the 20 years of Uncle Sam's BS that pushed me over the edge!!Your problem is a cheese head issue or maybe an Officer? Least ya got a great shotgun and thick skin no hard feelings and remember beleive everything ya read on this forum and good reading!! Tucker can help you with larger paragraphs since he is DR PHIL/BURNS HUFF HUFF!! [ 12-03-2006, 05:24 PM: Message edited by: HOGWILD ]

need to read again and thanks for the compliments and maybe you will be able to figure out that everone else on this forum is telling all of yall the same thing and hopefully that thin skin will tuff in time! it's called report post as in whistleblower!! not here to cause trouble just share an opinion that some of us here look for guidance but never follow it!! and yes i have issues similar to yours but thin skin i am not, intelligent i never claimed and immature well i thought we all had issues with that? Oh yea if you have been chatting on boards for that long how did ya find a gun chat forum? HUFF HUFF! guess you area a selective reader?

guess the cheap shells and shells that benelli says will not fire in your gun are the ones you should not use in your gun HUM! as far as you that reload shot shells i would pay close attention to where it list a charge weight, that i used and measuered it and why would someone reload light loads is beyond me but cheap primers or wet primers could be a problem especially if ya spill beer on them as your are reaching to pick up your smoke that hit the floor! oh yea if the shoe fits put it on HUF HUF!

quit shooting shells your gun will not shoot like the warning in the owners manual tells ya to do!! if ya can't handle 2 3/4 shells get ya a .410 ya gotta love a thummper, benelli also warns about not using any other oil than the one that comes with your gun, quit drinking long time ago but still have owners manual and just seems some people would complain just to be complaining! Most skeet shooters in know do not use SBEII but when ya go to shooting reloads and walmart special shells especially light loads ya should be able to figure out that maybe i should spend a couple more quarters and buy some worthy shells!! HUFF! HUFF! Gotta love the recoil or are we going to moan about a shotgun that kicks? PLS!
