Great to hear all is well!! The best part is that i learned from just reading your reply!! maybe someone else will read your post and learn also, cleaning a shotgun is a work in progress and most think they know all, but are pleasantly surprised when you post great info as you have! Thanks!

So i take it the smith could not repair your damadged barrel?
-
Would be much cheaper to send shotgun (SBE) off and get it dipped!! www.300below.com this is info Benelli gave me as to whom to use to Dip a barrel! Just email them and they will send you instructions and prices! unless you can get a SBEII barell for less than 200 bucks cause you can get one dipped complete probably for under 175 including your SBE tubes!! as much as a new SBEII barrel cost i would not buy it without their tubes but most people use aftermarket tubes anyway! i hardly ever use factory tubes, skeet & trap chokes are about only factory tubes i use!! a major purchase like a SBEII barrel would have me calling CS !!

Been a while since i hunted with BS but what will you be hunting? the 3.5 round out on the market seems to be few and far between and thier velocitys seem lower but pellet counts are higher!! If it were me i would be hunting deer in thick woods like i did when i was a youngster i would just use the 00 BS, and my old 870 only had full so it did a decent job, never went hungry!! just take it to pattern board and give it a whirl to see if your gun fit is ok for you and make sure your pattern is on line!! i would do this before hunting anything with it so ya did not waste time and money and come back swearing about this thing could not hit the broad side of a barn!! SBEII are adjustable and seems people have issues with not knowing it was adjustable and are surprised to find pattern 10" low at 40 yds!! if it was home defense i would go with 2 3/4 more pellets higer velocity, hunting i would go with larger pellets for large game and

If you are apprehensive on replacing just take to a smith? even if you do not wear benelli underwear!
-
Most of these screws are sold in a bulk lot anyway and not too many people going to have a kit but a smith, and he would possibly need to grind the front screws per weaver website? might not apply to all applications just a note on their website stating possible grinding due to length on the SBEII?

Allowing an avatar would be nice also!!

[email protected] http://www.holsters.com/concealment/holsters/model27.asp since your post was not calibre specific it could be one of the ones at the second link be it a rt/lt hand??

Looks to me like melted plastic from crimp on hull that has stuck to barrel and run ya a bore snake thru it and work it just in that area with some Hoppes #9! This happens to mine every time i use it and thats why ya need to keep barrel free of obstructions!!
-
Good point and people need to handle their ammo with more care which majority do, but ya got those few that could care less where the round came from and how it has been handled and i feel majority of those rounds have been misstreated which is a recipe for a missfire! On occasion ya get bad powder but manufacturers keep their eyes open for this and test when needed!!

So yall have all the answers but no one will tell the man what is wrong with his shotgun. Seems like if ya do not like my opinion turning on the ignore button would be an option? I would not suggest to anyone to modify a firearm unless i was a qualified gunsmith and we have a group of them here that have good fixes for some issues but feel strongly that Benelli would have issues with people telling others to do improper modifications which would void a warranty pretty quick. SO if yall have not got the fix let the man call!! like Benelli has instructed in the above header with their CAUTION STATEMENT, guns even new ones have issues and if i had one doing what his was i would call benelli before i trusted either of yall's opinions which seem to be just wanting to trash me for giving a simple suggestion!! just remember the ignore button can be selective kinda like an opinion!!
-
No dissrespect ment oldman!! Benelli does not want people answering C/S questions and thats probably one they would prefer to answer. any issue that is not addressed or fixed from their troubleshooting page tree i am sure needs their attention!! i would be hesitant to just take anyones opinion on a shotgun malfunction from a forum from someone i have never seen!! some malfunctions on the benellis have been due to a few actuall problems and need sent back to be fixed and the others mostly are operator errors which are the cheapest and easiest to fix once ya have figured out you have an Italian shotgun and yes you have read manual!! A quick call to the correct people will be better than listening to 5 or 6 people all telling you something different and eventually saying!!! call Benelli C/S and get an R/A to send it in or maybe they can fix over phone?
-
I would think that a 4 month old post on operator error would probably have been figured out by now but maybe not? Operator error has been beaten to death and if someone wants to shoot bad ammo they should be made to duck hunt with old ammo!

SBEII 80155P http://www.therightgun.com/images/guns/gunsA-F/ben015a_lg.jpg kinda expensive and could probably be found cheaper but this is a benelli Factory model!! does not say on package 12 or 20 but i bought mine for a 12Ga still have not installed it but it is not for sale but the one shown is!! way to much though!! 285.00 is a tad much but i would really like to have those boxes behind the mag extension!! they are worth BIG $$$!!

The winchester supreme and the Extended Range are 2 completly different animals but both do pretty good it's just the ER is like twice as good as the supreme!! the supreme will work great for closer shots and ER is what it says good for longer shots due to design and $$$. plus it works as a tenderizing agent if you shoota liitle low at longer ranges. night and day difference in patterns though!!
-
oh tucker you the best !!
-
Jelly Heads are longer and advertise to have a better pattern density and porting is slightly different!! slows wadding faster to help pattern! Jelly heads are for the SBEII's which use the different thread setup!! notice the tight wads are for the benelli/beretta styled choke systems which like i said have different thread styles!! the tight wad i believe if you tried to insert in a SBEII would not screw in cause the threads do not reach far enough into barrel!!
-
BOTH!! Benelli reccomends a synthetic quality grease in their troubleshooting guide!! i use a Browning Midas grease in a couple areas and also for choke threads! It comes in a needle point applicator like a Hypo!! very good quality grease! these guns do not require repeated cleaning due to their design but benelli says if ya treat it bad just break it down and give it a quick clean & lube just keep the wd-40 and remoil away from this gun and you will be ok!! Lotta people use FP-10 some use miltec-c and some use hoppes#9 and hoppes oil, just do not leave excess amounts of any of it around to collect sand/dirt! can't believe you did not get the SBE cleanup PDF from DW!!
-
just click on search and type in SHIM and read a few post!! if ya have questions after that open manual !! POI high lower stock !! POI low raise stock!! you have to take look at the plastic shims and see which one is missing from your shim bag and your gun manual says you have 4 shims a,b,c,d & z and you want POI to go up 10"'s you would probably need to go up 2 shims but as soon as ya did ya probably would need only the next one up!! would be best just do one at a time as easy as it is to change!!
-
seems your spanglish is better than your english DW!! i also enjoyed no body complaining about his caps lock stuck on!!
-
Not unless you wanta ruin your barrel and shoot the choke outta the end of the barrel! benelli told me in 2003 no hevi-shot or steel thru Full or Improved Modified but ok for modified, Improved Cylinder & Skeet tubes which are crio tubes! i would probably call C/S on this one or email them!!
-
How does she like it? was it the correct gun for her? I could not see her not liking it but ya never know!
-
order a bunch then ya will have extras for fall season!!
