The getting beat to death by a 12 gauge is just as apt to happen with a 20 Gauge, numerous reason and if ya can't figure them out ya probably have not shot many shotguns!! Different scenarios will pose different recoil results and the 20 is possible of a higher recoil than a 12 when set up differently!

Chokes have a HUGE deal to do with this equation and probably the next too most significant role, Winchester Supreme Elite Extended Range would probably be a close second. Of course if ya can't hit the broad side of a 4x4 pattern board why go? Would also help to understand operation of your shotgun a little and the quirks an Italian shotgun has over say an 870, the old ones were tough but the newer ones seem to be a bit skimmpy on quality. Took me a while to figure out the SBEII but it has never hickuped not one single time and i have shot a lotta different loads with no problems!! I did take my gun to range countless times before going hunting with it just to get to know it and it was challenging but best shotgun i have every owned by far!! will never trap shoot with it agian on city range , they only allow 1 shell in gun at a time and i had carpul tunnel by the end of 2 rounds!!

I agree 100% yall should get at least a set of standard tubes at minimum, they are not that expensive, but i know the feeling, i have purchased a couple aftermarket tubes for Turkeys and they are expensive!! I think you miss understood my post, if you have a 2004 M4 they did ship with 3 tubes, the 07's only shipped with 1!!! If you just got a brand new m4 they will not ship you the other 2 chokes!! was your shotgun a M1014 Limited? if so the 04 catalog says thats what you were supposed to get! if it was a M4 you should have gotten c,ic,m

I have a 04 Catalog and the M1014 Limited shipped with MOD ONLY!! The M4 used to ship with the C,IC,M tubes but ya look in the 07 online catalog and they advertise only the C tube. The M1014 which is LE/Military only now is the gun that shipped with 3 chokes, i would think that a set of chokes should be sent with this expensive of a shotgun like others!http://www.benelliusa.com/customer-service/pdfs/BE_Final_12_8_06.pdf

So what other shotgun company does the stuff you were speaking of ? Benelli does have issues with manuals but being an Italian Shotgun and their explanations of their manual is unusual to say the least but, most people once they get used to the gun can get used to the manual as if most read it anyway? Some gun shops will fit you to your gun but would be reluctant to say they would not charge ya for it!! Shims affecting recoil? nuff said!!

They changed a couple years ago and only ship Cyl chokes with that gun, Catalog has been changed and shows which choke this gun is shipped with. Guess Benelli got tired of giving away choke tubes that were no longer advertised to come with that shotgun. I do agree a standard set of tubes should come with any of their shotguns but obviously they have issues with the gun needing a complete set?

Seems your adjustments have not taken care of your problem and now that you know Sportmans was their for the sale i would call CS! they do not send gun to Italy and turn around time should be around 3 to 4 weeks from what other poster have been posting! What range were ya patterning at? I am not easy to please especially after spending 1300.00 for a SBE!! that has never had an issue knock on wood!! I did get rid of that lame front sight that it came with i could not see it it was so small. SX is only for Lt handed shooters cast adjustment, if you have the z shim in that is supposed to be the highest upward adjustment so you should go down which you allready said you have and it did nothing so I would call CS and give them a chance, your stock could need trimming where the shims are fitted just a thought?? leave the ropes alone and call Benelli CS cause Sportmans can only ship it for ya or do minor adjustments like install a scope they sold you, they are not an authorized repair facility and they would void your warranty if they did mess with it!!

Just depends on what ya going to shoot and type of rounds ya plan on shooting Beretta shotguns are Fine shotguns but if ya have a medical condition that limits your recoil ability the 400.00 would be well spent but i would shoot one before i bought one!! Gun manufacturers are in the business for one benefit, which is their benefit and they can claim loads of stuff but see if ya can find one at a range and see if they will let ya shoot it!! Shotguns of almost all types have heavy recoil and their are differences in felt recoil but at the end of the day they are a shotgun!! I have heard that the Browning Cynergy's have very low recoil!! I was looking for an OU and lotta people say they just do not kick hard at all!!

Actually Spotsmans warehouse can do more than walmart and i would either let them do what they could for ya and be happy or just call CS yourself and bad mouth Sportmans and Walmart? Seems you have issues with recoil from other post? is this cause for a flentch/jerk try some 2 3/4 rounds and see if they pattern the same. Which spacers do you have installed at present?

I guess if waterfowl Winchester ER HD's will penetrate 3/4 " plywood at 50 yds you can imagine what a #5 or #6 Turkey rounds will do and old Tom will not like it!

This is explained in the 2007 online catalog, and is not real easy to find or understad info kinda like owners manuals. Basically the NOVA Turkey and Slug Steady Griped models are tapped and drilled along with the Super Novas Comfortech Slug models are also! all others are not. The 04 catalog reflects same info! basically standard novas, if it has a standard stock it is not tapped and drilled unless it was done after purchase! If they have a comfortgrip or steady grip stock they are T&D for scopes.
