Tone Loc, STA is correct about the mag extension in the PRK. I think my old brain is confused with the 922 issue (5 rounds being a Fed thing) Here is the link to the pdf file and DoJ site. Happy hunting! pdf main site Support your local PJ

STA, Are you sure about the 2 shot extension in the PRK? I thought I read in their DOJ site (a pdf file) that stated something to the effect of 5 rounds being the limit for semiauto shotgun WITH a pistol grip. This was a few months ago and I have lost the link. It was in the same section that described the banned shotguns by name and showed pictures ie. Franchi laws, DAO etc etc. Based on that info I stripped my M4 down back to basics to attend a little training session out there. Only the noncollapsible pistol grip stock (nonskeletonized) was acceptible as I recall. Hopefully I'm wrong. In that same section, there was no restriction if you had a PUMP gun that could hold , say, 8 rounds, but with a standard stock. Support your local PJ

Tone loc, For the M4, a telescoping stock is illegal in Kalifornia, as well as the 2 shot extension. Kalifornia DOJ rules prohibit the same as ATF&E, but unlike ATF, there are no exceptions in regards to firearm content (being import or not). The PRK just don't allow it, period. Thanks Jakjakman! Looks like there's room to spare! Not having held this forward rail in my hands, does it have a rubber/nylon bushing so there's no metal-metal barrel contact? Or is a slightly scratched barrel the trade off? Support your local PJ [ 06-11-2006, 03:55 PM: Message edited by: AFPJ ]

That's wierd. I'm curious if you think your surecycle tube has the same inner diameter (therefore wall thickness) as the orginal limiter tube? My spring cap slides right through because my surecycle tube is thinner-walled. Yep, according to Jeff H. at surecycle, I am the only one with a problem reported. Figures Support your local PJ

Wingbone, Any problem with the spring? Congrats! Looks mean, if not a little pixelated Support your local PJ [ 06-10-2006, 12:42 PM: Message edited by: AFPJ ]

Jakjakman, here are pics of the surecycle extension. I think your forward rail will fit since the collar, although fatter, is shorter in length. Yes? No? Hope this gives you enuf info wingbone threadkiller Support your local PJ [ 06-09-2006, 11:13 PM: Message edited by: AFPJ ]

Wingbone, I just put on a surecycle extender. See my post 'another M4 extension'. Although I don't have a forward rail, it looks like it should fit as the rail may be moved slightly rearward from where Jakjakman has it (I think, by analyzing the pics and looking at my M4 with that wider collar on the extender). Hi all; I tried SRM/surecycle's version of the M4 2 shot extension. It did not work as exactly specified so a couple of minor mods and it seems to work. Namely, couldn't get all 7 shells to fit using their spring, so reverted back to original spring. Also, the spring retention cap is too loose in the aftermarket extension, so I expanded it to fit. (the surecycle tube inner diameter is larger the Benelli's) Curious if anyone has tried this product and got it to work without modification? set free wo a chute... [Wink] Is that like fastroping without the rope? My back is hurting already. You burst my bubble about the ATF...I thought all those guys knew everything and carried desert eagles, wore dark sunglasses, and answered to Agent Smith ... Support your local PJ

Hey Duggan, My trigger group looks the same ( no missing metal) I really couldn't tell how much lateral play you had on the video (old eyes don't work so well on a 1 inch square avi) but mine only moves 1-1.5 mm...it is not rock solid but most of my other toys have some play too, the exception is my Colt M4, which doesn't move at all laterally, but still has a heavy pull, creep included. I don't have a trigger gauge, but the Benelli M4 pull seems OK to me, but I am afterall a shotgun newbie. My only other is a 16 ga Winchester 24 SxS..good for marrying off my daughter Support your local PJ

Yeah, I'm one of them alright. Got to keep things clean and below radar Support your local PJ

That seems like a bit of lateral play. Did you call Benelli? They give you any idea what is in spec? Since I have only one M4, I can't really compare what's missing or not on the trigger housing metal...hope you can post a pic...and keep us posted. Support your local PJ

Thanks for the info. I saw the Extension tube they have on SRM's site that comes with a spring and follower. Seems that the collar is a bit wider than Benelli's. Know anyone who has SRM's extender? Support your local PJ

Hey M4Madness, That's outstanding! So adding BOTH a Benelli made telescoping stock AND tube extender would fall within 922r if 1 of the 11 items was switched to an US made part?? Since I am a shotgun newbie, I am sorry for asking this but where does one then get a mag follower. Are they all the same? I was wondering what happened to this subject, but had assumed it was no longer an issue since it seemed that everyone had the telescoping stock AND tube extender anyway. Thanks for the clarification! Support your local PJ

What makes it not exactly...? I am seeing about everyone with an M4 + telescoping stock + 2 round extension. I thought that combo was not 922r compliant, but last I read about that on these forums was last year. Even Benelli has the telestock as an option on the web site which seemed 'controversial' 1 or 2 years ago. Support your local PJ

Would've been a little cheaper! Support your local PJ

What do you mean by excessive wobble? (serious question, not a Clinton response) My trigger has a bit of lateral play, measuring about 1.5 mm at the tip (free edge) of the trigger. I haven't really paid attention to my other weapons. What would you consider excessive? Your other M4's have absolutely no lateral play? Thanks for info. Support your local PJ

Hope somoeone can explain this obsevation as I am a newbie shotgunner: We shot a Nova 18 inch barrel alongside my M4. Nova has fixed choke, no idea what. Used a modified in the M4. With small pellets ie 7 bird shot, the Nova patterns much wider than the M4 at 7 yards. But as the pellets got bigger, the Nova sigificantly tightened its group while the M4 was fairly consistent. Finally using 00 buck, the Nova seemed to pattern into a 3 inch hole...no spaces between pellets!. The M4 was still about 6 inches. We've decided that #4 buck was probably best for home defense. A 3 inch magnum left us stunned and both our shoulders aching for a few minutes. Thanks for any info. Support your local PJ

That would seem to make sense (CL=cylinder). How long did it take from customer service call to arrival? Customer service knew exactly what I was referring to and apparently it has been quite common, but when they said they will get it out soon, wondering what that means in real time. Thanks for the post. Support your local PJ

Don't know about anyone else but I would be very interested in those results. Especially if you can also compare with your son's 870. Wonder how much difference 4 inches of barrel makes at close quarters. I don't know about muzzle breaks on shotguns...they're supposed to have no affect on patterning?? Support your local PJ

jj Curious if your M1's have anything tighter than cylinder for choke. I haven't really paid attention to that stuff until recently since I acquired my own M4. Have to ask the armorer what the breaching guns have. Support your local PJ
