  1. Wingbone, I never tried a factory extension...the surecycle extension has to removed for takedown. Are you impying that the factory extension and Nodak's can be left on for takedown? I just went for absolute price since I am a tightwad (wife calls it something else) and only care about function, not looks. Yes the surecycle ain't pertty.
  2. I have the surecycle on mine. The full mag extension is nice...VERY nice, according to all (especially the ones from SOCOMguy) but I didn't want to fool with the heating up the part etc of putting it on. The following thread has some discussion of the surecylce compared to Jakjakman's factory extension and it's relation to the sidearmor attachment. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7988&highlight=afpj Below is my surecycle with some measurements to compare with (my original post lost the link) http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g225/afpj1/m4/DSCF0599.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g225/afpj1/m4/09062227.jpg

    Benelli vest

I have no experience with these fancy shooting vests. What makes them that pricey? Granted our kevlar/spectrashield military vests are not cheap, but at least those have ballistic protection with a few pockets. The rescue vests have alot of pockets but aren't cheap either. Do these shotgun vests have gel pading in the shoulder area? I'm just curious as I never seen or worn one, and I rather spend the money on 2+ ext for the M4. Thanks for any info for this sport shooting newbie.
  4. Thanks. That's interesting. I didn't take a pic of the lower lip because it is clean.
  5. I never really noticed until reading this thread.
  6. Sorry, wasn't specific enough. I was referring to images being attached. The attachment manager tab suggests you can attach an image to the post, but I cannot attach one by clicking a file on my hard drive. It need to be uploaded to another site first. I have to use a URL, as you did to photobucket, to 'link' the image. Not a IT guy so I hope these terms are correct. Does that make sense?...I'm dizzy now...breathing too many electrons. Gunpowder smells better....
  7. Thanks for the info. The Mamba sling on the COlt M4 doesn't have that much elasticity that it would have an uncontrolled return, but I see your 'point' re:m1014 Happy New Year!
  8. Great post...thanks and Happy New Year. I can't seem to add an attachment though. Says I have uploaded the maximum number. I can only supply a URL for a attachmnet/pic. Are you able to add an attachment directly from your computer with the attachment manager? Thanks for any info.

    New M4 range report

Welcome to the dark side. The emporer will be pleased. Now to spend more $$ on optics, other mounts, sling, mag extensions, light saber bayonet....Congratulations and Happy New Year!
  10. Happy New Year! If that ammo has a somewhat yellow/gold and black box, then I have used it. I know I used Federal LE 00 buck, but can't remember 'tactical' on the box. It sure did not feel low recoil to me, but I distinctly remember using it after trying 2 rounds of 3 inch magnum 00 buck, and my shoulder hurt for anything after that. My Benelli has used everything including 'low recoil' buckshot and super-lite target loads without a hickup thus far.
  11. SGTMAJ, I have a Mamba sling for Colt M4 and worked well for 'thumping' someone, wonder if you think a similar sling would work in combo with the breeching cap on the Benelli? I currently have no sling for my Benelli but not really in the business of breaking in, just home defense now. Curious as to your thoughts. Regards and Happy New Year!
  12. Ditto on d's comments. I shot 1 box of 25 'standard' 71/2 oz lead shot at the range, then it ate everything including Winchester super-lite target loads...NO problems whatsoever. see this thread http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6636&highlight=m4+break+in

    Benelli vest

I read somewhere that there is a lack of a Benelli vest. Since the threat of a trial lawyer getting to the white house is high (john edwards, hillary clinton), I think Benelli wants to keep everyone safe. Here is a prototype shooting vest for the field, for that person who was wanting a Benelli vest. Pants optional.
  14. Not true 1913 spec? Or is it just poor qual control?? I have an Elcan tactical on Colt M4 that interchanges easily between the Benelli M4. Also the reddot on the Benelli fits Colt M4. They must have looser tolerances than the LaRue, but they both feel tight shot to shot. I have not mic'd the rail to see if Benelli and Colt rails are the same.... Interesting Support your local PJ
  15. oh ****, I as wondering about all those asterisks too. Didn't even occur it was an admin deal, thought it was some email/chat abbreviation like imho, omg, wtf, etc etc. It sure makes reading about s****s somewhat ****ish. What's so bad about saying **** anyway? Support your local PJ
  16. toolman, I am new to the slug concept. and I took out the M4 past w/e and shot Brenneke KO and Remington low recoil...both were very accurate at 40 yards (the max length of the range I was on) I am thoroughly impressed (as apparently my brothers are in the sandbox out east) with the M4's slug capability. Don't know if hunting slugs are different in any way, but it might look funny hunting with a combat shotgun . If you put a bayonet on to ensure the animal is dead that may impress the game warden. Just my 2 cents Support your local PJ
  17. If I was a marine I'd say ooraah! But I was AF so we don't have a grunt...just what we learned from the Army guys at jump school...watch that last step! Support your local PJ

  19. I have the sure cycle on my M4. It's finish is not the same as factory, and it has a collar as it shows on SRM's website. But, it functions just fine. The stainless steel spring they supplied was too long. I could cut it down but decided to save it for something else and use the factory spring and it works fine with having all 7 of the2+3/4 inch shells stuffed in the tube now. This is designed for combat, therefore I don't care about looks, just functionality and the price was right. Hence I did not order this gun with gold inlaid ducks, geese, terrorists or other fancy scenes. Support your local PJ
  20. I've put 3 inch magnums down to Winchester AA super-lite target loads through my M4 and there have been zero failures. I should clarify that I put 50 rounds of superlite stuff through, but only 5 rounds of 00 buck 3 inchers because they hurt! Of course, it had the obligatory 100 rounds of breakin shots already. Have fun. Support your local PJ
  21. Jakjakman, I found a couple of doctor optic red dots, but there is a significant price difference between the two. Is one of them what you have, and I sure hope it's the cheaper one. Thanks for any insight. doctor optic link Support your local PJ

    m4 collapsible stock

It only has two parts...the pistol grip and the stock...I am assuming that's all that's supposed to be there. No instructions either. Thanks for everyone's replies. As we celebrate this weekend, please remember those who made it possible... heroes Support your local PJ
  23. I found a collapsing stock (Benelli factory) for $130. Is that a good price? Gunbroker and gunsAmerica have the same 2 or 3 guys selling theirs for $190-199, but it seems they never move. I didn't know if they were going to be like those factory extensions... Support your local PJ
  24. My 2 cents: I shoot trap with an over-under. I then tried it with the M4 and did miserably. I'm not used to looking at a 3 dot site when I have been trained looking down a long barrel with 2 beads that line up. I finally started hitting some with further practice (about 50 clays!) and have settled on the mod choke with 7-7.5 bird shot. As goofy as it may look, I did much better with the red-dot scope on the M4. Support your local PJ
  25. Hey Starlynx You want an actual representaion of the LZ? Man if you get one that you can actually recognize with NVGs, I'll come out of retirement. Hehe Support your local PJ
