  1. Ya, what you said. LOL. Its also called a standoff device. I meant what you said, but just typed it wrong. Sometimes it gets lost in translation when you type instead of speak.
  2. No tellin buddy, no tellin. I am actually fitting one to my Ithaca 37 as we speak. I started the project about 8 months ago lookin for a barrel with one already added, but never came up with one. I first saw the one piece barrel/attachment on the mossberg and thought, Man, I gotta have that. So I been playin with it on my Ithaca for awhile now.
  3. A breaching choke is used in the event that you cannot quickly and safely make it through an obstacle. For example: Your about to enter a building to be cleared, the door is locked, no key available. You place the breaching choke right against the lock, pull the trigger and it blows the lock. Anytime you use a breaching shotgun, the breach has to be against whatever you are going to remove or destroy to make it into whatever your entry team is going into. If the breach is not against the object in question, then you have the possiblity of blowback and it could end up injuring somebody or worse. So jam it into whatever it is you want to get out of your way and pull the trigger. Easy as that. Hope this helps.
  4. Very Nice, are you gonna come out with a metal version?
  5. Those are not pure cosmetic. I can't believe all the tactical junkies on here and nobody knows what they are. LOL. It is a breaching choke. Used to breach doors, locks, glass, chains, etc. It keeps the weapon from blowing back on you. The holes release the gas to keep the weapon from blowing back in your face or damaging the barrel end. Too bad they didn't have this at SHOT. I would have loved to see it. Well, if they did have it there, I didn't see it anyway.
  6. You guys can take this with a grain of salt. I spoke with the ATF yesterday at the shot show. They had a booth there. The gas pistons count as 1 item, not 2. So, back to 14 parts. Not sure what to believe anymore. He also stated the burden of proof is on us. They can't tell a foreign part from a domestic. To be sure just keep the receipts that prove you purchased american made components(to exchange off the list) and you will be fine. Said there was lots of debate on the M4. LOL Just passing it along.
  7. Ya, it is kinda hard. It is a good tool, but you can't get much torque out of it. LOL
  8. I replaced it with a Benelli Improved Cylinder choke. I did use choke lube. I used the factory wrench that came with my M4. It is a long T-handle type wrench that has 4 small arms that go into the choke so you can tighten it. I did clean the threads, as a matter of fact, the other side of the wrench is a thread cleaner, so I did do those steps to ensure that the threads were clean. I am thinking that after reading the manual, I did not tighten it enough to begin with. So that may have been the problem to begin with. I went back and tightened it a little more, and it seems to be holding, I just wanted to find out what was actually too tight. Thanks Hogwild....
  9. I recently replaced my choke on my M4. It now seems after about 8 shots it gets loose and starts backing out. I thought I tightened it enough, but is there such a thing as too tight? How do I know when I have it tight enough? Thanks in advance,
  10. You would be better off posting a new topic about this than trying to jack somebody elses topic. You would get more responses with it. Hope this helps
  11. I just purchased one also and really like it. I have had mine for about a month now.
  12. Get ahold of Scott Berish at Liberty Optics. http://www.libertyoptics.com/ I've purchased plenty of optics and optics related goodies from him. He is a good dude to deal with.
  13. Hey Devil, I have used tritiums on most of my weapons that have irons on them. Work great in the day and work in low/No light situations. I am ordering a set for my M4 next week from Brownells. The tritiums can take some abuse. I am not saying they are Marine proof, but realistically what is. If a Marine can find a way to break it, he will. LOL
  14. Looks like its made of Unobtanium Devil Dog. You know how expensive that stuff is..... LOL
  15. Check out the price. Scroll down and look bottom left. Amazing? I need 2 Group buy???? http://www.oneclickoptics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=85017
  16. Well, if you listen to everything that is on the internet, then bad on you. The internet is full of mis-information. You have to make an educated assestment of everything written and take into account who wrote it and what knowledge and experience he/she has on the subject material. Don't believe everything you read. In fact, unless you see it with your own eyes, it may not be true anyway. People post things all the time cause they are just unhappy or pissed off at said company for whatever reason and love to put misinformation out on the internet highway. Then when some unsuspecting person comes along trying to seek knowledge on the subject, takes what is written as fact and it ruins his/her chances of making an educated guess due to the misinformation. I have read well over 100 posts in the last couple months about M4's that work flawlessly. I have also read about some that did not perform optimally and had problems. You also have to consider that just cause some people had problems with them doesn't necessarily mean that the product is a piece. Everything that is man made is likely to fail at some point. I mean, we made it and we are not perfect creatures. You also have no history on the person reporting the problem. How well does he clean the weapon? How often does he perform PM(Preventative Maintenance)? Does he take care of it or use it as a beater stick? If he took it apart, did he put it back together properly? Does he know how to properly use the weapon in question? There is much more to consider than just a broken piston or a malfunctioning weapon? It is unfortunate that there are problems like that, and it is informative for others to know of a potential problem, but to just say it is a piece of ***** cause you saw a 100 pages on the internet of broken pieces isn't really a fair assestment. What about the millions of them sold around the world? I have friends still on active duty that I have spoke intently about the M4 and some like it and some don't. Some say it is the best thing since swiss cheese, others would still rather have the mossburg or the 870. So it is all a matter of opinion really. Ok, I will stop rambling now.
  17. Let me know. +1 on getting to the magic 5
