  1. I want an AA-10, with no recoil why not a 10ga. version? But here in California we will never get anything close///

    M4 Camo

I have mentioned this before but after only a few months use my M4 has quite a few chips in the camo. Every time I take it out, I find a new chip or two or three in the camo. I spoke with Benelli they said that this should not happen so easily and to send the gun in and in 3 or 4 months I should have my gun back refinished. I have a lot of chips on the receiver, a few on the barrel and magazine tube, the stock and the forend seem to be holding up the best. Since this is my first gun with camo, just wonder what experiences you guys have with Benelli camo... thanks, Michael

    Dry fire M4?

I called Benelli today, they said its not safe to dry fire any of their firearms. They said to use dummy rounds. I asked if she meant snap caps, she said no, dummy rounds are fine. I asked well the dummy rounds have a flat surface, the pin would slam against it. She said that is better than dry firing. Seems odd to me. what do you guys think?
  4. I shot again last night, about 100 rounds no strange sounds, etc... I'll be cleaning her up tomorrow I'll take a close look at the bold receiver etc... I think I am okay too, after watching a segment on Gun and Ammo TV, they were trying to show how a barrel will break with a 12-20 burst, where a 20ga round gets shoved inside the barrel with a 12ga round behind it. The shotgun they used to demonstrate was a Benelli M4, they tried several times, nothing happened to the Benelli and it shot just fine afterwards... It just pushed the 20ga right out the barrel. Kinda funny, guess they should have chosen another gun to make their point... The 100 yard metal targets are cast iron skillets maybe about 17" in diameter. I shoot 000 buck with an Extra Full choke. About half the time I get them to make a nice PING... I'll try with the modified next time... see if I have better luck.
  5. It's always best to contact your local ATF office and state DOJ.
  6. I seem to be fine on the threads, all my chokes screw in and out just fine, after shooting while the barrel is still hot it seems harder to get the choke off after it cools down it comes off with ease. I am guessing this is fairly normal. I always use a dab of choke tube lube on the threads too. So I guess I am good to go... I was also reading on another thread that most slugs are a bit smaller just for that reason that someone may have a tight choke on. The big exception was the Remington slugger slugs and I only shot 5 of those... While I am on the subjects of chokes, anything wrong with shooting 000 Buck with an extra full choke, I like a really tight pattern so I can hit metal targets @ 100 yards.
  7. I Just Installed Socomguy's Tube today... it's freaking beautiful! He matched up the desert camo for me... No complaints from this happy customer!!!
  8. choke looks fine, I tested the threats on the muzzle with my modified choke screwed in and out with ease...
  9. I was shooting today and I did a very stupid thing, my cylinder choke and my extra full choke got mixed up and I shot about 30 rounds of 3" Rifled slugs through my M4 with an extra full choke. After I realized my mistake I stopped shooting the slugs and shot through a 100 rounds of target loads everything seemed fine. I cleaned my barrel and checked it with a bore light noting seemed unusual... Is it possible I may have done some damage to my M4? M
  10. The first time I took it off it was the hardest, after that it became fairly easy. The first time I had to wrap my stock in a towel and put it in a vice to unscrew it... You'll get it off... Just remember to turn the grip counter clockwise...
  11. Well I went with #2, what a HUGE difference from my $5.00 Big 5 muffs, and really comfortable too! Maybe the best $20.00 I have spent in this hobby... Thanks for the advice...
  12. I can say this because I live in California and I see it everyday. California has the largest collection of brainwashed idiots in the country. The sensible people that live here have to keep their mouth shut about anything political or we will lose our jobs or get labeled a kook.
  13. I figured you would hold out for a 10ga. AA10! now that would be something fierce!
  14. I paid $1620 for my M4 with desert camo. After taxes and all the California special fees it came out to almost $1800.00 I often buy ammo from Able's, great customer service.
  15. Living in Los Angeles an AA12 would be perfect for home defense, yet they are banned in California. Gee do you think there is a correlation between the insanely high crime here and the excessive restrictions on how we are able to defend ourselves?
  16. Well since my M4 is my first and only shotgun, nothing to get use to about the ghost rings... I really like how they work for me. Does the eotech give you a big advantage over just using the ghost ring site? In general and for busting clays? I have thought about buying one...
  17. THANKS!!! This actually helps me a lot! I wanted to get a barrel extension but wasn't sure if my M4 had the Mobil system.
  18. That's 90% of the population of my state!
  19. I am looking for a figure 8 style mount for my M4, I want to put one end on the magazine tube and attach the other end to a high power green laser. that is just a smooth cylinder. I dont want to use the laser for a sight, but it's really high power and more just for a blinding and intimidation and look cool factor... Anyone know where to look for such a mount?
  20. Then it sounds like trap, we only put money in 1 machine however, I have to get better before I start thinking about shooting at targets thrown from both machines. But yeah the setup is 1 machine on the left and 1 on the right and the clays fly alway from me... I picked up a full and extra full choke I'll try em out and see if I have better luck.
  21. Perhaps I don't fully understand the advantage of electronic muffs, they allow you to hear people talking and some can get FM radio etc. I don't really care to hear anything at all, I just want to protect my ears. To the electronic muffs block out more sound than the non electronic muffs? What if the batteries run out while I am shooting?
  22. Hey guys & gal I am looking to buy some new earmuffs. Who makes the best to protect my ears? I don't care about electronic stuff, Just want to protect my ears as much as possible at the indoor range. What do all teh Db NRR numbers mean?
  23. Now I want a breaching choke for my M4 seems like the way to go next time I lock myself out of the house... http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/6782651-fulltext.html check it out...
  24. I saw that too, I really think it's more about marketing than anything else, with jagged edge and ports on that tube, it makes the gun look fierce to somebody. I think functionality was NOT the primary purpose of that design.
  25. I don't think its sporting clays either, the clays always have the same trajectory. I honestly don't think it's anything other than moving target practice. The serious places were you can shoot skeet, trap and sporting ban my gun because of the short barrel. So this place just has a couple of machine set up on each side of the range and not may people seem to use them... It's also the same location you have to go to shoot slugs, see those 100 yrd targets off in the distance...
