  1. If you buy it because it's the best, why install crap parts? A weapon is a SYSTEM. A group of parts working as a whole. It is only as good as its weakest critical part, which the magazine is by any definition. Ergo, you have turned "the best" into something cheap and shoddy by installing a low-budget critical part. One does not install $39.99 brake-pads on a Porsche.
  2. Retarded awesome deal if it is as you described.
  3. FYI, Breakfree CLP has an almost identical "smoke point" to the adhesive's release point. When you start seeing CLP smoke, TWIST! Repeat until success is met. Just my last experience.
  4. This site does seem to have a tube fixation
  5. So you are telling me that someone who buys an M4 instead of something cheaper didn't buy the M4 because it was more robust or more capable, but sees it only as a toy with no serious capability for hard usage?
  6. $175 parts? Yeah, and the M4 barrel assy. dealer-price is $5XX. But guess what? That's not what the fair-market value is. FMV on an SBS M4S90 is also FAR from MSRP. Good on you for getting one at a factory-esque price from your agency. Now, will you order more for everyone like yourself who thinks that is their real value? Why or why not? Apparently the poster knew he was low-balling and just wanted to whine that FMV is more than he wants to pay. He responded to a polite response with some kind of sour-grapes like complaint that could, with little effort, be construed as proof that he was just trolling and didn't even intend to spend the $500 he offered as he turns around and says that what he offered was "too much". If it was too much for him, why did he offer it? Trolling purposes? It should also be noted that he responded to the OP's post with a "He didn't...(referring to the OP's FIRST post)" implying that he, at the time of that post, didn't even recognize who the OP/seller WAS in this thread. Basically, he added a bunch of clutter with a low-ball offer that he may or may not have intended on following through with and not enough intent to even keep track of who was selling the damn thing. This was then furthered by people who are upset about the law of supply and demand. Epic fail.
  7. I don't have the #s in front of me, but it felt the same to me.
  8. Normal on all of the M4's I have owned. Just keep an eye on it/check it. If it really ticks you off, maybe some teflon tape or purple. PURPLE!!!! NOT BLUE OR RED! loktite.
  9. SOCOMguy's tubes from everything I have read are VERY well made. Flawless. Kip's Titanium tubes are also very well made, and can tell you first hand, they are flawless. They are also 52% the weight of a steel tube, corrosion-proof, and durability is not meaningfully changed. The spring offered by Kip is the best/only spring I would recommend in an M4 with a full-length tube, and I have tried LOTS. I tried the OEM spring (it is the same one the military gets, that much is correct, same spring is used in the civvi 5-shot). It doesn't work so hot firing down at steep angles, or with heavy recoiling loads. I tried a lot of stuff like Surecycle, Wolf 40", etc. etc. None of it worked. Lots of coils, little tension compared to the OEM style spring. I finally began running M1S90 military springs, that worked pretty well. Then Kip's spring came into existance/I discovered it, and I bought one. Tension is AWESOME, and length is appropriate to the capacity increase. Basically, it is an OEM type spec'ed spring with better material and appropriate length for a 7shot tube. My recommendation is that if you must have steel, get SOCOMguy's tube and Kip's spring. If you want to the most "advanced" tube (lighter, corrosion proof, no meaningful difference in durability), get Kip's Ti tube and Kip's spring. No matter what you do, get the spring. PS. Stay safe over there!
  10. I never said $500 was a joke to me. I said it was a joke to offer for a $7-900 part. The reason you got Jr. member remarks is because, had you been around longer, you would know that it will either take an aftermarket stock, or the import-ban being lifted, or someone getting a nasty divorce, before the collapsible stocks will dip to $500 and lower. CODY6.0: If you want to be the knight in shining armor, go out and guy up a dozen of these $175 collapsible stocks and then sell them to people who want them for $200 a pop. I will of course, applaude your generosity and kindness. But the fact remains that the only people who got them at that price got them when they came with their M1014's or bought them before 2001 I think it was. Now, it's all black-market, and it is what it is.
  11. 1. No, I did not bring up MSRP. Go re-read my original post. I said "THEY RETAIL AT". Not MSRP. Why do they retail at that? Because the only ones you are going to get your hands on were sold as police over-run on complete guns, before the ban, or by LE dealers who are risking their license and freedom to sell them openly. 2. So what do you think drove materials cost for XM193 up? Supply and demand. Let me make another analogy. Do you think I can find a mint condition 1963 numbers matching 'vette for it's original MSRP? Would you call someone who sold one at many times its MSRP a price gouger?
  12. Well since it's not for sale normally, then factory MSRP doesn't really matter does it? According to the factory, it's not for sale to you at ANY price. Only one place is selling to civilians publically, NIB. It's all about supply and demand. You already show that you understand this. If you want to buy an M4S90 collapsible stock for $175 MSRP, then do it. I certainly won't frown upon you. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that...you can't. In fact, for any of you who have some XM193 that you bought in the early 2000's, will you sell it to me for $150/1,000 rounds? I mean, I would hate to have to call you gougers. This is rediculous.
  13. $500 is a joke offer.
  14. For slugs/tight patterning buck, there is no quicker way to get on-target than a good optic and a proper cheek weld.
  15. Fine, go buy a new one. THey retail for $995 at the only dealer who has them in stock in the US that I am aware of. The $7-800 that is asked on here is fair market value. The fact of the matter is, by offering it here first, you make a forum-member the owner instead of someone else. They are kindof hard to find, somewhat. This is like claiming that selling an M16 for $15,000 is price-gouging because it sold for $900 in the late 80's.
  16. Makes a ton of difference. Buy an optic and see.
  17. BF CLP, LaRue MG Lube, FP10, SLIP2000, SLIP2000 EWL, there are tonnes of good gun lubes out there. RemOil: HORRIBLE rust-prevention. VERY LIGHT oil protects little. Dries very fast. It's just a crap product.
  18. The best gun for the game is the one that you are best with that launches (a) sufficient projectile(s).
  19. Shame, I just traded my NIB PG+cash for a collapsible. Offer it in trade. Someone will bite!
  20. LMT makes good stuff. IIRC though, Duggan twisted one of those bolts in half with the factory tq wrench, lol.
  21. Well, what can we say? You won't be owning a collapsible stock. End of story.
  22. Do you know if this is re-branded, or if Benelli/Beretta formulated it themselves, or hired a lab to, or what?
  23. Or it could be a bot selling fashion handbags.
  24. Use a tornado brush. No soaking necessary, just rips the lead and crap out.
  25. Kill this troll.
