  1. Anyone tried one of these slings? It can be configured as a one, two or three point set up. http://www.blueforcegear.com/soc-c-modular-sling/ I ordered one today off Ebay for $49 in the "Contractor Pack" which comes with lots of extra attachment adapters to work with about any weapon http://dsgarms.com/ProductInfo/BFCONPAK-CB.aspx Looks nice, I will post thoughts/review after I receive it....supposed to be here Thursday Later, Hookster
  2. Walking Dead new season starts tonight..... :-)
  3. Left side thumb activation
  4. Hey All, I received my CDM Mod-C mount today and have been playing around with it. The quality is excellent and it keeps the light mounted very close/low profile to the barrel but it doesn't place the back of the Surefire G2X tactical flashlight as far back as I had hoped for easy activation with my index finger on the right side of the weapon. I much prefer the ergonomics of the CDM BMT with the X300 which places the switch about 2" further back. Also, the sideways toggle switch is easier to manipulate than pressing down on the flashlight button. I then tried it on the left side and the ergos for thumb activation are much better (see pic below) but my goal was for the right side mounting so I will be sticking with the BMT/X300 ultra combo. What this setup would be good for is for a left side mounting for say HD where there was no plan to also have a sling mounted. I think that even if you had a sling mounted at 6oclock at the front attachment point there would be some degree of conflict/interaction with the light and mount. The other situation to which I can see it being well suited would be with a flashlight (left or right side mounted) that had a remote tailcap with a pressure pad mounted to the grips. You could then move the light even farther forward if you wanted to reduce shadowing. BTW the G2x packs a nice punch!... I think I will sell the Mod -C...If it sounds like something any of you can use, send me a PM....and now, some pics!
  5. Hey All, I received my CDM Mod-C mount yesterday. Like the BMT, the sling swivel receptacle is now integrated and the quality looks excellent and it is very light. Sure fire stuff for it is in route so I should have pics up soon. Later, Hookster :-)
  6. Welcome to the forum gifreaky!!!! and congrats on your new baby.... Later, Hookster
  7. Hey Zeke! The weight of adding on the M80 alone is not bad at all, a little under 3oz I did have a lot hanging on there besides the M80 that added weight but when I originally set up my Benelli we didn't have all the 922r compliance parts that are available now. Like RocketW19, I've always liked the feel of the OEM grips quite a bit so now that I can be compliant (with the Geiselle Hammer) and..... have the comfortable grips I prefer and....shed a few ounces to boot....that seemed like the way to go. Take Care, Hookster
  8. Hey Case! Yeah.... Unless I totally fall in love with the ergonomics of the Surefire G2x in the Mod-C mount I will probably stick with the X300 Ultra in the BMT. Later, Hookster :-)
  9. Hey Zeke!!! Function was fine I had it on there for a few years for 922r compliance but I prefer the feel and lighter weight of the OEM grips. I did a review of the SF M80 with lots of pics here: http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php/19942-Surefire-M80-Forend-Review?highlight=Surefire+922r+compliant+review Later, Hookster :-)
  10. All in all...I'm pretty happy, I love my Benelli now with the back to basics approach. Getting rid of all the dead weight of the Sidearmor rail system and the Surefire M80 forend was definitely the right move. I'm very happy with the weight and quality of the CDM mount. The one allen screw to loosen for field stripping is a price I'm willing to pay. I heard form LA Police Gear that my Surefire stuff is on the way so as soon as I have that and the CDM Mod-C mount in hand I'll post some pics and thoughts on that set up. Later, Hookster
  11. Here it is with the QD in place
  12. Here's the QD sling swivel side which is now integrated in the mount
  13. I was a little twisted around here to get the picture but this shows hand poition for fingertip activation. I'm happy enough with the ergos
  14. Here it is with the Surefire X300 which doesn't position the switch quite as far back as the Streamlight but it still isn't bad ergonomically
  15. I think if someone wanted to machine a shim you could get it back a bit further too but as it is it sits fairly low profile to the barrel and mag tube as seen here
  16. OK Case!!... Here we go.... Here why I got the 6 slot rail, I wanted to get the light mounted further back than the 3 slot would allow. The light here is a TLR-1 with the remote switch tailcap which is slightly longer than the standard toggle so it gets the switch back a hair more Here it is with no light showing the rail mounted in the off-set position
  17. Hey All, I got the email from Scott at CDM today that the new MOD-C mount is also now in stock. The new one also has integrated swivel recepticle as opppssed to an add on piece. I placed my order for one but I'm still waiting also for my Surefire G2X Tactical and accessories from LA Police to arrive to try it out with. On the CDM BMT front.... I took some pics earlier today and will get them posted tomorrow along with some comments. Later, Hookster
  18. Hey Fliplip!...Welcome to the forum!!...Yeah, reports of issues like yours mixed in with the good reviews are why I avoided these for my 3rd compliance part. I figured the Geiselle hammer would be an upgrade from OEM but the FFT grips would be a downgrade from OEM. Later, Hookster
  19. Congrats Zeke!!! You may now perform the dance of joy...
  20. That's cool!!!.... I think that's alot more practical and good looking option compared to the folder...
  21. I think they just don't talk about it.... That way it can't hurt you!...
  22. Hi Edon!!! One idea would be to get a factory Benelli +2 extension tube and plug it with dowell...I don't know if a dowell would satisfy whatever law you are working under but if you need something more permanent perhaps another method of plugging it could be employed. I think that anything beyond that would be a custom job. Here's one on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Benelli-m4-2-tube-extension/dp/B006D3WM9U Take Care, Hookster
  23. Sidearmor makes a high quality rail system for supernova but you will be paying a weight penalty
