I have been faced with this project from **** all day and still no sling on the M4. There must be some loose mfg. tolerances because my rear sling mount is actually less than an inch when measured. I am having togive up and call Benelli tomorrow unless anybody has a new idea.

I thought the same thing, why threads and a nut? I thought possible loctite had it stuck, so i tried to tap it loose and I got nowhere. The only thing i can imagine at this point is that it could be done by twisting the buttstock upon assembly to draw in 278J. Once it is tight a nut is installed for security and its done, never to be disassembled. Is that possible, can someone pull their M4 PG stock apart and see if they hit the same roadblock?

1) I removed 053J 2) 278J appears to be threaded (where im stuck) If i could spin 280J maybe 278J would release so i could pull 280J out of 063J (sling mount) What do you think Hookster?

Thanks Hookster, that helps but should I admit defeat this early? I have alot of time today and really want the factory mount out at this point. Any step by step info would be helpful.

So I encountered a problem when I tried to put my new sling on last night. The front mount is 1.25" wide and the rear is 1.00". I figured I would remove the rear sling mount from the stock, open it up a bit to accept the sling, refinish it and re-install. Unfortunately not that easy. I removed the stock, then the rubber butt pad. I found a 13mm bolt that holds the sling mount and I removed it but nothing loosened up. What do I need to do in order to remove the sling tab out of the stock?

Its a Carlson's or Tru-lock breaching choke.

The Carriercomp W.C. Wolff spring and Brownells follower are compared to the Benelli factory parts below. I didnt notice a difference while shooting but the spring is much stronger and the follower is all aluminum versus the aluminum and plastic Benelli factory part.

I went with a single point on my AR and found that it was only really useful if I plan on standing still so I have changed to Blue Force Gear 2 point padded slings on the M4 and AR. Now I can have both hands free without the gun swinging around out of control. I'd go with a 2 point sling, just my $0.02.

Try a Birchwood Casey flat black gun touch-up pen is my best guess, they are about $8.00. If it works its a quick cheap fix to hide the scratch a bit.

We're already neighbors thanks. I live in southern Mexifornia. Ughh.

John Wayne?

I agree. Online stores bank on us purchasing items from them that drop ship from the mfg. or supplier so they dont have money out on inventory. Unfortunately for us they dont find out that its backordered until they've got my money in the bank. But they give free "I OWE YOU'S." Ba$tards.

Im on the handle skeet. Don't you get fed up with all the squids? I do, sorry.

Now thats a good pic. LMAO

I would imagine the mepros are better but that would require spending more money to replace a glowing site with a brighter glowing site. Comes down to personal preference and mission specific requirementsfor me.
-
He must be. They glow pretty good for a factory glowing site. I didn't know they did that until one night the power went out and the M4 was "on and ready."

Some manufactures are still making the AR gas block with the bayonet/grenade launcher mounting tab on them. My Bushmaster Gas Piston M4A3 came with it and the M9 knife/bayonet will attach over the barrel and lock into place. If you are set on the bayonet, put a M9 on your AR and you are done without any expensive mods pending you have an AR with such gas block. Here are some pics so you can see.

Factory sights glow if they are illuminated for a second with a flashlight.

I went with the Surefire M952XM07 on the AR and I have the larger 225 lumens M962XM07 waiting for installation on the M4 as soon as the B&T rail gets here. Both lights have the A.R.M.S. #17 throw-lever mount and XM tailcaps. They share many of the same parts and batteries so if one should fail in the field I have another light or ample parts to make a repair.

I hear that skeet. If you run through a few thousand rounds and cant get em, you got one **** of an enemy or cant shoot.
-
Are you really serious? Think of the most obvious answer to your questions and there you go. 1) If Benelli wanted it run dry they wouldn't include a 50ml bottle of MF-82 oil. 2) No, a rail will never be a factory option. 3) Bayonet lug, are you going back to W*** or Nam with the M4 you dont own? I have said it before and will continue to hold my position, go get the gun 1st and shoot it. Why waste your time or anothers time with questions about something you do not own? Oh, btw I'm sure they are goin on closeout soon with rails and bayonet lugs for $299.99 just sit back and wait.
-
If you dont have the money for the M4, why are you worried about how much aftermarket parts cost and where to buy them? First things first, get the shotgun and shoot it.

I purchased from midwayusa for $56.00, shipped and received it in 2 days. You can also purchase from trulock directly. Here is the link from midway, but their site says backorder now till the end of the month. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=625095

No difference can be felt in the recoil, but I imagine the pattern is different than the factory choke tube. I will take some large 4x4 targets out and get pattern comparisons in the next week or so.
