  1. bump for a good seller!
  2. Read that on the internet didja? IMHO, that is a bunch of bull. If anything, the inertia driven systems stay much cleaner than gas driven guns, period. I have a Benelli Super Sport and I seldom, if ever, see much in the way of crud in the chamber or on the rails. Most of the crap goes right out the barrel. I have also never had any type of failure in over 4000 rounds. The inertia system is great. Just break it in right and you are good to go.
  3. Yes, don't use the OEM screws/washers but keep them in case you ever want to re-instal the stock rail, or Kip's. I did use blue loctite to install the Sidearmor rail and was careful to not over tighten. No torque values but If I had to guess I wouldn't go over 30 inch pounds.
  4. Glad to see it found a good home.
  5. No, you can't really get in trouble for "just a barrel" unless you make it look like you are doing something sketchy. I have the good fortune to live in a state with great gun laws. I also live in a county where the Sheriff Looks fondly upon those who go through he trouble to get a CCL and will most likely sign off on your NFA because of it. I'm not the least bit worried.
  6. What I was told by a Class III dealer here is that it would be in my best interest to keep the barrel in a different location than the gun I was going to convert. Ideally, you are supposed to begin the NFA process before you acquire parts and do any assembly. Once you have paperwork in-hand, get your parts and go at it. That said, he also told me that having the barrel is not really a big deal. I can keep it in my shop and if my M4 lives in the house, then I'm fine. I feel pretty comfortable since I have an extended mag tube on my M4. As long as it stays configured that way, I couldn't put a short barrel on there anyway. On the outside chance that I might get a visit, it would be pretty clear that I couldn't use the short barrel without a bit of work.
  7. Yes, yes, and **** yes. He posted right off the bat that ALL NFA rules apply. That means you will have to do the proper registration process BEFORE you install the new barrel. Your best bet is to get with one of your local shops to walk you through the NFA process in you aren't already familiar.

While I can certainly echo your sentiment, it is quite simply the price of admission. There are a number of reasons for this but if you look at Benelli replacement barrels in general, ALL of them are way overpriced. Take the Nova Barrels for example, you can get a whole new Nova pump for what it costs to buy a new barrel. I looked at getting the 30" barrel for my Super Sport and it was going to be $900. The price for the 14" SBS barrel, while expensive, is right in line with current barrel cost in general. In addition, these particular barrels are not technically intended for the civilian market and from my understanding, there are very few ways that they can actually get in our hands even though they are legal to purchase. So, the fact that we can even have access to these at current market value is pretty incredible.
  9. You are welcome. The forearm in the Quad pics is a Surefire M80 and does not belong to me. Those are pics I posted for another forum member. I have the FFT forearm on my M4 in the other pics.
  10. Personally, I like the 3/4" length and think it is plenty. I had the GG&G and one of the things I didn't like was the extra protrusion. I'm sure everyone will have a preference but proportionally, I think the 1/2" OD is well matched to the 3/4" length.
  11. I don't know that it's necessarily any "better", I think it comes down to a personal preference where the design principles come into play. IIRC, Kip once address this and even said that the Ti knobs he initially tested were functionally fine. It came down to some cosmetic wear that the steel handles didn't show. There was also some speculation that the steel tangs were better able to serve the dual-use duty of a takedown tool for removing the trigger group pin and the gas pistons, like Benelli intended. This is all from memory but it's there if you do a search. Personally I think for most of us titanium would be fine and I imagine that FFT has plenty of their handles in service. If you have it, I'd say use it and see what you think.
  12. They were the exact same photo. Ok, I think I got it in there.
  13. DOH! Sorry to hear that man. The unit really is in fantastic, like new, shape. Buy with confidence as dprichard was a pleasure to deal with in our transaction.
  14. My handles arrived today. Very, very, nice is all I can say. It's impossible to really see that it's two parts bonded. The quality, fit, and finish are every bit as you would expect. First picture is of the stock handle mounted and subsequent pictures are of the carriercomp. Again, this is the "muted" ti version and it looks/functions fantastically. Saying that i'm completely satisfied is an understatement and I can see a black one in my future as well (for a spare lol).
  15. I spoke with a guy at GG&G today inquiring about when they would have theirs back in stock and was told not until June. Evidently they are waiting on carrier latches from Benelli. He did say that they do all the machining in house and he would be willing to modify a stock button if you sent it in. It still wouldn't be until June but you could save about $40 as that was the cost of the stock carrier latch. I have an extra one that I am going to send them for my M4 SBS. IMHO, it is THE one to have.

    Foregrip

I have one as well and there are zero issues.

    Foregrip

The OP kinda confused the issue really. He said "foregrip" which kind of implies an attachment which is what S33 was speaking to. Fore arm is the more apt term and I can see how it might be confusing. Surefire and FFT are the only ones that I know of that are US Made. Botach as well as Brugger and Thomet also make one but they are an import.
  19. It should fit right in like it did in the stock tube.
  20. And it's precisely this kind of rumor mill crap that started the great ammo/arms run preceding the 2000 election. The Left did absolutely nothing but because everyone thought they were going to, it was almost impossible to get ammo and some guns for a year and a half. Pardon me if I don't want to join in on the internet rumor mill but I choose to deal in facts. You can do whatever you want but I'll save my diligence for the real world.
