So this happened to mine. When I first purchaced, I had a **** of a time removing mine for the first time. I had to get a long screw driver to get leverage and get them to break free. I actually thought that I was going to break or damage them but they finally unscrewed. Now they come appart easily.

It didnt smoke like that, and there wasnt really a big mess of goo in there afterwords. It just appeared wet looking. I wiped it out and let cool and then reassembled. Fit and finished is great.

I didnt use any on mine either. I shot mine last satuday after install. I took it apart to clean on sunday, tried to un-thread while I had it appart but I couldnt get it to budge. Must be there was still a little bit of the old locktight still in the threads. I'll probably just leave it like this until I want to really clean then reheat to remove. No biggy..............your M4 looks awesome by the way! Love the retractable stock.

Carrier Comp 7 Rd tube + Large Muted knob, Surefire M80 and Larue Index Clips all finally arrived and installed ! The best part is, my wife has NO CLUE how much $$ I spent !! [ATTACH=CONFIG]1700[/ATTACH] Then bingo, I came home last friday night the wife said I got a package that I've been waiting for a long time [ATTACH=CONFIG]1701[/ATTACH] The install IMO was fairly easy, thanks to all of the experts on this website posting their video's on this. I believe it was Strangerdanger that gave the most useful info. I was actually nervous over nothing, heated for bout 3-5 minutes and bingo, it unthreaded . [ATTACH=CONFIG]1702[/ATTACH] Also wanted to include a pic of the Surefire M80 that I recieved today after install. Notice the Larue Index clip with thumb bracket attachment. I saw this on their website and decided to order. It actually feels pretty cool, allows good grip for forward push. [ATTACH=CONFIG]1703[/ATTACH] Here's a shot with my hand. Overall, I am glad the wait is over and yes Hookster I did my dance of joy !!

hmmmm..... I did not know this. The first 2 boxes I put through my M4 was Winchester, I didnt have a problem.

Yah I guess the Geiselle Hammer is another option fo me to consider so that I can change back to stock and still be compliant. For just going to the range for a day, to make it as lite as posible. But it just takes forever just to order a dang part !!

So your order took right around 8 weeks to complete, so far its been about 5 weeks since I've placed mine. I may get mine sooner than you did, well maybe. Thanks for your feedback.

I ordered the muted one. I really liked the black one, but the website listed it as out of stock, the muted looks good, so I figured it would be faster getting the muted.

Still waiting for my Carreir Comp 7 rd tube magazine+ large knob and also the Surefire M80. Ordered the CC tube on 8/29 and CC is so backed up they are 8 weeks behind. HO HUMMMM.....:(
