  1. Nope, it fits without any adapters for the PG and "traditional" stocks. It does need different screws and the hole for the collapsible stock though. If you are using a pinned c-stock then no hole would be needed.

I did want to clarify on the screws. I used 14mm length and they fit fine...but you might be able to use a slightly longer screw. I haven't experimented to find the "best" length yet.

    Cheers

The Noveske adapter is only Ned ed for the collapsible stock.

Just finished the Limbsaver install on mine........rather comfy.

You guys look like you are saying different things RE the collapsible stock?

  2. The 10403 fits perfectly. However you'll need 2 m4-0.7 x 14-16mm screws for the metal collapsible stock. Also, if you want it to fully collapse you'll need to cut out an appropriate hole in the plastic of the pad. It's not hard. I used a drill press and a dremel to cut it out and I'm happy with it.

Does it still need the Noveske adapter?

  3. The name of the OP was for a Carriar Comp Charging handle. If it were me...I would be studying the Originals here, the orig OEM Benelli, and the Orig CC.A few companies have managed to make something sub standard, there have seemingly only been 2 successful handles made though, those being the OEM and the CC handle. If you can't figure out the CC one, I think you are wasting your timeHas anybody asked Kip if he would supply the details? He's basically out of this market for this product, maybe he won't care. Longshot I know...

  4. This picture details what I am talking about. I understand some shooters cannot stack slugs and flinch so badly that it's a moot point, but for some of us, this is meaningful. As SD said, when using irons, I did not notice the issue, when using the RDS that was not touching the barrel, the shift was meaningful. Notations written on target. Shot #1 was the top right, using the RDS. Shot #2 was top left, using irons through the RDS. I then fired 25 rounds of bird-shot as fast as possible. Shot #3 was then made using the RDS bottom right. Shot #4 was then immediately made using irons bottom left, followed by a confirmation shot (#5), bottom right using the RDS. It is stacked with shot #3.

That pretty much defines the issue. Thanx! Would be awesome to see if anyone else has this issue as well.

Very interesting. Who would have thought

  5. That would be 5 compared to the 7 on a full length tube. It uses the exact same tube size as a stock (consumer) M4 here in the US.

I have a CC TI 5 Rd tube on mine. The nice lady at CC couldn't hardly believe I was ordering one.

Smokin'! I'll bet they do swing nice!

  6. By installing these "race" parts in our gun are we fixing a Benelli bug or are we just making a gun that shoots people in the face.... "smoothly"

    Well...

Shooting people in the face smoothly has always been pretty important to me YMMV

  7. I would just about bet that if 5 people copied your set up exactly.... we would have 5 different outcomes.

When you get into doing things like this, they all require "gunsmithing" to achieve desired results. If not, your just installing a new carburetor without tuning it afterwards.

It may work ok, and you can brag that you have it installed but in the end its not race ready.

    Indeed! Good analogy.

I was thinking of getting this from Briley as a turn key from them with their trigger.

The stuff here has me thinking about that a bit.

  8. Ok, I'm ready.

Went to the machine shop and prowled around. This task will be breeze compared to the standard contracts they fill.

A couple questions, possibly for Joel. As a private party, do you see any legal issues making a small run of these for resale in the community. Not starting a business or making a living. Understandably the shop worries about any liability that may be incurred as a "firearm" part.

Material will likely be steel, kept as light of weight as possible. Titanium offers no real advantages at all in this situation. And seems even worse. The shaft and 3 sided nub will be identical to the original

Are we in for the original knob design, or modified (how so)? Checkering, or press knurling. Does anyone have a CAD/STL/P of the knob or is quick doing it?

Also I would appreciate the OD/ID or any major measurements of that knob. To the nearest 0.001 is probably good enough.

Again, this project is a GO from the machinist.

    Hi Toaster,

Great work here. Have you discussed with your machinist anything about the current offerings and where they fail?

  9. I have a Briley trigger set and the hammer fit was way too tight in the hammer channel of the triggerguard. The parts assembled but did not function. As a quick fix I used lapping compound and worked the two parts by hand until the fit was nice and smooth. I have some concern that the fit is still too tight for dirty combat conditions and I plan to widen the channel on the mill next time I have it apart. and before any re-coating for color.

    Rasyad

Is this with the A&S Guard?

  10. It's really surprising that there aren't more pressure switch options that are of high quality. Or, better yet a revison from Surefire. The design of their plug for the tape switches isn't the best either. Example, I'd make it so that the end use could install a screw locking the plug in to the cap to prevent it being ripped out. I'd also make it angled inward towards the weapon. The pad itself needs work.

I did make a grip activated weapon light for the Benelli M4 on the pistol grip. I had a 40" Surefire tape switch and I removed the rubberized grip and cut a channel in to the grip for the tape switch to seat. The wire then loomed inside the stock and came out near the top and routed forward along the top rail to the weapon light. I used a SideArmor top rail at the time which allowed for routing the cable easily.

The rubberized grip then slid over the grip with the activation pad in it. So you had momentary control over the weapon light from the grip kind of like a set of CTC laser grips. It was okay, but it was prone to accidental light discharges when slung.

I've got some Elzetta lights, have you tried any of them?

  11. Clone the oem shank out of 4140, heat treat it and phosphate it, but right after the shank leaves the carrier, profile it to have and retain a polymer handle moulded to it. Use whatever polymer is good for the process and durable and pick a good shape and dimension. The weight will be minimal, mass production possible, price low, durability and structural integrity should be great.

    Only one problem there Bud...

    Doesn't satisfy that Titanium Addiction!

    :D

N.B. Nice idea for sure though and cheap to do.

  12. I get it gentleman and believe it or not I do have a teachable spirit. Some of what you say is true on how I really feel about the law. The law is the law. Part of my thinking was after market companies are manufacturing sub standard parts to sell based on everyone's fear of a law that has never been tested when it comes to the Benelli M4. Again this was not the intent of my question.

As far as the 3 year old comment, how do you think I feel when I have to repeat the same question over and over and getting these comments back from left field. Here we go again:

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF EVEN ONE SCITUATIN WHERE ANYONE EVER HAD THEIR BENELLI M4 CONFISCATED,BROKEN DOWN AND PROSECUTED FOR NON COMPLIENCE OF 922R UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE WETHER IN THE COMMISION OF A CRIME OR NOT ????

I know the consequences of not complying with a federal law. If the federal government wants to prosecute someone for having a collapsible stock or a 7 round magazine tube on there weapon so be it . I GET IT!!!!!!!!! This was still not answering my initial question.

The question gentleman has since been answered by several people.

    Blessings

If you REALLY want to know that, go find someone with access to WestLaw and have them look it up for ya.

    We're not a legal forum..

    Get it!

  13. No, you are wrong. It does put yourself at risk for prosecution if you're caught. The consequences are written within the law, they are not implied or insinuated. They are written in the statute. It's not hype to be afraid of felony prosecution.

There is risk if you don't comply. Don't pretend that there isn't.

If you think that there's not a snowball's chance of you ever getting caught then, go ahead, it's your ass on the line.

But don't expect that everyone should agree with you.

My take on your attitude is that you don't like the law, you think it's absurd to have to replace perfectly good parts, and therefore, you don't want to follow it for those reasons.

Also, it's plain to see from your posts, that it angers you to read that a whole lot of people are afraid of being caught, and for that reason alone, they will comply. You choose to rail about people who are following the law and warn others, either from fear or maybe just because it's the law.

You got pissed off because you didn't get the answers from people that you wanted to see. Finally, when someone explains it to you like you're a 3-year old who wants to know why they can't have another piece of candy, THEN you're Ok.

    Personally...

I don't screw with an agency that may kick my door in and shoot my Cocker Spaniel because he barked at them. There is zero percentage in screwing around with Firearms laws in a land that is becoming more "Progressive" if ya know what I mean.

This is a Firearm law, it ain't double parkin'

Maybe he'll get to serve his time in a Federal Prison, I hear they're nice...

I'll bet everybody calls ya "Sir" there... and says , Pardon me and You're welcome! Who knows, they might even pick your soap up for ya if ya drop it in the shower.

They might even cut the crust off your Baloney Samiches...

  14. "Dude",

I'm 56 years old and would prefer a little more respect than the level of "Dude". I will start out by giving you the level of respect of "Sir" I am the OP of this blog. It's got away from the original intent of my question. It appears that I have the answer to my question and the answer is no. There most likely have never been added charges as you say or any prosecution in regards to specifically, the Benelli M4 not being 922r compliant. I was simply asking if anyone had one example of this happening. I did not realize that I would have struck such a nerve.

    Well...

Ya got a "Dude" anyhow, now ya gotta live with it.

After you go on for two pages about contemplating committing a felony, what did you really expect.

How about Use the search button your royal majesty, use 922r as your search parameter and revel in how much this has been discussed here and elsewhere I suspect.

Is that more to your liking? How do ya like me now? (gratuitous Toby Keith reference, everybody likes him except the Dixie Chicks)

  15. Yes sir I do know the law. Where I am confused or frustrated is all the endless Hype on being 922r compliant. Removing perfectly engineered parts form a weapon based on a law that has never been enforced, as far as I know, on the Benelli M4. It is most certainly a choice. I guess where I get frustrated is the tone of those particular blogs makes it seem like if you don't remove these parts by the numbers then you will somehow be at great risk of federal prosecution, This is simply not true nor should it be insinuated or implied . Our government on a state and federal level will not even enforce our immigration laws which are so blatantly violated every day. I don't mean to get off topic. I most certainly appreciate the education on switching out parts by the numbers and making a conscience choice to comply or not but lets keep the consequences realistic if you choose not to.

Dude, I think it's been made clear here that there aren't guys field stripping M4's at gun ranges to determine 922r compliance.

    It's an addon FELONY.

Did you hear the word FELONY? Could be a misdemeaner, but I'll bet when it's compounded with whatever else, it would be a FELONY.

So when the Gubment is nailing your hide to the wall for the primary offence, they can get bonus points for an illegal gun charge. SCORE!

They put Freakin' Martha Stewart in prison for God's sake. Who are you?

You want to play with BATF? That's your business and ya takes ya chances.

But if I was gonna play that game? I wouldn't be shooting my mouth off about it on the Internet...

That's just bad playin' technique in my opinion.
