I got one with teeth because I read a retired judge say his years on the bench taught him a shotgun was the most fought over home defense weapon, which makes sense. Who ever grabs the end of my gun is going to feel the teeth.

Raised bumps on Duca Di Montefeltro receiver
StreetSweeper56 replied to Hill_Country's topic in Benelli
Sounds very expensive and it really doesn't look THAT bad. Personally, I'd just let it be... that's the way you got the gun and the bumps are just a part of its history. Who's to say it won't happen again in 20 years anyway. -
I have one too and they really work well. Different size mirrors for different calibers were ~$20 and the box it comes even doubles as a storage case.

New to the forum... M4 Break-in advise please.
StreetSweeper56 replied to Jay Efees's topic in Benelli
None that I know of here, m-lok won't fit. I'd ask the dealer where you got the guns there. -
It's important to select a choke tube with little to no constriction. That's why a cylinder or improved cylinder choke is ideal for use with slugs. These types of chokes have a large enough diameter to shoot slugs without damaging the shotgun barrel or causing harm to the person firing. Don't shoot ANYTHING through a threaded barrel without a choke in it, yes it will damage the threads.
-
True, the gun barrel contains the combustion, not the brass. I've seen rifle cartridges explode from heat, the brass splits, the bullet doesn't go far.
-
Almost certainly a shell issue, try some different, new shells.

why chose cerakote option OVER REGULAR CAMO PATTERN on SBE 3
StreetSweeper56 replied to Chris Schelb's topic in Benelli
I have several guns Cerakoted including my M4, scroll to "not quite finished" for pics. It's practically indestructable, there is a youtube video of them Cerakoting a metal sheet then shooting it with a slug. The metal dents severely but the coating does not crack. The finish will outlive us all. -
This has brought up a rather interesting (for me) search. It appears they have the same charge but in the shell on the right much of it is exposed. I wondered, "will that cause problems?" This lead to "what does the brass actually do?" And apparently, the answer is, not much other than give the extractor something to latch onto. Anyone with more knowledge than me care to weigh in?
-
Oh I agree, they'll fit 7 to a tube so I have a lot but I was just loading up some velcro side saddles, opened another box and noticed the difference. Looks like the same amount of charge; just odd.
-
Lol! 2 different lots of Fetter ammo, maybe this is what reviews meant when they said, "inconsistent". Look at the difference in brass size! Wow, I'll still shoot them but still...

Sorry, guess I should have mentioned it; Noveske Bazooka Green.

Actually I was, very perceptive!

Welcome! My advice is to take one, spray some oil in it, take it to the range and run a box or two of shells through it. The other? Sell to me... -
Here's my M4 Cerakoted. Briley handguard, Briley safety, A&S trigger guard, M60 sling, Surefire light, Match saver, custom charging handle (from BK02) Trijicon red dot and Scalarworks mount (from Alpha33). Thanks y'all! Apologies for the pics, I have NO beautiful scenery.

Might Cerakote my M1…Looking for Color Suggestions and Ideas.
StreetSweeper56 replied to Nala's topic in Benelli
Have you gone to Cerakote and looked at their myriad selection of colors? Each color has examples of what it looks like on various pieces, it's a simple website to navigate. What's your favorite color? Are you trying to match a particular environment? Do you want a single color or a multi-color pattern? Personally I went with a single color. If I want to camo it I can get inexpensive latex paint and color it on. It won't last forever but it's easily removable allowing me to change at will depending on my mood and the season. All things to think about and only you can decide for yourself; hope this helps. -
Hey, look what just shipped, thanks Doge!

WTS: Strike Industries Hayl Rail and Link Curved Foregrip...
StreetSweeper56 replied to AIRB0RNE6176's topic in Benelli
I have one but in FDE, I shot ~50 shells with it, at least mine was tight without using stabilizing screws (YMMV). I've since replaced it with a Briley handguard. -
AMMOLAND has a write up on the M4. I don't think there's any "new" information to be gleaned but it's fun to see a beloved in the news! https://www.ammoland.com/2021/11/the-benelli-m4-the-marines-fighting-shotgun/

Titanium/Steel Locking Charging Handle Cerekote Black
StreetSweeper56 replied to RxArms's topic in Benelli
I am on your list for a black one as of today, I like a selection of charging handles. -
I've never tried the round pad but I really like the GG&G. It's wide enough to not miss even under stress and has a more positive feel on release than the OEM probably because it sits higher; they're often sold out.
-
Wish I'd have been there, I have some solid gold shells with platinum slugs that I've been looking for just the RIGHT gun to put them through...
-
GG&G has their bolt release pads for all Benelli "M" models back in stock. I have the M4 pad installed on my shotgun and it works wonderfully, just an FYI.
-
Nice family foto! I should do that sometime. I guess my rarest scattergun is the Baker "Batavia Special" made before 1919. I've never shot it though, I'm afraid of cracking that 100+ year old wood. 20" bbl, it was a working coach gun; I asked it if it ever blasted anyone but I got no answer.
-
I've shot a few boxes of it and M4 eats it right up. It's good stuff from Italy, unfortunately only 6 will fit in the tube, otherwise it primo!
