jon.benton
What do you guys think is the best shell-choke combination for shooting coyotes? If you can get close enough....definitely a 00 Buckshot or something similar with a modified choke. I'd recommend a small caliber rifle, .22 if you are worried about collateral damage. It doesn't take much to knock down a coyote, but getting close can be a challenge.
tucker301
Lead - Copper Plated #4 Buck Non-Toxic - Hevishot Dead Coyote T's No tighter than modified for either.
Unobtanium
BB through #4 buck and whatever choke will sling it the tightest. You might very well have good luck with a turkey-choke and BB for all you know. MOD is definitely not the end of the road with small shot like this. In fact, using OO buck I improved patterns down to .685" constriction with one choke. (be careful with this new "heavy" type shot, it's very hard and might not be suited to a turkey choke)

Novaking
I use the Hevi T shot and the dead coyote choke from carslons. It works great.
Guest Dalia8
We have a coyote that has been hanging around our neighborhood and I would like to get rid of the problem before it gets rid of our cat or attacks our dogs. I live in Ohio and there are no restrictions on hunting coyote because they are overpopulated. I own a Mossberg 500 Field/Slugster Combo. I assumed that using the rifled barrel with a slug would be my best option. Would I be better off using that or some other shotshell with the field barrell? Any help would be appreciated. The words slug and neighborhood are never a good idea together. Shotshells would be better. You could poison a cat and use it to bait the yote.
