Benelli choke tube tool modification....

Recommended Posts

I did this about five years ago. Wanted a choke tool to more easily remove and install chokes. While there are some nice ones available, $20-30 is nuts for a uni-task tool

-Take your Benelli factory choke tool and drive the cross pin out.

-Drill the hole put to 7/32”

-Chamfer the edges to remove any burrs

-Use a #1 Phillips screw driver or a USGI steel cleaning rod section as a new handle

I got one of my chokes stuck pretty good on my M4. I ruined a Briley choke tube wrench and buggered up the choke tube. I used the stock Benelli choke wrench and tapped the "arms" with a hammer to break it loose. It worked but I bent the arms on my Benelli wrench. This mod seems like a good idea. And it will help it fit in the choke tube box better.
