stepbill
Just bought my Benelli M4 and love it. I've been playing with it some and was wondering if you have to remove the barrel in order to remove the charging handle?
NoTycoon
To remove the charging handle, just twist and pull.

benelliwerkes
The bolt handle has a simple recess that is captured by a spring-loaded ball detent integral to the bolt. Lateral pull will be sufficient to liberated the bolt handle from the bolt. The bolt handle can then be utilized to displace the receiver trigger group retaining pin for field disassembly. 1
ClackClackBAM
Spin it a few times and feel for how it grabs the bolt. You'll quickly get a feeling for how it works and when to pull it out. Won't take long for it to become second-nature to you! Also, don't be afraid to ask questions. We've got a good group on this forum and are always happy to share our knowledge. Welcome to the board! 1
Anjin-san
Is the CG&G design inferior because of the way the detent is cut compared to the OEM and other bolt handles?
NoTycoon
IMHO, all GG&G parts are inferior. I had one of their bolt handles break off during cycling.
