tucker301 Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Yesterday was graduation day at VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University). My daughter and her boyfriend (since 10th grade) both graduated with honors and majors in German and Physics, respectively. Both are attending grad school in the Fall. Brandon chose to attend graduation, while my daughter Erica chose to wait until she got her masters to do the big show. VCU handed out 3,363 diplomas yesterday. Both Brandon and Erica were in the top 1% of their class. That means that two graduates of the local public school system accounted for 6% of the top 1% (2 of 34) of the VCU graduating class of 2007. Not bad for a rural public school system. Not bad at all. Both students are the first in their families to receive a college diploma. Quote
