ArthurMorgan
Is there any true benefit to the aluminum guards, or just a personal preference thing?
Fullassault
I assume the aluminum is stronger than the polymer TG.
Unobtanium
Lol, wow. That be fast. I bet they just found one somewhere while moving stock or something.
SVT
I've seen posts before about MGW stocking the OEM aluminum frames. What I've gleaned here is that those frames are a tighter spec for when it comes to replacing and upgrading trigger parts, and while most prefer aluminum over the polymer material anyhow, the aluminum castings aren't too pretty either and have some imperfections and impurities. I'd just spend a little more and go right to an A&S.

That’s actually why I decided to grab one of these for $50 less

It's proven, and was a contract item. 1
Doge
I've found the metal trigger guards have a nicer, snappier safety button feel. The plastic version saves like 2 seconds on assembly because there is a removable washer for the carrier plunger. Very trivial differences for me so I would be okay with either.
Fullassault
Do the FCG part swap over to the aluminum TG or will I need aluminum TG Specific parts?
Doge
going from plastic to metal you won't need anything.

Fullassault
pretty painless swap. The TG goes in much easier now, the safety is 2x as loud and has a more sold feel. Not sure it was a necessity but I’d do it again! ?
