  1. Assembling my brand new Benelli M4, following the instructions in the Owner's Manual. Step 7: "With the barrel extension resting on the bolt head, and the bolt head fitting into the recess formed into the barrel extension, slip the barrel into receiver. A metallic click will indicate the barrel is correctly seated" I don't hear any clicking sound, but the barrel is flush with the receiver (see pic). I can pull the barrel away again with a moderate tug. Does this sound/look correct? It seems the fore-end fastening cap is what really keeps the barrel tight to the receiver. The bolt cycles fine, everything appears to be in order, I'm just concerned because I do not hear a metallic "click" per the instructions. Hope it's right cause I can't wait to shoot this baby.

  4. I ghost load all of the time in 3-gun competition. It is still a complex operation. I pull the bolt all the way back, drop one shell in the chamber (muzzle pointed down), then bring the bolt back to half closed and feed the ghost round under the bolt then down on the lifter. Drop the bolt and go.

  5. Well...... in my case, I pull the bolt back far enough so that only about a quarter inch of it is still visible at the ejection port window, that's just shy of it actuating the elevator..... then I drop a shell down with the rear of it as far back as it can go and press it down till I feel/hear a snap. Then holding my thumb on top of the shell. I release the bolt forward. Others probably have a different way to do it but that's how I do it.

  6. For break in, I ran 00 buck and slugs. Honestly I used the cheapest I could find. All the heavy loads worked with no failures. I initially had some failures with Walmart value pack target loads. Now I'm running Federal 3 dram, 1 1/8 oz. target loads, $19.95 from Walmart with complete reliability which makes it easier since I can actually find this ammo and afford to shoot it.

  7. It's a beautiful shotgun with both beautiful and rugged build quality, but you get your money's worth when you beat the shit out of it I've been running Federal buck and slugs mostly, some S&B sport slugs, and more Federal 3" buck (00 and 000) and slugs. I've had 3 malfunctions in my ~700 rounds, two of which might've been the aftermarket mag extension/spring, and one potentially from hip firing lmao. I think there's probably more lube required for breaking in, otherwise it runs pretty well for me now without applying oil before I shoot.

  8. I think they are just talking the barrel mating with receiver. But, won't click if you are gentle.
