  1. Hello everyone - I just wanted to show my current M4 build for anyone interested. I still need to add my Streamlight, but I have the equipment for that. I ponied up for the collapsible stock which I got for $600 from Benellipartsusa within a few days of ordering! I may add the new 6 position recoil tube, but I think the mid position may work for me.

  2. Yep, all good observations, well said. I stippled my OEM handguards and can't imagine better ergonomics. Also agree that an optimal weapon light mount solution has yet to surface, at least for my purpose. Rasyad

  3. Not just for the M4, but almost all shotgun magazine spring removal / installations that have an aperture in the magazine retaining cap, I employ an aluminum thru- rod with chamfered edges that engage the follower, spring and magazine retaining cap which controls the spring in a predictable linear manner if it gets away from you.

  4. No, the hand guards are considered one piece. Which means the oem set isn’t counting against you twice either. 922 is an asinine invention of politicians, so it’s guaranteed not to make any sense.

  5. Thanks all. I have no doubt that cutting the barrel will not reduce reliability on an M3. I’m not worried about that. I was looking for recommendations on the barrel work. Some say you can have the cut and threaded for choke some say you can’t. I do know that my googlefu is pretty decent, and I can not find a single shop that advertises barrelwork that will work on an M3, let alone cut and thread for chokes on an M3Combat barrel. Is there no way to order a factory short barrel that is threaded for chokes, like the M3 in the photo on Benelli. It ? Also where do I find the parts or kit for this? (It is called the BMS, Benelli Modular Stock)

  6. The traditional M4 weighs in at 7.8 pounds unloaded. This new model with its rail and different stock weigh in at 8.4 lbs. Considering most of the new stock is polymer, my guess is most of the gain lives in that rail. I'd assume this rail is either 6065 or 7075 aluminum. So its a bit of a chonker. Looking at the rail closer, I don't think those are MLOK/Keymod sockets. It appears to have threaded holes for attaching Picatinny rail sections. In two years, I'll be at 20 years on this platform. I've been riding the struggle bus chasing a proper rail system all that time for the sole purpose of mounting a weapon light in an efficient manner. Nothing beats the ergonomics of the OEM polymer handguards, extra points if they're stippled professionally. Every rail system out there for the Benelli M4 has been poorly designed. Poor installation systems that require the use of tools to service the firearm. Terrible ergonomics where you're holding onto a Pringles can. Stupidly positioned Picatinny/MLOK/Keymod rail positions that have little to no thought process on why they are there. Failure inducing designs where the rail makes contact with the gas pistons. All add substantial weight to the firearm. All rail systems abandon the enclosed ARGO piston design that keeps debris out and gases trapped inside. This is why the IWC weapon light mount is so popular for the M4. It gets you a serviceable light mounting solution without ruining the firearm with stupid crap. Unfortunately the mounting solution isn't perfect either on 18.5" M4's. Most of these rail systems require that you remove all of your accessories from the rail in order to slide the thing off of the barrel assembly. So after you've locked all your screws in with thread locker to keep them from being shaken loose, you get to do it over and over again for general maintenance of the ARGO system.

  7. Not to bum you guys out too much, but having seen free and fair elections, free speech, fair reporting in the media, energy independence, common sense, decency, the border, etc go out the window ... Unless there is some sort of military coup or civil war or Divine Intervention to turn back the Woke Mob, it is just a matter of time before forums like this are declared to be Hate Speech Centers and are Banned from the Internet. No joke. I have no doubt that the Demoncrats in the ATF, FBI, Whatever Sneaky Secret Dept are already monitoring our posts here and on similar forums, and are just waiting to pounce. Sad stuff but it's also an interesting time to be alive - to watch individual cities, perhaps regions, and then the country as a whole just melt down into lawlessness and mayhem.
