1. I think it would be beneficial to get a small video from you, locking your stock into position clearly showing what you are doing so we can see exactly what is going on, with a detailed shot of the buffer tube where your buttstock is. 2. Are you certain you are not in the "off" slot? Meaning, you think you are locked into a position but in fact you are half way on the off slot, and when you fire the stock jolts off the slot and back onto the flats and collapses? 3. Does the stock rotate to the right when it collapses or does it remain in the correctly timed position? 4. Are you using the legacy stock or the new supernova stock? IMO the rate of fire has nothing to do with this issue.

This is a post designed to help people who are considering a firearm that fits this genre. Self defense/combative. I remember my first Benelli like it was yesterday. Back in the late 2000s, I snagged an 11707. Immediately I bought an OEM mag tube from Numrich and installed it. I was murdering milk jugs at 100m with it with slugs, and mulching brush with buck and bird. This was back when the CB05(?) stuff was around. 12 copper plated 00 pellets at 1290fps from 2.75" shells. The weapon would malunfunion near the end of each tube. I figured it was a spring issue. Dropped in an m1s90 police spec spring. Issue ceased. Then came my desire to seriously use the gun. I needed a light. There was just no way to affix one, really. The surefire handguard either wasn't out, didn't fit the barrel flange of the 11707 models, or whatever, and LED lights were in their infancy, with Malkoff being the only real solution on a modded 6P. Begrudgingly, I left the platform and bought an ar15. I could put a light on it. Optics were also more available, as I remember, we were stuck with the LaRue shredding split rail and minimal options other than LaRue or SWAN back then. I destroyed a Pride Fowled rds mount like that. Then Kip Carrier entered the scene. Rails, full 1913. Ti mag tubes. Proper springs. Still no great light mounts. Then AVA tactical introduced a viable solution. As did Fab Defense (?) with their wonky little 1913 section on the sling groove ring. Things really hit full stride with thr IWC mounts. Scalarworks SYNC optic mounts. I played with the benelli m4 off and on over the last roughly 1.5 decades, but only around the late 20-teens did it truly become a viable, cohesive weapon system, and I absolutely love my m4 Entry gun. Time marches on, though, and MFALs, thermal, nvds, etc have become a thing. Once again, I have moved back to the ar15 carbine platform. I can mount my mfal, my light, an lpvo, a piggyback nvd compatible rds, etc. I am excited for the day when we integrate this stuff into the gauge. I have already tried with a Surefire xvl2irc on an IWC light mount 1913 section, it just didn't pan out.

Same. Yes, I agree it would be nice if it was more flush, but again it hasnt caused me any issues, yet, lol.

Exactly. Like racing a car, or anything else "with no practical purpose" it can be fun to mag dump, and it's a good way to put a shotgun through it's paces and ensure that is is properly cycling. If my AR, or glock, would choke when rapid firing, then it's an issue, same with a semi auto shotgun. During combat, one may need to fire off a few rounds in rapid succession. Though some don't "believe" in semi auto shotguns and think everyone only needs a pump. But this is AMERICA, we are free to choose what we wish. Let the Fudd's keep their pump guns! The other issue is, that if the stock is collapsing when it is not supposed too, there is likely something wrong that is not a design flaw. That issue could present itself during another situation, IE if one is firing stout recoiling magnum loads. Obviously, have the gun do anything it's not supposed to do it cause for concern.

I have rapid fired my M4 before just for the experience and to see if I could outrun it (I couldn't); pretty fun but not something I'm going to do everyday. I've also pulled both triggers at once on my Baikal SxS coach gun, there's no padding on a Baikal, not doing that again either.

FWIW....to modify the later era Benelli bolts carriers (M2, SBE2, M3, etc.) to allow a ghost load it is NOT necessary to fill in the rear notch. Just bevel the back edge of the notch about 45 degrees as these pictures show. That is all it takes.

No, the hand guards are considered one piece. Which means the oem set isn’t counting against you twice either. 922 is an asinine invention of politicians, so it’s guaranteed not to make any sense.

Why would you do any modifications for that? My M4 can ghost load but I don’t see any practical value.

OP didn’t mention about wanting to increase limited capacity. In which case you would normally want to add a mag tube extension but not ghost load. I asked because I really wanted to know about any practical usage of ghost loading. But instead I learned there is a kibitzer on this forum

The M4 is a combat shotgun...Might as well ask why anyone would want a semi auto shotgun or rifle at all? Why would anyone need to rapid fire? All these semi autos should be banned!!! "High cap mags" too! Nobody needs more than 5 rounds for any legitimate serious use. I DARE anyone to show me what situation that an HONEST man would need to have more than 5 rounds in their gun! 🙄 🤡
