  1. That one's a trophy! I don't care if you've been hunting for 30 minutes or for 30 years... That one's a TROPHY! Congratulations, young man! Well done!
  2. Adobe is for editing. You would still need to employ one of the free hosting services in order to post pictures to these and other forums. Thanks for the bd wish! I got a Browning BAR Shortrac Stalker, but I've had it a few weeks now. I shot a nice 8 pointer last Saturday with it. Lasered the range yesterday when I was back at that spot and it was 281 yards. I was guestimating 250 when I shot him. I'm looking for a nice .270 WSM bolt gun for beanfield deer now. I discovered that the ballistics of the .270 WSM 130 grain match perfectly to my 22-250 50 grain out to 600 yards. This will allow me to use my Varmint scope, which has a custom compensation dial already tuned for those loads.
  3. 1. The picture must be hosted online somewhere. You cannot link to pictures on your own computer. Free online hosting services include www.photobucket.com , www.hunt101.com , as well as others. 2. The image hosting services will provide you with a URL (Uniform Resource Locator) for each of your images. This is the web address used to display the image in a browser. For example, if you right-click on this image and choose, Properties from the context menu, you will see the URL http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s117/tucker301/bush_popesanta.jpg 3. The easiest way to insert an image into a post is to use the image insert button provided on the posting toolbar. It looks like this . Photobucket and other services may give you more than one option on links for your pictures, including image codes. Image codes can be pasted into your post and save you the step of clicking the image insertion button. We look forward to seeing your pictures! More tips: Most modern digital cameras default to a relatively large image size (resolution). This size is measured in pixels. The above image is 500 X 228 pixels. Check your image size before uploding it your hosting service. Some services will limit the size, but they still my be too large for practical use on forums. Unless very fine detail is needed, pictures 600 to 800 pixels wide is usually as high as it needs to go. Most modern PC's come with some sort of image editing software included. There are many good free programs as well. Picasa is simple and easy, but limited. http://picasa.google.com/ Irfanview is a bit more advanced, but also a bit more technical. http://www.irfanview.com/ GIMP is a very advanced program which can do just about everything that Adobe Photoshop can do, but for free. http://www.gimp.org/downloads/
  4. I'd give you better than average odds on something like this. Benelli CS is usually very accomodating.
  5. I've only fired the browning once. First five minutes of the general firearms season. 8 pointer down
  6. For the most part camo patterns are for people. I've had game nearly step on me while I was wearing jeans and a dark shirt.
  7. I like one that works. I use it to see when it's dark.
  8. I've had Bushnell, Steiner, Cabela's, Nikon, and Leupold. I'm stuck on Leupold. Wind River Cascade 10 X 42. Small enough to travel, yet big enough to gather low light and strong enough to count points.
  9. You must be joking! Looks like the doc asks questions and then argues the answers when they're given to him. I'm glad he isn't my doc episode 3
  10. Mmmmmmmmm.... teal
  11. deerhunter, I don't see where it would be a problem shooting it with no shims installed. Do you not have shims for yours?
  12. You may want to post the question here as well. http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewforum.php?f=57
  13. I would lean towards the tension of the spring causing them to compress. The constant pressure, especially if it's a warm environment, could be causing the problems.
  14. I did kill a nice 8 point buck five minutes into firearms season with my new Browning. No pictures though.
  15. It's actually quite simple. 922r is superseded by the 2nd amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America; THE supreme law of our nation. Therefore, 922r is an illegal law which infringes upon the rights of the citizenry to keep and bear arms. If you are a citizen of the United States you may feel free to ignore 922r and any other laws which restrict or prohibit your rights under the Constitution. If you don't feel free, then by all means try to conform to the government's restrictions. Just don't come whining to me when they start taking away more of your basic freedoms.
  16. Never tried Red Hook, but I will soon
  17. If it's just the barrel, you could DIY. http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/GunTech/NewsletterArchive.aspx?x=v&p=0&t=1&i=734
  18. It would probably take a VERY long time to get it back from Benelli. Is it blued or is it the black oxide finish? Is the metal pitted or was it surface rust? If it's not too severe, I'd try to stabilize it with some cold blue or flat black paint until the seasons are over with. Then, I'd send it to either Birdsong (arguably the best there is) or to one on these shops to have it refinished. http://www.mrarms.com/ http://www.ccr-refinishing.com/ Properly applied, these finishes are just about bulletproof. They'll clean up the spray paint that you may apply to make it last through the season. Another option would be to have it dipped.
  19. Careful boys! I think it's one of the insurgent "blow up" dolls he's offering.
  20. What's good for removing Sam Adams from an LCD?
  21. What company is that? Without some sort of proof, your claims are just as empty as Benelli's promise of your bird barrel.
  22. That's a good one too! I'll see your Kleenex and raise you a
  23. HW, you and I don't always agree, but that right there is funny
  24. You should've bought the smooth barrel.
  25. Any chance that your Uncle is the same guy in this story? http://www.ksdk.com/news/watercooler/hot_topics_article.aspx?storyid=133997
