The problem you're experiencing with your M2000 is a common one. Although I have yet to have the opportunity to fix one that was doing this, I suspect it has to do with the crappy design on the recoil spring. Someone here has mentioned that stretching the spring can cure the problem, so that's something you want to try. If you overstretch it, it will fit the tube too tightly, so do it in small increments.

Hevi-shot 100 per ounce Steel 125 per ounce

Click the specifications link for each gun and you will see the recommended minimums for loads. All Inertia 12 guage Benellis are designed for 1-1/8 ounce or more. If you are going to consitently shoot light loads, then you'll probably want a gas gun. Beretta, Winchester, Browning, and Remintgon all make nice gas guns. The Franchi 48AL is long recoil operated, using barrel movement to cycle the action. Gas guns will also deliver lower felt recoil to the shoulder of the high volume shooter. Others will tell you that their Benellis will cycle lighter loads without fail, and some do indeed. But Benelli will not "fix" a gun that doesn't cycle 7/8 ounce loads, because it is not broken to begin with.

Why would these parts not be installed on a new gun?
-
After what it did to that styrofoam cup, I'd be real careful with it around plastics.
-
The gun already cycles more quickly than I can line up a second shot and pull the trigger. No need to have it go any faster. If you want it, buy it.
-
If I had the older SBE I might consider one if my OEM parts were corroded, but overall I'd consider them as replacement parts and not upgrades.

This link is brought to you by . Paint that thing!

Exactly. Also cycling 3 seconds on - 3 seconds off works geat if they're out there and not commited.
-
It's called "stovepiping" and some SBE's do it with certain brands of ammo. What kind of ammo are you shooting?

Anybody else get weird e-mail from Benelli Armi with a bunch of pictures attached? The window is kinda cool.

Nothing usually. I like the silence and I revel in the fact that I'm about to have several hours of it.

http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=82554757 Plenty more on gunbroker and other sites if that one doesn't suit you. It's ridiculously easy to buy a gun online these days. Yes, he offered you decent trade, but you can sell yours straight out and do well too.

But that is funny

This is an OLD thread that got resurected. The OP hasn't been heard from since Feb. '07.

There's got to be a very slim slice of the population who would even get that joke to begin with. Not only do you have to be old enough to remember Hoss, but you have to be off kilter enough to have watched "The Holy Grail" at least seven times http://youtube.com/watch?v=PqD0RufWwYw

Has anyone been doing any fall turkey hunting?
tucker301 replied to CH/QuakerBoyProstaff's topic in Turkey Hunting
The season's not in here yet. The early duck season passed without any reaction from me, other than frustration with the weather. I refuse to hunt anything but groundhogs when it's over 90. On top of the record heat, we're suffering the worst drought I've ever seen. It's actually a few very light showers this AM with a cold front coming through, but we're WAY short for the year. -
Threaded 2.6mm

This used to be the case, but it has been overcome with advances in powders and other load components. Many of the old-timers still pass along this bit of ancient and outdated wisdom as gospel.
-
The whole break-in thing is overated in my opinion. As long as you shoot loads that meet or exceed the receommended minimums, just take the darned thing and go hunting. If you do have some problem while hunting, then maybe go and abuse your shoulder on the back 40. Buddy of mine bought a brand new SBEII and took it out of the box at the dove field. He shot three boxes of 1-1/8 ounce loads and it never missed a beat. No, he doesn't shoot very well.

The 24" will do fine for duck hunting as well, as pattern performance is more a factor of the choke tube than it is barrel length. View epsiode 3 here http://americangundog.com/straightshooting_AGD1.html The longer receivers on pump-action and semi-autos also make up for shorter barrel lengths. Your gun with its 24" barrel will be about the same overall lenghth as a over/under with 28" barrels. Shoot some clays and see how you like it. If you still want a longer barrel, check gunbroker and similar sites for deals, but expect to pay dearly for a Benelli barrel.
