The tax issue brings up an intersting point. Conceivably, I could buy a gun from an online seller in another state, pay the FFL transfer and shipping charges, and still come out ahead of buying one from the store down the street. This site does a good job of spelling it out. http://www.ozarkguns.com/htm/buy_online_to_save_money.htm

The top/visible portion is red plastic, but it should be mounted on a threaded metal post. Go to the Benelli Italian website and view the parts breakdown for your gun. http://www.benelli.it/Home.asp?Lan=EN

It's screwed in. Unscrew it to remove. Screw the new one in. http://www.gamaliel.com/cart/customer/product.php?productid=2236&cat=1206&page=1

Thanks. Just to be clear... On your right-handed gun, the recess and the diamond shaped button are on the right-hand side. Is this correct?
-
Cut into the trigger guard, there is a diamond shaped recess behind the safety button. On my LH model, the recess is on the right side of the gun; the side with the round head of the safety button. On a RH gun, the recess would match the diamond shaped safety button. Is yours this way? [ 05-18-2005, 06:44 AM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]

I think the lighter weight of the gun and the ComforTech's recoil reduction cancel each other out. If you shoot mags. in the SBEII, you WILL be kicked in a teeth rattling manner. In hunting situations, I don't even notice it. On the bench, it's prominent.

The Stoeger was an unexpected purchase. It's always nice to keep cash on hand. You never know when you'll meet someone who wants to sell something for much less than it's worth. I'm still on the fence between Alcione and Citori for my 20 ga. O/U selection. I have shouldered the Citori. It's going to be a tough one to beat.

This one's actually been tested and proven. The Max 4 is faster from sea level to 3,000 ft., and again above the tree line. The Timber is faster from 3,001 ft. right up to the tree line. However, this is only true if the guns are both right-handed models. Strangely enough, if they are both left-handed, the perfomances are exactly opposite of those listed above. Furhtermore, A Mossberg thrown off a sheer cliff is faster than all Benellis. I'd love to stick around and explain this, but "The Deadliest Catch" is coming on in just a few minutes. IMHO, compared to Leupold, or even Swift (best warranty out there, BTW), Nikon stinks in the freezer of an eskimo in the dead of winter. The short mags have been around for a few years now. Bone up, why dontcha?

Savage Model 10FCM Sierra – with AccuTrigger™ in 300 WSM. Best big game bolt for the money. Leupold VariXIII 3-9X50mm - Best optics for any money. You couldn't run fast enough to give me another Nikon scope.

Crack. It's not just for breakfast anymore.

HA! Seriously, You say you share the name with your son, so it's now obvious that you have at least one other person in the home. Please be careful in your home defense load selection. Larger shot and slugs go through sheetrock like paper.

The "best" depends on your situation, living arrangements, and location. If you live alone, and away from other people, then buckshot or a combo load of buck and ball would be devastating. However, this kind of load could easily pass through walls and into adjacent rooms, apartments, and even close-by houses and injure or kill innocents. If your situation merits it, a lighter load of birdshot can be just as devating at close range, but harmless to others in the home or close by. Firequest makes some awesome home defense rounds and they can be found in their catalogue at www.firequest.com. I can't wait to slip one of their flamethrower rounds into my duck hunting partner's gun next season. Should be quite a show at first light. The prefered choke would be cylinder or imp. cylinder. Let's review this whole mess and try to put a cap on it. FACTS: 1. The OP, Al Case is from Minnesota, and was asking about chokes for upland game and waterfowl. 2. Minnesota requires than non-lead shot be used for waterfowl, but they do allow for the use of steel and alternatives. All shot requirements are listed here: http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/rlp/regulations/hunting/waterfowl.pdf 3. Benelli recommends not using IM and F chokes with steel shot, but it is generall accepted that these chokes can be used with legal alternatives such as bismuth, tungsten, tungsten-iron. Gun_guy, It would have been more responsible of you to qualify your recommendation for IM choke on geese by saying that it should be used with non-steel shot only. Al Case, I hope these few facts clear up any doubts or misconceptions regarding the use of factory chokes in Minnesota.

I don't shoot skeet very often, but my last outing was 24/25. I only shoot skeet as a primer for hunting. The only real target shooting I do anymore is punching holes in paper, one at a time, trying to make all the holes in the same spot

Thanks for the heads-up. Hopefully, this rumor will become reality soon. Maybe the ComforTech stocks will even be as widely available as the extra barrels.
-
That's better than some twice your age ever get. Nice shooting! Glad to see a 13 yr. old intersted in the shooting sports.

Did you say that it would be in the 300 mag only, or was there any indication that other calibers would be available in Comfortech?
