  1. I had a hunch you'd miss that one, but it was worth a shot. As for the comment regarding the country being in safe hands; we could turn it over to circus clowns and be better off than we've been for the past 8 years.
  2. As long as the laws do not stop criminals from having the ability to arms themselves, they have little chance of stopping me from doing the same. I obey the Constitution and my conscience. I had written lots more, but I just removed it all. A stated, this isn't the place for these kinds of discussions. Every single person who reads these posts could change their minds and vote the other way on next Tuesday, and it would matter none at all. This one's in the books, and I'm just happy to see the whitehouse getting new tennants in January.
  3. Your fellow Oklahomans have already decided for you that your single vote means nothing in the grand scheme of things. You may as well go hunting on Tuesday and not worry about it anymore. McCain leads OK by a near 2-1 ratio. You may be personally undecided, but the rest of the state is solidly red. Personally, as someone voting in a tightly contested state, I have already educated myself well beyond the issue of gun control, and I have decided that whatever flavor of change we get will be change for the better.
  4. Noob, What state do you live in?

kafasi, Where are you? I wish we could still use lead on waterfowl.

The split receiver design of the SBEII is the way that every semi-automatic shotgun should be made. It's one sweet piece of cake to clean.
  7. I doubt that you'd find that part anywhere other than direct from Benelli. Call CS and ask them the price. I'd recommend sitting with a shot of bourbon at the ready.
  8. Sorry, I missed the part about you being from Missouri.
  9. Measuring the M2 I have here, you're looking at about 16" of length for a 26" barrel.
  10. What I was trying subtly infer is that you could simply measure the distance between the mag cap and the end of the barrel and then contact the maker/seller of the extension and ask them about the lengths. Extensions are made by a number of companies, including Benelli. If you want the original Benelli, then call CS and ask them. If you want Tacstar, then ask them. Roughly, I'd say 3" per round plus another 3" for the compressed spring.
  11. The safety uses a rounded ball fitting into a set of impressions in the crossbolt. Spring pressure above the detent keeps the crossbolt in position. Option 1 - Shorten the Spring CAUTION!: Reduced safety spring tension may result in an unsafe gun. Option 2 - Disassemble the safety mechanism and polish the mating surfaces to facilitate smoother operation. Focus on the impressions in the crossbolt. Option 3 - Exercise your fingers.
  12. Get the Beretta. Better off with a gas gun shooting girly loads at the range anyway.
  13. Try Quake Hush Stalker
  14. One that goes from the end of the original magazine to the end of the barrel would do it

  16. Not a blanket rule anymore. Here, it's a limit of three for migratory birds (except Spring snows), but small game and deer have no limits.
  17. Nice! Ours opened today as well, but the weather kept me out of the mood.
  18. My bad. You want a Comfortech model.

  20. I attribute the R1's "poor" grouping to several factors which work against repeatable accuracy. 1. heavy trigger pull 2. non-free-floating barrel 3. unrepeatable barrel to receiver torque 4. pencil-like barrels The only one of these you can really do anything about is number 1. The rest are designed into the gun. In Benelli's defense, the R1 isn't meant to be a MOA shooter. It's a short range repeater.
  21. Mine is tig welded, but I have done a friend's SBEII with Brownell's Steel Bed ( a mix of stainless steel powder and epoxy) with similar results.
  22. Well, it ain't Russia, but it works for me.
  23. Ahhhh, the omnipresent wisdom of the gun store salesman. Last week it was used cars or insurance. This week, he's the gun guru. Congrats on the purchase. You need to move, however. In VA, we can still buy guns from vending machines in tt bars
  24. Yes. Maybe, but I've never tried one. Remove the original. It unscrews.
