  1. If I'm not mistaken, the Canvasbacks are off-limits across the US this year. Meanwhile Canucks are enjoying a 7 bird limit
  2. Replace the sling with a standard type. Add a magazine cap stud.
  3. Skeet choke on tame birds. Reversing the safety is quite easy. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16591

  5. A good epoxy like Brownell's Acraglass or SteelBed might do it. I'd drill small holes in each half to help anchor the epoxy into the material, instead of just have a surface bond. Black dye can be added to achieve a close match on the color.
  6. After reading someone of the thoughtful replies, I wish to announce that I have changed my mind on the issue. Here's what I'll do to insure that the intruder has little to no incentive to do my family and myself any harm whatsoever. 1. I have a recording of some racking an action. This will be played for the intruder, but not so loudly so as to damage his hearing and open myself up to possible litigation for damages. 2. I will always keep a freshly baked pie and a hot pot of coffee at the ready, so as to make the intruder feel as though he/she is welcome and not in any danger. 3. I will always keep my valuables in plain sight, so as to not delay the intruder in his quest to relieve me of everything worth a darn in home. 4. I will keep my guns in plain view, with trigger and action locks in all of them. I will also keep the original boxes and manuals and warranties in close proximity, in case the intruder needs to take them from me. 5. I will post glamor shots pictures of my wife and daughter on the front and back doors of the residence. This will help the intruder to decide whether he'd like to put forth the effort in assaulting them or not. Thanks to the (|)'s who have posted in this thread, for I'm quite certain their sage advice has saved me the aggravation of having to hire and expensive lawyer, should my home ever be invaded.
  7. Too much to read. What's the summary? One sentence please.
  8. You have an answer on shotgunworld forums. http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=160255
  9. Yes. They've been giving those poor FFA kids that same jacket for over 30 years. They still make a dork look more dorky.
  10. Pour out 40 lbs. of corn. That'll relax them.
  11. Not that simple or cut and dried. If the rut is in, then mid-morning can be very productive, if not the most productive. If the rut isn't in, then sunrise and sunset are when most movement occurs. Weather conditions, moon phases, hunting pressure, food availability and quality, and much more can contribute to how much time the deer spend on the move during the day.

  13. The Franchis sold by Dicks Golf and Tackle are functionally the same guns as the Alcione, Veloce, & Renaissance series. They are just cosmetically less appealing, but still nice. They are excellent firearms and will last a lifetime with proper care.
  14. Go here http://www.benelli.it/Articoli/Download.asp?Type=UM and download the Owner's Manual for your particular model.
  15. Bore snake Utility Brushes Hoppes Elite Field Cleaner or Breakfree CLP That's really all you need. If the trigger assembly or receiver is really gunked up, you can add Gunscrubber to the collection.
  16. timb99, This is the key point upon which we differ. The way I see it, anyone who breaks into my home has calculated a certain level of risk and has decided to take that risk. If he's banking on me saying, "Freeze!... while I check the legalities regarding shooting your sorry azz.", then he's made a grave error that will put him in the grave. I'm not interested in whether he's armed or not. I'm not interested in whether he's there to rob me, rape somebody, kill somebody, or borrow a cup of sugar. If he's uninvited, he's in deeper and headed for deeper. If his "human life" is worth the risk to him, it certainly means nothing to me.
  17. Not all gunsmiths do Duracoat and other finishes. The general consensus is that Walt Birdsong does the best work available. W E Birdsong & Associates 1435 Monterey Road Florence, MS 39073 (601) 939-7448 Others are available as well. http://www.ccrrefinishing.com http://www.mrarms.com
  18. Until the next day when you hear that there was another break in a few blocks away and somebody's grandmother was killed by a crackhead looking to score something for a fix. Fact is, the odds of any one of us being involved in such an incident are astronomical. BUT, if I am involved, I won't be thinking too much about what looks good in the eyes of the law. When seconds count, the police are just minutes away.
  19. Fact: Come into my house uninvited and I will shoot you. Myth: I will shoot you only once.

  21. I wouldn't expose it that much heat. Why not just use something made for guns like Duracoat?
  22. The same reason crack dealers don't run weekly specials
  23. Hope you have a good time in Boston.
  24. Most folks who shoulder a Benelli for the first time liken the experience to being jammed into Heidi Klum on a crowded city bus. Yeah, they're ergonomic. The ergonomics honeymoon ends abruptly when they fire their first heavy field load through them. The are lightweight, comfortable, fast swinging, good feeling shotguns. They are generally very reliable afield, as long as you take reasonable care of them. There are fewer things to break and go wrong than there are in gas-operated guns, and all the carbon and gunk go out the end of the barrel instead of being routed back into the gun. Benelli has millions fans and a handful of detractors. Therein lies their proof of value.
  25. No problem, playa!
