SigsRus - Actually it isn't a G36 but an HK SL8-1. It is semi-automatic only. It has been SBR'd. Yes, the P226 has been favored by the Teams, however I have different stats about the use of the Mark 23 in the SEAL community. It about a 50/50 split between Team members. My two good friends still prefer the Mark 23 for spec-ops use. Also the Sig P226 is going to be replaced within a year. HK is the front runner with their new HK45. Yes, the Mark 23 is not a concealable weapon, but it wasn't designed for that. My duty weapon is a USP40C. It's alot more concealable than the Mark 23, however it can't match the Mark 23 for pure shooting pleasure. It has a heafty price tag at around $2400.00 new, and when you start adding a KAC suppressor and Insight Technologies LAM, it comes in at $5,000.00. Definitely not for most, and I realize that.
  3. Very nice looking sling M1014, thank you for sharing.

The HK Mark 23 is THE pistol to have. It is a tack driver! And with the KAC suppressor, you don't even notice the recoil. The tactical is a fine handgun, but it is NOT a Mark 23. I own both and have shot both suppressed and unsuppressed. The HK Mark is in a class all by itself.
  5. Yea, I was able to find an extension for the M1014. My gun store said that they had dried up.
  6. I remember that one from GWLE magazine!
  7. Wow M1014, what a gorgeous piece!
  8. Yea, I was told the same thing yesterday at my gun store here in TN. Probably not until after the first of the year, because all shotguns are going to the military.
  9. Let us know how it shoots and include some pics!
  10. Hey, not a problem FN_FAL. Your obviously are a shooter just like me. That's why we are on this board and others I presume. We enjoy Benelli products for their reliability and accuracy. The tax stamp requirement is really not that bad. It costs $200 for the stamp. And the paperwork usually takes 120 days at the most. The office relocated recently, and things got a bit delayed. The people who work at the NFA branch are nice and helpful when you talk to them. My M1 Entry cost $850.00 plus the $200 for the tax stamp. The item that really increased the over-all final price was the Surefire forearm.
  11. Wow STA, you have definitely been through alot. I'm shocked at the customer service of Benelli. I hope it all works out for you in the end.
  12. M2 Tactical - My M1 Entry has a Surefire deticated forearm. Yes, it is not cheap, but quality never is. Fn_FAL : Yes, I am a Federal LEO. No, it is not a class 3 permit , it's a tax stamp that's required for class 3 weapons. One doen't need to be a LEO to legally own class 3 weapons. One just needs to reside in a state that allows these weapons. Unfortunately CA is not one of them. It's not a SOCOM Mark 23 pistol. It's an HK tactical in 40S&W with a B&T Implus II-A suppressor. It's not a G36 either. It's an SL8-1 semi-automatic rifle configured to look like an HK G36K assault rifle. These are personally owned weapons, so I have to comply with ALL laws pertaining to civilian ownership. Yes, you are correct, M2 Tactical can only own a Benelli with an 18" barrel. Unfortunately, I failed to notice his state of residency.
  13. Add me to your list too M1014.
  14. The Benelli looks great, and I love the Mad Dog. I had a chance to buy one about three years ago in AK, but passed on it. I really regret that I did that.
  15. Nice pics M1014. Thanks for sharing.
  16. brendon - In the interim, check ebay for a manual. They have them for sale from time to time.
  17. The shell holder looks very sturdy. I'll be in the market for one. I hope to have my M1014 by early next year! I can't wait!!
  18. RL1 - You will love it when you buy it. It will certainly be a nice compliment to the Benelli M1014!
  19. The October 2005 issue of American Rifleman is a special shotgunning issue. Benelli's Cordoba is on the cover. Article on the shotgun starts on page 98.
  20. ianjbs - My home defense shotgun is a Benelli M1 Entry with a 14' barrel. The short barrel makes it very handy indoors.
  21. WOW, nice pics RL1! Is that your Mark 23 ?
