  1. Look down the barrel (when the gun is unloaded and with the action open (bolt back))... if you see a spiral, those are your riflings. No spirals... smooth barrel.

    choke tubes

There always seems to be a decent array on eBay. Particularly of the Primos variety.
  3. Dropping the trigger group and bolt out of the Nova is a relatively simple task. If you feel up to it, I would pull it apart first and make sure it goes back together according to the owners manual. I would do that before taking it to a pro or the company. However, if you have already done that or don't feel comfortable, do what feels safe.
  4. Arghhh! Have you no decency man?
  5. Why must you post those pictures and taunt all of us still saving money for our first? Why? Why?
  6. That's actually a decent price. I picked mine up used for $250. Haven't looked back. You will fall in love with the shell-stop on the forearm. It's the envy of my hunting friends.
  7. Both 28" and 26" are made. To my knowledge, no 30" barrels are out there. Keep your eye out. It is possible that someone will want to swap for the shorter barrel.
  8. I can help you with that. Select an auto at random and ship it my way.
  9. Bunch of jokers around here... don't mind them... sell it to me for $205 Anyway, a brief honest appraisal of the Nova: Simple to clean and service. Is utterly reliable. Quite a few people make a stir about its recoil. I fail to see why such a large fuss is made. It's no worse than my 16g side-by-side. At any rate, throw a Limbsaver pad on there and you won't know the different (Limbsaver is producing one for the Nova specifically at the beginning of next year, until then the medium slip-on fits like a dandy).
  10. Can't address your answer specifically, but I do have a couple of links in the cleaning/prevention department that everyone should take a look at: http://web.archive.org/web/20030604162545/http://communities.prodigy.net/sportsrec/gz-rust.html http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/GunTech/NewsletterArchive.aspx?p=0&t=1&i=503 Don't mean to hijack... I figured this might be helpful at any rate.
  11. Looks like a claw sling to me
  12. Truthfully, the best way for you to answer your questions is to go pattern the gun yourself. Modified should be fine with hevi-shot. I am unsure as to whether Full would be, but I suspect it should be if you aren't going to go any larger than 6. Which raises my final question, why are you hunting goose with 6? I shoot duck with 4 and usually cover goose with 2. I'm not being critical, just curious. Thanks!
  13. Update... I believe the slug barrel this is an issue with is the cantilever barrel. I think.
  14. Hey all, It came to my attention by another Nova owner that the slug barrel that Benelli is offering up for the Nova is made by Ithaca. There is no Benelli-made barrel. Can anyone confirm/deny this?
  15. Just recieved word from LimbSaver that they are going to be producing a pad which will fit into the stock of the Nova. No more slip-on! It will be available at the beginning of the new year. Its model number will be: 10402. Great news as I think the LimbSaver is the cheapest, most effective, and best solution to Nova recoil. [ 10-10-2005, 01:22 PM: Message edited by: Cleric ]
  16. Thanks for working on filing a complaint. These have started to get a tad bit annoying.

    Fighting Shotguns

Classy! I love old ads. I just picked up a half-dozen Ithaca ads from the beginning of last century that match my Ithaca Side-by-Side. Got to get them mounted soon.

    Duck hunting

Why don't you do a quick search and figure it out yourself? Lazy illegitimate child... This doesn't belong in this forum. AT BEST, it may belong in the "Waterfowling" forum. [ 10-05-2005, 09:10 AM: Message edited by: Cleric ]

    Boat Pics

Boat? What boat? All I see are weeds.
  20. Oiy, answered my question by reading another thread. Nothing to add... love my Nova. [ 10-02-2005, 04:51 PM: Message edited by: Cleric ]
  21. To determine if all of it will stay in pattern, it would be best for you to go and pattern it yourself. I think this link will be helpful for you.
  22. I believe that generally you would want just a standard Cylinder choke for shooting rifled slugs in your smooth barrel. Any constriction is going to be both hard on the barrel and the function of the slug. You can generally shoot buckshot through any choke. There may be exceptions, but I am unaware of them. It all depends on your pattern. I would say buy what you are going to use for the bird loads (I recommend Modified). This will function just as well for home defense. Hope that helps some!

    R1 TRIGGER

Didn't know if you saw the R1 forum a couple down from this one... lots of helpful folks over there and a good amount of posts! http://www.benelliusa.com/forums/ultimatebb.php/forum/5.html
