    Removing Plug

I use a plastic pen or piece of wood, so I don't scratch anything. I work the plug out slowly and cup it just before it springs out. Never had an issue yet.
  2. Well the mag tube is aluminum, so it must have been the spring. I always take a shotgun patch, put oil on it and then turn it through the entire spring. Never had one rust.
  3. How would you get rust in the mag tube? Did the spring rust?
  4. That works too, but I prefer factory.
  5. Obtaining the barrel is not the hard part? You want to bet on that one? I have been trying to find a 14" barrel for my M4 and it's impossible. I had to buy a full class 3 gun, take the barrel and then put it on my registered receiver (Form 1). The origianl entry gun was then taken off the NFA registery and now I have an extra receiver and collapsable stock.
  6. I fired the slugs up to probably 75 yards and it was right on. Very impressed with the 14" barrel.

    M2 vs M4

Slow? Not mine. It shoots and cycles as fast as I can pull the trigger and I am pretty fast.
  8. I took the Benelli 14" M4 out for its second outing and not one single problem. Shot around 200 rounds from buckshot, slugs, low recoil stuff and bird shot. This is the finest weapon I have ever had, along with my HK P7 and Glock 21.
  9. This has been covered before and most members that have the M4 know this and they take the risk. A police officer is NOT exempt from paying the 200.00 tax stamp. Just a department is and they dont need a form 1, they just order the guns they want and its regestered to the department.
  10. Greetings, Well I have no reason to take mine apart, so I have no idea. If you look at a schematic view of the M4, it should show how it's mounted on. Hope that helps a little.
  11. The M1 is totally different than the M4. On the M1 you need to remove the recoil pad with a phillips screwdriver. Then you need to remove the nut from the inside and the stock will slide off.

    M2 vs M4

Here are a few reasons the M4 kicks ass over the M2. 1. Trigger guard on the M4 is aluminum, not cheap plastic. 2. M4 is gas operated, so a more variety of loads can be used. 3. Collapsable stock available for the M4. 4. The USMC uses and swears by the M4 The M4 is just an all around better and tougher made shotgun than the M2.
  13. Greetings, Does anyone have any testing data between the Federal Tactical and the Winchester Ranger 12 Ga 00 rounds?
  14. Anyone know when the new surfire rail system will be available? That should make for a pretty nice set up.
  15. Sorry, but as anal as I am about my firearms, that is pretty fugly.

    M2 vs M4

The M4 without the Magazine ext will hold five 2 3/4 shells plus you can put a floater round under the bolt and one in the chamber to make it seven. When they say 4+1, they are refering to 3" shells.
  17. Mine has done that too, where the lifter doesn't push the round up. It usually happens when I use a ghost (floater) load. However on the range, no problems what so ever.

    Shotgun Finishes

I don't even paint my own house, let alone my M4. That was some awsome work though. Thanks for the link.

    M2 vs M4

The M4 is gas operated and will cycle a more variety of loads than the M1 or M2, which are both inertia operated. The M4 is the finest combat shotgun ever made.
  20. Has anyone finished a Benelli M4 with an aftermarket finish like duracoat, etc? I am thinking of doing this to my shotgun as it seems like every part has a little different color. The receiver is dark black and the barrel and mag tube are different in color. I think it would look awsome for the whole shotgun to have that teflon black look.
  21. You can still find them for around 1299.00 NIB. Seeing that yours has been fired and marked, I would say yes, you are asking to much. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=75949906
  22. I never detail cleaned my new Benelli M4 before I shot it the first time. I oiled the bolt rails and then shot 150 rounds of target loads and a handful of 00. I didn't have one malfunction of any kind.
  23. I just use a small stick or plastic pen and slowly work it out. I am very anal and with a screwdriver, may slip and scratch something. Also make sure, just before the cap comes out, cup your hand over it, because the spring comes out pretty quick.
  24. If you are using it just to shoot at the range, then who cares, just shoot away. Should work just fine in the Benelli.
