  1. I am a right handed shooter who has limited use of my left arm. I cannot support a raised long gun for more than a couple of seconds. Consequently I am limited to light shotguns.

I am contemplating a .20 gauge Ultralight for upland hunting, but I also want to be able to do some Turkey hunting with it.

    Feedback wanted:

Is a .20 just too light for Turkey?

Is there a Turkey choke for the .20 Ultralight?

Can the Ultralight be fitted with a pistol grip?

Is there an alternative out there, in any configuration?

    Any other ideas?

    thanks

20 gauge is fine for turkey. ( The UL will kick like a mule w/ turkey loads)

Yes, any crio choke will fit in the Ultralight

No, I'm pretty sure the pistol grip is out.

Any of the 20 gauges are pretty light. Nova,m2, and monty are around 6.5lbs. Save you some $$ to..

  2. I don't think it's me. I have been using a pump for almost 30 years and this gun for over two. Is there a known condition that would cause malfunction after a few years etc?

Not that I'm aware of. Just in the last month there has been a few people on here with problems with there new supernovas. Other than that. You would have a hard time finding anything. Have you called Benelli?

  3. I started a thread here and it has disappeared. I know it was there because I went back to it later to see if anybody had responed to it. I do not recall the title of it but it was a question about SuperNovas (pump) action breaking open by itself after the shot.

Now my profile says I have made no posts.

    ??

The only time I have expierenced this is while dry firing when not holding the fore arm. When actually shooting the weapon I have never had this happen.

I don't know about your lost post, but I can tell you that all pumps release the bolt when fired. Generally, recoil will begin the process of opening the action, then the shooter takes over and completes the process.

In order to keep it closed, you have to make a deliberate effort to keep the forearm forward when shooting.

Whatever you just said, tucker just explained it.

  4. When I said I pulled the trigger assembly I quess I thought that would give some indication that I had stripped and cleaned it. My bad I have cleaned it thourghly and it still is jamming. How do you get this magazine tube off?

If its like the nova. You take off the mag. cap, remove the barrel, use needle nose pliers and take off the retainer cap, remove the spring and plug. The tube doesn't come off the gun without heat. If its not like the nova, sorry I couldn't help.

  5. I can handle the lack of parts, one piece stock, ect.

The only thing that truly bothers me, is the way the foreend is loose.

I just bought my first supernova, I have a nova also.

Does anyone know if the Supernova fore end will fit on a nova, and if so will it

    fix the foreend nova giggle?

    Thank you in advance everybody?

That is the only crappy thing about the Nova's. For Turkey hunting I stick black foam inbetween the forerarm and the rails but it doesn't work for major wing or clay bird shooting.

  6. ha. I get a lot of guff from my friends about my rifle and living in a high rise. However, none of them own, or have ever excercised their constitutional rights. I am pretty proud of my Scout Squad. I have been building this up for a few months (Wrong forum I know) But Hookster Will love it!P1160575.jpg

Thats a real mans black rifle!!! Love it.

  7. yes I have and I think they look great if you are on a swat team. The painting is an option but for $1300 to $1600 should i have to?

I would just like to see them with some color options instead of camo or black

How about blued with walnut stock????

  8. Novakink,

I don't think I am. I have never had this issue with an 870. Can you do that on an 870 and get away with it?

I can tell you I have cleaned the firing pin well. I did notice that the little pinstop that holds it in place has a small rubber washer. That washer is damaged on one side. I don't think that would matter but worth mentioning.

    Thanks in advance,

I still don't know what that washer does. I haven't had mine on in years. The gun isn't resetting. You not short stroking it are you?

  9. if you are saying a nova is a pos. i fully agree.

Some people come on here and think there hot s &^% and don't come on here to ask questions. They know what they are going to say.

Some people come on here, ask the right questions, and get there gun fixed.

    Supernuge,

Welcome to the Forum. From what I'm reading, are you holding down the trigger inbetween shots? Have you had the firing pin out of the bolt and cleaned it?

  10. Lets define know nothing about a nova shotgun. I rebuilt the bolt with new firing pin and spring. Im not a gunsmith and will not take apart the trigger group. The last time i checked you shouldn't need to be a gunsmith to use a shotgun for hunting. You know when things work its all good. When they break its all bad. I missed alot of ducks this year due to this damn shotgun if the shoe was on the other foot you would be alot more understanding. I work hard for my money and expected this benelli nova to last more than 3 seasons with problems. i have friends with remington 870s that work good for 15 years come on ...

I would agree that any gun should last of more than three seasons. There are hundreds of thousands of nova's out there that last longer. There's way more running than broke.

870's made 15 years old are way better than the 870's made today. My father-inlaw as a jc higgins 12 gauge that made in the 50's. Still shoots great. Why don't people don't hunt with them? Because they weight about 11 pounds and only shoot 2 3/4 inch shell.

Why did you buy a nova? Because you heard they were great shotgun. And they are. You are just one of the unlucky ones that got a bad one. They gun manufacter as them.

  11. I have a brand new supernova with pitol grip in black. Would anyone be interested in trading a regular stock for my pitol grip. I am located in central illinois.

Just wondering. Where about in Central Il do you live??

  12. Yeah i did try benelli ..when i bought the shotgun!;)

Part of the reason i bought it was the fact Benelli advertised that the barrels could be changed out.Problem is i cant find anywhere that sells the barrels..including this website ..wich incase you didnt notice is OWNED by Benelli !...

    Anyone else have any suggestions?

Rifled slug barrels are getting easier to find but if your looking for a field barrel you will have better luck buying a new shotgun. If you can find a barrel it will cost you about as much as a new gun.

  13. when I was young I couldn't hit a thing right handed. My dad realized I was using the wrong eye closed. i couldn't close my left eye. So he had me shoot left handed and I was able to hit everything that way. i've shot left handed ever since.

Shouldn't close your eyes at all. Both eyes open when wingshooting. ( atleast one eye open for all other shooting.

  14. Maybe instead of the bayonet you could attach a Louisville Slugger to the Glock accessory rail.

    Hookster :D

Naa. That wouldn't work. Louisville are made of walnut. This would be better with the plastic gun.
