  1. My 11707 spring was about 27" long
  2. My SRM spring and aluminum follower arrived. It is 33-34" long and I think it will be perfect. Everything looks great.
  3. what kind of neighborhood do YOU live in? Usually here all they want is your TV or stereo.
  4. Oddly none of my AR's have any except on the little nub that keeps the shells out of my face. The Winchester 1500 I have has none. However, for this platform it is well and normal and if it ever bugs anyone, I suggest the Alumablack.
  5. I feel like a car buyer. I got to the lot and picked up a model I had never looked at. I ended up with a Primos Dead Deer choke.
  6. I want the choke that is going to produce the tightest patterns possible with buckshot out to 40-50 yards. I shot my M4 with the stock MOD choke that it came with and while it performed about like one would expect, I was non-plussed. At 15 yards only 30% of the OO hit the target (typing paper). I like the look of the Buck Kicker. The ports look "cool" I guess, but it worries me. They are angled, but are they going to cause the choke to unscrew because of how they vent the gas? What does everyone think of this choke, will it produce the tight cloud of OO that I am after? ETA: Could I just get the Kicks High-Flyer Full Choke and shoot OO through it? That way if I want to shoot steel or something I don't have to buy another tube. I realise it may not be QUITE as good as the Buck Kicker, but is there a reason not to do this?
  7. It's cool, I got it. Charging handle=charging bolt BCG=Bolt Carrier Group I am an AR-fan. Shotguns are a pretty new animal to me, so when I flounder for a term and don't have the time to look it up, I just use the AR equivalent. At any rate, I have not stripped my M4 down to the max that I feel confortable taking it down to (basically to the point right before screws and roll-pins get tweaked) and await the mag tube to replace it.
  8. Cool, im not worried about it in the least, just wanted to make sure everything was functioning 100% as it should be. Thanks PS. For those of you who are worried about it, the above poster hit the nail on the head.
  9. One thing I did notice yesterday when cleaning my M4 is that the ejecting cases put (VERY) slight dings/gouges around the ejection port on the inner corners on their way out. I assume this is normal, yes?
  10. Thanks, yeah, I was critiqing my vid myself earlier and I could have: Lowered CG, leaned into it more with my upper body.
  11. *update* I removed the stock mag tube (Green Epoxy or something, NOT LOCKTITE!) It was murder. I used a heatgun (($22 from wal-mart), a pair of boxers, my computer desk chair, and my knee and two hands. Other than a painful cut (not serious) and much struggle, it went well. I then used a 12ga brass brush to get all the crud off the threads on the reciever. I also took the weapon totally apart (minus the BCG, which I only field-stripped (as well as other minute parts that don't need taking apart, like the gas caps.) I am very impressed. The shotgun is well-made, simple, and should be rugged as heck. I now await my new mag-tube and SRM spring and follower. The stock spring measures 27" and some change btw. This is after me putting around 75 rounds through it.
  12. Well, I picked it up today. It is a 11707 with 2 barrel ports, matt black, pistol grip stock. I fired: 3" magnum buckshot, 2.75" slugs, and some 2.75" turkey loads through it. I also fired remington "Gun CLub Target Loads" listed as 1-1/8oz @ 1200fps. Pretty light stuff. I experienced ZERO non-user related malfunctions. The two malfunctions I experienced were: I did not allow the trigger to reset the first time I fired a fast string. My roommate was firing the target loads from the hip and limp-wristed the shotgun. I did the same and held it a bit firmer (still from the hip) with no issues, even floating a shell on the carrier for a total of 7 rounds fired as fast as I could. I am VERY pleased. The M4 was sighted in dead-on when I got it and produces clover-leaf groups at 15 yards with Winchester Power Point 1oz slugs (1700fps). Attatched is a link to a video of me shooting afformentioned load. Also is a picture of the M4. Soon it will have a Numrich mag tube and a SRM aluminum follower and 32" ss mag spring. As a small bonus I discovered that my M4 (as I assume all do...) has glow in the dark sights. No not tritium. Glow in the dark. Expose the white dots to a flashlight and they glow like those plastic stars kids put in their rooms. Same stuff I think. Cool. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=40808753
  13. I agree, but I just wanted to be able to make sure all the parts were there/nothing was "wrong" before I walked out of the store with it.
  14. Eh, that would help wouldn't it? The Benelli M4. I read the USMC manual SOCOMguy just posted though and it helped a LOT! Any helpful hints though that aren't published? (Like how H&K has their USP's set for delivery and a lot of new owners mess them up racking the slide for the first time)?
  15. Okay, I don't want to take FOREVER in the FFL dealer's store function-testing (I never leave without verifying 100% function short of firing a weapon when I buy it). Here is the issue. The shipping store (Able Ammo) took the weapon down to the point that the charging bolt has been removed from the BCG unit (sorry, I think in AR-terms). I have no idea how to get things back togather at this level and don't want to spend all afternoon leafing through the manual (which I have heard sucks) before I can get things going enough to verify that it cycles, locks back, whatnot right. Can someone give me a crash-course? The guy told me the bolt was in a brown paper folder/bag and I would have to re-assy. things.
  16. The jury is still out for me, will post a review when I install/get it.
  17. How often should these be replaced on the gas-pistons? Or is this like H&K's O-rings on their barrels and I will wear the gun out before I need to replace it? Anyone ever need to replace it and if it DOES fail, with the weapon still function, just without the safety of being able to vent excess gas, or will it short-stroke?
  18. Well, I ended up ordering from SRM a Benelli M4 2-shot Stainless extension spring (the one that comes with their Surecycle +2 kit for the M4) and the machined aluminum follower. He told me it was 32" long, but I assume that it is also of different thickness (it is SS not CS) than the factory 35" spring and if it works in their 2-shot extension tubes, it should do fine for my full-length tube.
  19. you sure shouldn't fire it w/o it attatched. Read the ammo box, should tell you.
  20. Never fire a shotgun w/o the choke if there are threads exposed to the path of the shot charge. IIRC it is an IMP cyl. I may be wrong though, if I am, it is MOD.
  21. Let me know what they measure, and if they are different, PM me if you will part with one of them for slightly more than you payed + S&H.
  22. I heard there was a 28.5" and a 35.0" spring from Benelli?
  23. Where can I get a spirng that will work with my 7-shot tube on my M4? Noone has one that I can find and E-guns is the only one that lists it and they are out. A link to a vender would be awesome!
  24. $1680 including tax (store was in the same state as I )
  25. I bought one today. 60 day MINIMUM wait. So I called another store that had one in stock and I should have it by wed.
