I reviewed my notes:
-
Yes, i bought the medium stuff i think it was. Even his light stuff is wayyyy too thick for this application. Its meant for pistol slides, especially loose fit guns with his heavier grades, and for warm weather. The stuff im referencing in this thread can be run in sub zero temps and is very thin, without running. I have never seen a grease like BRB before. ALG grease comes close, but BRB is stringy like Enos grease, while being lighter than toothpaste.
-
Ive not. Ive tried sts 1145fps 1-1/8oz, and 8 pellet 1145fps flite control le. Works fine. Even held loose. As stated, down to -5*f, i detected no thickening of note when i tested a blob in my deepfreezer.
-
No, its just a generic oil as far as i can tell.
-
Most greases will slow the action. I have not found this the case with the BRB. I use it on the rails very heavily, and the weapon functions fine, even with low recoil 1145fps 8 pellet federal LE buck. Very positive function. I note no negative effect vs. Oil on the energy of cycling in any weapon ive used it on. Wewr has been significantly reduced to the anodized rails and the phosphate rails of the carrier.

I will contact the owner, and see if he wishes to post here. He has posted on several forums, and is very easy to engage with questions and provides information that I have found to be quite useful, about the product.

Yep! It's pretty cheap to try. Let us know what you think! I bought the "free" sampler to start, as well.

WTS: Complete Benelli M4 With Asgard Rail System

A lie of omission? No. He said -
I've gone back to "core" products that have mil-spec testing, etc. as of late, after being very disappointed with Froglube, Fireclean, and other newest and latest and greatest. I did, however, decide to try one more. "Black Rifle Balm". It touts as a very light grease, and I can vouch that it is. It's like a better version of ALG Grease. It's lighter, and stays in suspension much better. I have been using it for 6+ months, now, and it's a winner in my book. I do not note it thickening, becoming gummy, or any of that. The manufacturer makes no crazy claims, and there is no need for some ritualistic application. It's basically an extremely lightweight grease that has a very solid add-pack. To that end, the wear on the carrier, cam-pin, and rails of my SBS Benelli M4 with more rounds through it than several of my last M4's shows the least amount of wear I've ever seen on the M4 platform, regardless of the type of lube I have used. Clean up is easy, and the wear pattern suggests that this product DOES do something SLIP 2000 and G96 synthetic and others don't. I have been using it on my suppressed .22 pistol and AR15, as well. It does equally well in these applications. I like it a lot because I can apply heavy lube, and it will not run out of the action if the weapon is stored vertically as in a rifle rack. I have tested it down to -5*F, and it did not become noticeably thicker when I moved the blob with my finger. I paid for all of mine, and have no affiliation with the company. https://www.cherrybalmz.com/product-page/black-rifle-balm

This community has a very long memory. Wait about a decade or so before you call it. One never knows when a past thread long forgotten, but uncovered on Google will torpedo a sale or purchase. -
Mixed Results Today - First Time with my New M4 Benelli Report
Unobtanium replied to Centuriator's topic in Benelli
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJiSkNtrprg You have the 1301, Benelli ID system, Kalashnikov, and Benelli M4 in slow motion to review above. None of these systems use a buffer. The Benelli ID has been proven, especially, to last a LOONNNG time. All of them look as, or more violent than the Benelli M4 on the rear impulse. I propose that no, a buffer is not needed, and that one should leave the timing of the gun alone. -

Mixed Results Today - First Time with my New M4 Benelli Report

You say it beats the **** out of things...does it? It's pretty low recoil, even given its weight. Noone I know of has ever broken a receiver, or the "back" of the carrier. Watching it cycle in slow motion, it's not bad at all. I really think it should be left the **** alone. -

I gotta agree, if I sell **** with an issue, I disclose the issue. -
-Aluminum trigger guard will drop right in. NO M4/M1014 receiver will NOT accept an aluminum trigger guard to my knowledge. -The rounded stainless looking (might be chromed 4140, dunno) pins are just common-parts with M2's and other guns. The correct part is still a flat black oxide pin, and some polymer trigger guards come with those pins. It seems to be a grab-bag thing. -The washer you reference is because without it, the plunger would, over time, wear down the guard of the polymer trigger guard and tolerance stacking issues would lead to a fail to function, potentially. -You swap over everything in your polymer trigger pack (minus the now superfluous guide/washer you discussed), and motor on.

I've honestly never had to "break in" any of the M4's I've owned. -
That's the joy of NFA items. I keep them.

Oh no. Nothing. Don't ever touch that sling. You'll end up replacing all your BFG's. The BFG Vickers sling is a knock-off of the VTAC sling Kyle Lamb came out with. It's a bit lighter, but adjusting it under tension on the fly is a real PITA. The VTAC works like buttah, but it's bulky, metal hardware can ding things for those who care, and it just seems to have a lot of "fluff" hanging and swinging which a way. The LFT sling is absurdly light, very well made, sleeker than the BFG Vickers, and adjust just as easy as the VTAC sling, no metal hardware, super lightweight. It's literally the best, most functional, sexiest sling I've ever used on a gun. Moving forward, all my long guns which are slung, will sport this sling. The price is about $50, and it's a bargain. ESPECIALLY compared to Travis Haley's sling which is similar looking.
-
Honestly, the rock-hard pad on it. It would "skid" on my shirts when shooting prone, and abraid my shoulder after 25+ slugs. The "stickier" limbsaver gripped and compressed and didn't cause the friction burns.

No, I'm not upset over your comment, I just found it inflammatory. I believe that since you've mentioned double standards and virtue signaling in this and other posts, you can see what I'm driving at. Why not leave moderation to the moderators?
-
That, sir, is what I consider, inflammatory. As such, it violates this site's standards, as outlined in this thread in post #11.
-
Benelli uses it oem. It's on their M4A1. As far as I know, they sourced it from Nordic Components, or directly copied it. https://nordiccomp.com/categories/speed-button-autoloading-shotguns/

Also take someone into account. I have a friend who expresses opinions like that. He will do it to your face, too. He also just comports himself in that manner. He has no malice behind it, and will say stuff like this while you sleep in a bed at his house as a guest, and eat out of his fridge. It's just how he presents himself. He's very frank, and says what he says. Is this PC? Is it societal norm? No. But I try to look at the good aspects.
-
He made some salient, if abrasively worded points. I still honestly have no clue why your setup is the way it is, except to save money (you already had the optic, and it's a good one). You raised your stock to compensate for raising the optic. This is economically sound and it works just fine, but functionally, I would argue that it's added weight, height over bore offset, and places more recoil and impact force on the junctures of said parts.
-
Continuing to love it, but I just never could warm up to the C_stock. I threw the PG stock on today and am very pleased. The Limbsaver is...a limbsaver as well.Recoil isn't so much the issue as shear forces are. The stock and my shirt slide under recoil and literally tear skin. I had this happen on my SNT, too. The Limbsaver prevents this. Also, shout out to Lead Faucet Tactical. This is the best sling I've ever used. Also, chronographed some LR Federal Truball (rated 1300fps). They ran 1168-1200ish at 3m from chronograph. From my 18" SNT, they were doing about 100fps more.
