  1. Have you given Glocks a try? If you do try one in .45 make sure you try the model21sf instead of the regular 21. The grips on the 21 are crazy large even for folks with large hands.
  2. Hey Duggan, It kinda seemed like you've been layin' low lately. Now we know why, Fiendish experiments in the laboratory. I look forward to seeing the results.
  3. At the moment I have a Glock 21sf .45 which I consider my go to defense handgun, a Springfield Armory XD .40 w/ the 5" tactical barrel, a Glock 17 9mm, and an old Ruger security six .357 I used be more of a 1911 guy but I've really become a fan of the newer polymer/striker fired designs
  4. I believe those are the only options (beside duct tape ) that don't replace the original forend. although you could add a rail to the original forend like the pics that Duggan has posted. I believe these were used for that: http://www.ergogrips.net/item-detail.cfm?ID=4756-2&storeid=1&image=ergoprail.gif&CFID=37904886&CFTOKEN=90156085 Hookster
  5. X2 on that, Placing the light so you operate it with thumb on the left side or index finger tip on right side is also a good option if you want to save some weight/expense. Hookster
  6. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe that Comfor Techs were ever made for those models
  7. Hi Johnson, Here's the link to the Sidearmor site: http://www.sidearmor.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=46&zenid=102v3bhuv06rn2c5frdie1rsg5 Looks like they are currently on backorder. the price for the rail system with one long side rail is 329.95 (I'm running one long side rail on the switch side and a short side rail on the light side) the shell carrier is a separate bolt on piece and it's going for 54.95 Installation was easy and field stripping with the system in place is not a problem For the light I used a Streamlight TLR-1 (135 lumen model)about 99.00 from Optics Planet plus the pressure switch backplate 37.00 and the switch 26.00 There's a lot of good info in this review thread by StrangerDanger: http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19212&highlight=sidearmor also a lot of questions addressed in this thread http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19419&highlight=sidearmor and a few more pics here http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19550&highlight=sidearmor Take Care Hookster
  8. I think you were refering to Sidearmors 4 rounder? I'm very happy with the Sidearmor setup here are a few pics:
  9. Is this occuring when you are actually firing the weapon or only when you are cycling the weapon without firing (like your unloading it)?
  10. Hi Buzzworm, Are you new to Benellis by any chance? New owners who are used to other brands of shotguns often aren't clear on operating the cartridge drop lever (the tab with the red dot on the right side of the trigger guard)
  11. I'm not an expert on them by any means but they're intended to be used in this way. I agree though it does seem a bit counter-intuitive that it would work well I did notice on their site that the Docter intended for ACOG use has a lot more adjustment range than their standard red dot reflex 260in @ 100yds vs 125in @ 100yds. This would help with sighting in with it sitting that far above the bore. Anyone ever use a similar setup?
  12. Update: it looks like HDO sports is on backorder as well. I also contacted about everyone I could find that list the M80 on their site. Seems that everyone is waiting on Surefire to replentish their supply. Oh well, back to waiting ... but again, if anyone has one they want to sell send me a p.m. Thanks, Hookster
  13. Yeah that's a Docter red dot sight like this http://www.trijicon.com/user/parts/products1.cfm?PartID=543&back_row=2&categoryID=13 they can be mounted to most ACOGs for close in work. Hookster
  14. I did handle one of the Trijicon reflex sites briefly at a show about 1 1/2 years ago before I had been thinking about a sight for use on a Benelli. I remember being slightly put off by the heavy yellow/green filter that you're looking through. I guess this is necessary to give the non powered aiming point enough contrast to be easily viewed in the bright sunlight? The Trijicon RMR LeoAtrox likes does look nice http://www.trijicon.com/user/parts/More_Info.cfm?Item=RMR-Callouts.jpg&Act=img2&Partid=1 http://www.trijicon.com/user/parts/parts_new.cfm?categoryID=13 but I think I might prefer the powered version. it does look pretty rugged for that style of HWS but It would be nice if the offered an even more protective mounting like this one that Larue has for the Burris http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/catalog/fastfireani.gif I'd defintely like to check the RMR out in person. I think the T1 is still the frontrunner in my mind but the RMR may be closing the gap somewhat. I like the fact it would be a little more compact/low profile and I think the auto adjust for changing light would be good. Anyone here have first hand experience with the RMR? Hookster
  15. The big three I'm considering are: #1 Aimpoint T1 w/Larue mount (would be mounting on the beefier Sidearmor or KZ rail) #2 Burris with the Larue mount #3 Trijicon reflex One thing I like about the T1 is, even if I didn't like it on the M4 for whatever reason I could just get the taller Larue mount for it and use it on an AR. We'll see though I'm going to take my time with the optic and see if I can check some of these out first hand at the next gun show. Hookster
  16. Thanks Tyson!, I gave it a try and ordered one. I was home too late to get a hold of them by phone to verify if it was in stock but I'll check in the A.M. and if they say they're on 6 week backorder too. I'll just cancel and wait for Optics Planet (or someone here that wants to sell one ) Thanks again for the lead, Hookster
  17. If you end up getting one let us know how you like it. That's one of a few I was looking at too. Hookster
  18. That's who I'm backordered with. They said 3-4 weeks 4 weeks ago. I emailed them and they said they didn't know when they'd get them back in stock from Surefire. I then contacted Surefire and they said maybe 5=6 more weeks maybe longer. So, I'm thought I'd do a little fishing here and elsewhere and see if I can get one any sooner. Anyone?? Hookster
  19. Here's a recent thread about the same type of issue http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19724 Hookster
  20. Hey All, I'm getting tired of waiting on backorder and anxious to continue my fiendish M4 configuration experiments. If anyone has a Surefire M80 railed forend they would consider parting with for $ send me a p.m. Thanks, Hookster
