Hey SD, I like your XDM. I got to play with one in Portland, OR. and really liked the feel but they still don't have a CA legal version. It would be nice if they made it in .45 too but I imagine that's probably in the works. I do have a regular 5" tactical XD in .40 though. Later, Hookster

Hi Zee, Sorry , but no, it would do nothing for reducing your parts count to 10 or less since it is not one of the 13 parts that the ATF considers the M4 to be comprised of. Hey Tyson, Yeah I've got some serious range time coming up here between trying out my new M1A socom and doing some pattern tests. I'm also a fan of the Federal 000. I've shot a bit of it with my M1S90 It seems to shoot tighter than my usual Rem 00. For my tests I'll probably start with my M4 w/mod choke at 15 and 25 yds and see what happens. Later, Hookster

As long as the parts were of high quality, I think there'd be a lot of interest around here. More 922r compliance options=Good. I know some would definitely want to be able to replace enough parts to install a collapsable stock with a FL tube. If I remember correctly Sukhoi Fan was looking into some options with some contacts that he has. Any updates Sukhoi?

As far as the Rem HD 00, it sounds a lot like the Remington LE TAC 8 00 seen here: http://www.remingtonle.com/ammo/ss_tac8.htm I just recieved 75 rds of this stuff to try out today (Thanks Tinman1975 for the Ammotogo.com link) I'll be posting some thoughts and pics as soon as I get a chance to shoot some of it and see how it patterns. Hi Tyson, Sorry I just noticed your reply to this thread, we had a 3+ day power outage last week from a storm. I do plan to post some pics when I shoot the TAC 8. I was going to compare it to standard Rem 00 which is what I usually shoot and some Winchester military grade 00 which I recently got some of. Hi Quickbiscuit, There does seem to be some small inconsistencies between the pics on the site and the firearms people are getting. I know forum members Lisa and Huntn7 recently had issues with their guns not having a mag tube sling mounting stud when ones had been pictured on the website. Hookster

It seems logical that the loss of the extra weight with the short barrel would give you a little more capacity to hang goodies on it without seeing cycling problems. I wonder, are long barrel M1s more prone to problems with lighter loads? BTW Congrats Shawdow on your new aquisition! I have an M1 tactical that got me into Benellis it has never hiccuped once on me Hookster

Hey Flame Red, Sorry about the delayed response but I'm just coming out of a three day power outage from a storm last Monday. I like your socom build. The ACOG looks great with the American Defense mount. I just picked up my socom today and I have an Aimpoint ML 3 w/2moa dot on the way with the Aimpoint low 1/4" high ring but also have my eye on the American Defense low Aimpoint mount. I e-mailed them to ask how high the bottom of the ring is above the rail but I haven't heard back from them yet. From the picture it looks like it might be slightly higher than the Aimpoint ring but not by much. I'll post some pics and a review when I get everything together with mine. Later, Hookster
