Benelliparts.net immature and unprofessional, legitimate?
StrangerDanger replied to ShadowGuy's topic in Benelli
Highly recommend you go thru my guide on how to replace that receiver extension. It’s not an easy task. If you are going to attempt it, hit me up if you get stuck. I’ve walked a few users thru it and I don’t think I called anyone names! Those tubes do have a black grease inside, so if you checked its oil, you’ll likely get some on your finger. The tube is steel, so anodizing won’t work. Some cold blue may cover up some of the marks. Steve Rose at Rose Action Sports can thread the muzzle of your shotgun if you really want that choke. -
Factory or FFT reproduction are the lightest option. You can get a carriercomp 5 round titanium magazine tube to cut weight. Then maybe delete the iron sights and install a lightweight optic like a RMR.

I’ve dealt with Benelliparts for over a decade now and never had any negative experiences like that. Your receiver extension looks fine. They’re all discolored like that. Some of it is from heat treating on the bearing surfaces. Rubbing some oil on it will cover up most of it. The finish on the oem magazine tubes isn’t all that great to be honest. -
That loading was oof. It looks like that vinyl wrap like gunskins. They use that fake carbon fiber all the time on vehicles.

Good deal. Just sent them two guns last week. No disassembly or reassembly needed. Hopefully they’ll be faster than 6 months.

As some of you know, the cheek weld can get interesting when using the RMR on a Scalarworks Mount if you’re using the middle stock position. After some digging, I found a company named Reptilia that makes RMR spacers that sandwich between the Scalarworks rail and the RMR. The spacer utilizes the same mounting lugs that the RMR uses then provides more lugs on top of it. They make two heights, a 2.5mm and a 10mm riser. The supplied screws do not work with the assembly but could be modified by cutting them to the length needed. https://www.reptiliacorp.com/product/rof-riser-for-trijicon-rmr/

Milspec, maybe see if the reassembly is holding things up? If so, I'd be happy to reassemble it for you.

Double post.

I’d consider the regular NP3 over the NP3+. The + model has superior corrosion resistance. But the + series has a softer hardness. The regular NP3 will be more resistant to abrasion and be a bit cheaper too.

I’d recommend reading my tutorial for swapping the extension. It’s not an easy task and it requires some specialized tools. Benelli used those neutered receiver extensions as a work around to permit them to install an oem collapsible stock onto the M4. The only trouble is it is for cosmetic purposes only. The neutered extension won’t permit the functional collapsible stock to move to the tradition three positions. It is stuck on the fully extended position only.

The law enforcement models have all the evil features already. So you don't necessary have to change anything on it for compliance. Its essentially sold out of compliance. Now you may end up swapping some of the compliance parts out anyway since you'll want the better aftermarket ones.

Benelli M4 - TTI Charging Handle Revisions
StrangerDanger replied to StrangerDanger's topic in Benelli
It appears to be an inline production upgrade. -
Recently I received a few of these charging handles. I always liked the shape and knurling design of their bolt handle. In the past other users indicated that the bolt handle could be over inserted which could cause damage. This seems to be corrected in the latest version. The knurling on the bolt handle has changed slightly. it now has directional grooves. The bolt handle is fixed in a single position and does not rotate once locked in place. So if you've tried the bolt handle in the past and hated it, it might be worth looking at again. Taran probably needs some cash after all his women troubles!

What about pulling the rubber grip off of either the pistol grip stock or the fixed pistol grip stock and insert the spare parts inside the cavity inside the grip core? Then slide the rubber back in place. You won't be getting any large items in there, but you could get various springs, pins, bottle of lube maybe. Roll them all up inside a bag so they don't rattle much.

I’d still treat it like if you need 4 for compliance. The stock itself on the M1014 doesn’t collapse, so I guess it doesn’t count as evil. It is still two separate assemblies due to the design of the stock. You have the tail piece, then the pistol grip assembly.
-
The extensions won’t help you for 922 compliance. General consensus is you need three US made parts if using a pistol grip stock. If you’re using the oem collapsible stock, you need four. These days 922 compliance is easy. You have a lot of options to pick from; 1. Trigger (FFT/Briley/Benelliparts) 2. Hammer (FFT/Briley/Geissele/Shootingsight/Benelliparts) 3. Disconnector (FFT/Briley/Benelliparts) 4. Handguards (FFT/Surefire/Briley/Strike Industries) 5. Trigger frame (A&S Engineering) 6. Stock (Mesa Tactical Urbino) 7. Full length magazine tube (Briley/Carriercomp/FFT/Dave’s Metalwork) 8. Magazine follower (carriercomp/FFT/Briley)

You’re going to need to apply downward pressure on the nut while unscrewing it. So you’ll need a tool to slip between the nut and the top of the front sight tower. Dental picks may work. A modified two prong form, feeler gauges, or so on. Either the nut’s threads are damaged or it was the wrong size for that front sight post. If you can get it off, you can then try to use the oem nut to check the threads.

There never was an oem one where any of the components were plated. However, Benelliparts has sent some to have the pins and adjustment button plated. I’ve had a bunch made in the past where the aluminum frame of the stock is also plated, mostly for a matching cosmetic look.

Benelli M4 -- Receiver Extension Removal/Reinstallation Guide

I’d only remove it if it is an issue of sending a firearm to whoever is doing the painting. If it’s a local to you shop, I’d leave it on. -
Benelli M4 -- Receiver Extension Removal/Reinstallation Guide
StrangerDanger replied to StrangerDanger's topic in Benelli
New technique which is worth mentioning for those taking on the task themselves. When you heat the receiver to break down the threadlocker, you’ll want to let the receiver cool down before you attempt to install the new extension with Loctite. If the receiver is hot, the Loctite will cure much too quickly which can impede your work in installing the extension. I put the receiver in the deep freezer for 5-10 minutes after heating them to get around this issue quickly. -
The FFT trigger packs spring kit works well. It isn’t meant to be stronger or lighter. Just a better made Wolff made set of springs. The oem springs tend to take a set rather quickly. The M4 isn’t considered a drop safe gun. So less purchase on the seer is a little scary.
-
Never tried the Briley springs. I did try to TTI one. It turned the M4 into jamomatic with light primer strikes. I don’t think I was able to fire a single round with it. I diagnosed the problem for another users M4 to their spring too.
-
Briley is probably the best trigger option going right now. FFT is good, but you can run into fitting issues with the oem polymer trigger frame. So for a precursor, you’d want an A&S Engineering trigger frame. These are better made than even the oem aluminum ones. There is another kit from Benelliparts, but they’re relatively unknown quality.
