Well that's not fair! He spiced it up this time. There's even a framed picture of one of the guns WITHIN the photo...sneaky stuff.

Did you figure it out? I dont know how different the trigger assembly is between the SBEII and Vinci is, but this might give you an idea of what to do. maybe. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21737

If you havent figured it out already, yes they are LH/RH specific. I have a right handed SBE II that I have switched the Gel pad and safety on. I didnt order through the website. I just went through my local Benelli dealer. I told them what I wanted, they did the rest. Just checked out Brownells, I think this is it. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=21664/Product/GEL_PAD__LEFT_HAND__14__LOP

LMAO. I was thinking the exact same thing.

JUST turkeys?! Haha. Have you had any luck? Because I sure haven't. Lol. Must be all those out of staters killing them. Oh, and 55 in a 65? That's definetly NOT me.

Oooh, one of THOSE guys...lol jk. What do you hunt for up here?

I used to have a Mossberg with an 18" barrel and pistol grip. Loved it, I could even gets clays with it from the hip! After this coming elk season hopefully ill be able to get a benelli of similar configuration.

I am looking for a new deer/coyote rifle and like the R1. I already have a bolt action .300WM so I am lookin at getting one in .270. Has anybody here used one? What's your opinion on the rifle?

Just reversed it myself. It only took me about 5 minutes. Cant believe the gunsmith wanted to charge me $95 bucks for this. Thanks for all your help

I guess not!

I can't tell if you two are being sarcastic or not, but yes I bought a SBEII for $950. The previous owner died before he was ever able to shoot it. Sad days for him, but I walked away with a $1600 gun for a lot less. Buying used can be risky if you don't know what to look for. Anybody can clean up a gun but you can't hide wear n tear from abuse. Just take your time, inspect the gun closely and always buy from a reputable dealer.

I think they have just dropped the price of the steadygrip sbe to the price of the sbe without with a rebate. Then they say your getting it for free but you still had to pay for it up front. I have never heard of anyone getting JUST the steadygrip stock for free.

All this talk about turkey season coming up soon. Any turkey hunters here in Oregon?
-
Have you looked at used guns? I picked up my SBEII for $950 and it had never been fired. You probably won't find a deal like that but you could definetly find one barely used about the same price as a vinci.
-
Wow you lucked out!
-
Thanks but I'm not interested in shipping guns. I had a bad experience shipping my HK. I won't ever be doing that again. Like I said though, to bad your not in oregon!

I use kent fasteel 3" number 4s for ducks and when I'm goose hunting use 2s. I have never had a problem with these loads and they drop like a rock everytime. With a longer barrel the velocity and group size is affected but IMO its not enough to fret about. I have a 28" barrel and I use mine for waterfowl, upland, and turkeys without any problems.

Thanks. I've only !een a bear twice in the wild before and they both ran away. I know its a slim chance that id have to do anything, but better safe than sorry.

Fit is everything. If it doesn't feel right, chances are your not going to shoot very well with it. I found myself narrowing my search between these same two guns about a year ago. I had read all the reviews and info on both guns and was leaning heavily towards the Vinci. I went down to the gun store to place an order on a Vinci since they didn't have any in stock when I was in there last. Turned out they just got one in, I played around with it, decided I wanted the SBEII and walked out with one. I haven't regretted it once since then. Anyways...Do you NEED to be able to shoot 3.5" shells? Some people will say they have there purpose, and they do. but 99% of the time you can get the same job done with a 3" shell. Go to the local gun store. Handle both of them. Just see which one feels the best to you. There both Benellis...you cant go wrong to terribly much.

yes...I just realized this. I normally use the punch that came with my otis cleaning kit. Looks like I am going to have to find my set of punches to get one that will fit. Thanks for your help. This forum is an invaluable resource.

I owned a Super Nova for 2 years before I stepped up to a Super Black Eagle II. It was a great gun. The ONLY thing that ever went wrong with it, was 99% likely to be my fault. I was duck hunting in the pissing down rain when it was 18 degrees outside sitting on the Columbia River and as a couple ducks came in I took a shot and... nothing. It looks like I was using the wrong type of lube and it froze inside the receiver causing a failure to fire. I jacked the shells out and pumped it a few times...and it worked just fine after that. My bad. I Love my SBEII but am currently looking at getting another Super Nova. As far as comfort goes, I would definitely choose the Super over the regular nova as I have shot magnum loads with both and yes, the comfortech stock makes a difference. If the supernova feels right when you hold it, I say go for it. Take care of it properly and you wont be disappointed.

THANKS! Ill give it a try....

I have a Right handed SBEII however I shoot left handed. Ive heard its possible to reverse the safety, do I need to buy a new safety or can I still use the stock one? Is it something I can do myself? Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
