Federal dont recommend ported chokes or tighter than .665 for best performance, best way to find out how they pattern is try them.
-
They both are capable of shooting the same loads? That is the Super Vinci or the SBE 2

I will definitely pattern next season with a different choke and 2 1/4oz next season.....but not going to toss away my 1 3/4oz Hevi-13's. -

Congrats on the thunder chickens. I shoot 1.75oz Hevi-13 with a great pattern at measured 40yds and they drop turkeys at 40yds no problem. I dont know what they do at 60+yds as never tried to pattern or much less shoot a turkey at that distance. The 1.75oz Hevi-13 work great for me. -
Did you remove the bolt handle?

SBE II 28" barrell, Nitro H-517 #4x5x7 and Rhino 0.660"

These Nitro loads are the only loads Im aware of that hit the 300 mark? http://www.nitrocompany.com/pattern.htm Im well satisfied with 150-180 pellets in a 10" circle of Hevi-13 #6 shot @ 40yds.......bird gets knocked of its feet at the 40yd mark! The beard was only 5", but the performance of the Hevi-13 is great. I will try the Jelly Head next season with the same load, currently using a Hevi-13 choke .667 -
I dont think one is better than the other.....which one do you like the looks of or feels, fits the best. Personally the looks of the Vinci line just dont do it for me....like the SBE2 the best.

Im not sure about this jam issue.....have a SuperNova that just tried slowest gentle pump motion I could do with a 3.5" Hevi -13 shell at least a dozen times (no jams or issues)....then got out the boys youth Nova same test on it with 3" Hevi -13 ammo.....dozen times slow as I could pump. No jams. The SuperNova only has a few hundred rounds through it.....the youth Nova maybe 400-500 hundred rounds. Neither of these guns have to be tough guy cycled for them to work.

Myself just like the feel of the 26" so thats what I bought.....any 24" I have picked up just seems to feel weird to me, but many like them?
-
Only box call I have used is a Quaker Boy yelper......I really like the glass and slate call (Hookbuster 3) by Bully's game calls.
-
My sons Nova (youth model) is very smooth and will slide better than half way back when vertical. Was not like that out of the box....Benelli done some polishing when it was sent in for repairs. (shells dropped out bottom when new)
-
Have you found a SuperNova for that price? The SuperNova is a great gun....Im not sure its your best selection for trap only gun? Do you plan to hunt at all with the gun or just shoot clays?
-
If its not broke in, it may not cycle the lighter loads properly......thats all.
-
No need to shoot 3.5" ammo to break it in .....a box or two 1 1/4oz loads will do the trick. After that run a few 1 1/8oz Federal Walmart loads through it and see how it goes. The manual recommended to use heavy game loads for break in. I would be very surprised if the SBE 2 did not cycle well after 2 boxes of the 1 1/4oz loads. *both my Benelli SBE 2 and Stoeger M3500 only required just a few heavy loads to break in.

turkey choke help...SEBII using 3 1/2 winchester supremes #4
fikester replied to SBEIIWATERFOWLER's topic in Turkey Hunting
The other guy that reported 500 pellets in a 30" circle also reported 121 in a 10" circle not 300? Here is also a pellet count chart per oz in the Hevi-13 loads http://www.hevishot.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=46&Itemid=55 I do realize some guns shoot better patterns etc... but when guys shooting the Nitro loads at twice the price and are getting way less pellets than Hevi-13 results your reporting? sorry something isnt right.......maybe your not shooting a true 40yds? (120ft). Seen this happen quite often. I have never seen anyone shooting Hevi-13 #6 loads put 300 pellets in a 10" circle @ 40yds. -
The recoil is more felt when compared to gas....but the ease of cleaning, fewer parts, very reliable. Guns and ammo aired an episode where they smeared the action with heavy gobs of grease, I forget what else they did to it, but the SBE continued to cycle. Dont expect to run 7/8oz trap loads in it.....(mine will run 1oz reliable). The lightest load recommended is 1 1/8oz . After you take it apart a few times it will be the easiest gun you have ever cleaned.
-
The recoil has never bruised me even with 3.5" 2oz turkey loads from the SuperNova or SBE II. I shoot sporting clays, squirrel, crows, rabbit, and turkey with my SBE II never an issue.
-
I have them both, after purchasing the SBE 2 the SuperNova never leaves the safe. Both are great guns, but the SBE 2 is simply awesome. Use Break Free CLP (lubricant) and myself use a grease called TW25B on the rails......cold, wet, or hot she runs perfect. Run a few boxes of high brass heavy loads through it before trying the 1 1/8oz loads through it. You will love it after you get passed the price tag. as for the recoil.....to me its not much different than the SuperNova using the shoulder as the judge. both guns come with shim kits as well. The SBE 2 does come with hard case and 5 chokes.

ummmm, havent seen that even reported with Nitro Ammo? -
Nothing wrong with the Federal Flite Control at all......they are designed to be shot with a choke no tighter than a .665 and non ported choke according to Federal. I took two long beard last year in Md with that very load.......dead is dead. - the con is the load will have quite a bit less energy down range of 40yds compared to the Hevi-13 etc...
-
what load are you using with the Kicks GT?
