  1. Never mind, i found (some) useful information in the MSDS. However, I didn't see ISO Viscosity Grade given for each.
  2. Very interesting variety we have so far. I will definitely be testing out some of your recommendations. I am using MPRO-7 right now for internals; and the nationwide notorious Frog Lube for external surface. So no issues with this combo (in a very dry, drought ridden California) I do have Lubriplate and LPS-1 at my place of employment, as well as Starrett Instrument Oil for my micrometers. EDIT: My biggest dissatisfaction with Frog Lube and MPRO-7 is that I cannot obtain any lab certifications from an accredited association.
  3. Benelli did not originally designed these, Heckler and Koch did and I happen to own 3 of the 4 total accessories H&K ever made for Benelli (minus the laser, which is made in America by another contractor). The only thing Benelli did was continue making these. That is why the original ones where made as aluminum, because you are not suppose put load on the choke tube.
  4. Looking at the collective opinions about everyone's favorite lube/oil for their Benelli.
  5. That added length is the downfall of the muzzle brakes. A little bump transfers a lot of leverage....
  6. IMO, just because some thing has a few spikes on it doesn't mean it is designed for breaching, stabbing, or rebar cutting. Look at how the muzzle brake is mounted, on a choke tube adapter with small threads. Jamming that on a door will surely DAMAGE THE THREADS ON THE BARREL.
  7. You gotta pay to play; or as the quote goes. Hey HK, I would not recommend it for "breaching", it is a quick way to damage the barrel, the muzzle brake, and the choke tube.
  8. LOL imagine using a M3P with a box mag shooting clays!
  9. ooo good guess HK, you would think that Benelli would have made one by now.... They utilized the oddball M3 for the repeating function with use of a throw lever. Theoretically pondering, a simple switch of the cartridge release latch will render it able to be transplanted to the M1 and M4. I only haphazardly stumbled upon this information in one of Benelli online documents; so who else knows anything about this? They also happened to use the M3 for Beretta's usage. Unfortunately this one is unknown to the average american shooter.
  10. 166s is for M3s(and RX4/MR1/Supernova/M2/GLX) that look like this: (The most current variant of the M3)

    Trivia

Which is the only Benelli shotgun that has the full auto trigger system? Which benelli based shotgun uses a box magazine?
  12. Yeah that is correct. at the end the "6g" means medium class of fit and external threads. You could technically have your gunsmith run the threads at a tighter fit to hold better, but the issue will be finding a tap in that size.
  13. M21 x 1 - 6g M19 x 1 - 6g Yeah, drill and tap for any adequate gunsmith. If you really want to make the modification correctly you would take it to a machinist to have the hole enlarged with a boring bar, then thread it with a threading endmill. Depending on if you are going to leave the aluminium raw or coat it again; you would then calculate your pitch diameter. There is alot of leverage in that area with very little threads to hang on too, do it correctly or face a bent-out-of-shape receiver.
  14. Jays guns has the barrel for $700 dosh.
  15. Yup, I am quite curious as what it shall bring. Yeah, that is the trick of selling. It is very subjective to describe something accurately; with many using words that are too vague or generic. That damage to the receiver is definitely negligent to use "like new" to describe it.
  16. Like new condition? http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=446520710
  17. Well any of the fore mentioned will work (welding, brazing, silver soldering, epoxy, etc...) check out these brownells page: (it has several options to choose from and their specification/strength rating) http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/general-gunsmith-tools/solders-flux/index.htm?f_a=13 http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/general-gunsmith-tools/welding/index.htm Your smith should be able to decide which is best for strength and is the cleanest after re-installing.
  18. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=940950 I received two M4 barrels a few months ago, the previous bloke had added that ABSURD X-rail system on both of his M4s and crudely removed the cap ring. Not surprisingly he sent both to be SBS'd and sold the regular barrels to me. I sold one like that pictured, the other I had one of my gunsmiths remove the remaining cap ring (with heat and a machine vise), refinished, and sent to a friend. Once the remaining ring cap was removed it looked like dry powdery dust was left on there, but it was installed cleanly as it looked. I just had the removal process explain to me, so my only proof is what my smith told me.
  19. yes it can be done. I can not pin point the exact adhesive, but it is definitely something from Loxeal. welding, brazing, and soldering can be seen visible by the seems.
  20. No, you would also need a machinist to machine the barrel ring because the geometry is fairly complex where you would need special metrology equipment to get it exactly the same. If the shape is not the same the forend will get caught. It is an adhesive compound.
  21. thread locker.
  22. get the bolt release coated as well.
  23. "he" is the one who posted his link.
