Pretty much look at the difference between the M2 and M1 barrels. I am rather certain that is when to transitioned to the new barrel extension. It is just a larger ring right at the end of the barrel that gives more support to the receiver. The majority of M4s have the newer barrel.

4 port barrels are exceedingly rare. I don't even know if they make them anymore.

You want the one with a 11703 code on the packaging. It is the most common M4 being sold and being the cheapest in price. Anything with a collapsible, USA flag, or field stock will command a premium usually. Just get that one. Don't get the other M1014 or Titanium cerakote models. The premium isn't worth it as a first gun. Go shoot it a bunch and then figure out what you like and don't like. Even better is if you can go to a range that has one for rent and try it out or try out a forum member's gun.

M1014 and other models do not have it. I did two M3s and one M1 with the 3 position before.

My stock doesn't have thread locker on it. You should be using a lubricated, good quality screwdriver.

That makes no sense at all! Why send them the entire rear assembly when you can just take out the sight? Tooltech can just buy the rear and front sight from Benelli or LPA and do their $250 overpriced install on the two parts instead of that backwards process. I am pretty sure XS uses Trijicon inserts for the front sight. I went with LPA, Hi-Viz, and a XS sight (on the way) fiber optic.

I noticed you didn't list the bolt itself to be NP3 plated. Is that usually left hard chrome on the H2O?

I'm looking at new ghost rings upgrades. I wonder if LPA supplies tritium sights to Benelli. They have it in their catalog but only for the rear I see as D3. Or what would be funny is if Meprolight supplies tritium sights to LPA and they resell along with their items.

Nice M3Ts. I've been thinking of making reproduction M3T barrels. I think the sights are really cool. They are pretty much unobtainium. Here's another pic of that first gen M3 with a Surefire M17 and 6P LED. I must say the balance on it is much better than the other M3s. Swings and handles just like a M1 Super 90.

If you were to get the internals NP3 plated, what parts would it be (on a M3 and M4)? I am not too keen on the two tone finish so I wouldn't do an entire gun. Bolt carrier is pretty evident that would benefit the most.

Does a genuine H2O feel smoother than a regular black M4 (both brand new)?

The old bolt handles were terrible. There is nothing to grab on to.

It is nickle plated. Only comes in that configuration with those sights and magazine capacity. The field stock can be swapped for a pistol grip, but it comes with a field stock from the factory. It is the only combat shotgun that has the moniker "Kromo" whereas the others are called H2O. The Nova H2O is plated with nickle as well before it is over molded with plastic. The receiver finish will be exactly the same as some of the sporting shotguns like the Raffaello.

Ugh..... if that is your picture, you definitely don't have a NP3 plated M4.

Your only new option is the Supernova or Nova if you are on this forum. You can't get any new Italian semi autos for the $600. If you go used good luck; there's a shortage of guns right now and even cheap used guns are selling for more than their MSRP.

Here's a very early modified M3 with a shortened stock and Limbsaver pad. So the first M3s were just M1s adapted with a pump forend. The recoil spring was in the stock unlike modern M3s with the recoil spring under the barrel. The forend was also slightly different with a thinner action bar and no spring latch. (bottom items are of the early generation M3)

My Hensoldt RSA-S arrived the other day. Compared to other stuff on the market like the Aimpoint Micro and Trijicon MRO, the Hensoldt is at a disadvantage. The housing is full polymer (feels like glass fiber reinforced nylon) even where it grabs onto the rail.

Dang, 27 years of storage. What a waste to be honest. I don't think I would jump on that one as these M3Ts appear occasionally and that one is a really early one based on the finish. Here is my very own M3T with a fixed stock (and a spare functional folding stock in storage). I upgraded the safety to the M1014 triangular button and added the Super Black Eagle 3 charging handle.
